[Flashback]From blood to bargaining (Zandelia)

Postby Revy Hiroe on November 4th, 2011, 4:50 pm

The mercenary gave the woman a cold stare as she started to laugh, her eyes unusually sharp. She wasn't in the least amused by anything and seeing the other one starting to laugh so loud, she just wanted to smash her face. That scarface could have only laughed about one thing and that would be Revy herself. "She has the guts to laugh at me? Well, let's give her a small nudge that she shouldn't do that again.", she thought to herself.

"My price.... is...., she started as her voice went forced for only a second, "will be 9 gm and not a single cm less." Revy had attempted to kick Zandelia below the table, either kicking the chair so she'd topple over or her sheen, hard enough to leave a bruise. "Another thing.. Do not ever laugh at me again, you could find yourself gutted otherwise."

The mercenary grabbed one of the flagons and filled her mug, starting to drink from it right after. She needed to cool off her rage, or an 'accident' might happen. Her fingers had been itching for a while now and getting taunted like that wasn't really.... healthy for the other woman. Her disarming smiles weren't working in the least either, Revy never gave herself bare to something like that. "If she gives me another smile like that, I'll pound her face so she can't do it again. It's really pissing me off." The colors of her aura were going black from pent up rage, driving out the rest bit by bit.

OOCSorry for the crappost, can't really get my head into it, but just HAD to reply.

[Flashback]From blood to bargaining (Zandelia)

The sudden shift in Revy Hiroe’s temper was all but palpable to Zandelia, the hues of her aura shifting rapidly from a multi-coloured mayhem towards a dark, blackened mass that she rapidly tried to place. There was no need, however, as the warrior’s boot connected soundly – if not altogether too hard – with her shin and a lance of pain rippled up her leg before numbing itself out to a dull ache. Still, it brought a hiss from her lips and an almost murderous frown flooded her countenance briefly as the shock of the event caused her carefully crafted business nature to fracture momentarily. As she gave her leg a few distracted rubs she listened to the woman’s words as she also became aware that she had lost her grasp upon the powers she had been using to implement her auristic skill. The distraction was not altogether down to the throbbing in her leg either, as she tried to reign herself in and prevent the sudden break from causing her to overgive. It was a difficult task but one she managed as she spent a few moments covering it and maintaining her reality.

That was altogether too dangerous indeed. Clearly the woman has no sense of humour to speak of. I’ve been spending too much time around those who speak and mean two things it appears she thought to herself as she settled down and adopted as straight-forwards approach to the wall that was Revy Hiroe.

“Fine, fine. You’ve made your point Revy Hiroe and there’s no sense in fighting when we should be planning. We are in business after all” she opened with, her words now lacking any of their usual charm or affected niceties. They were no longer required.

“Nine gold pieces a day will be fine and frankly if a kick in the shin gets me one less for cost then I call it a win in the long run. We have a damned bargain,” she continued as she took a long draught of her ale in order to increase its inebriating effects upon her and block out what was sure to be another large bruise on her body, “you didn’t have to petching kick me now. Words would have been enough if you didn’t like my bloody ones that well” she stated matter-of-factly.

Noticing that the warrior woman had taken up her last flagon of ale Zandeli called for another with a more manner and they were delivered quickly enough for Zandelia to fill her clay mug once again and continue to wet her tongue in an attempt at bringing the pain to a halt. Revy Hiroe was obviously a direct women, she had shown that much, stubborn and crude in nature. Zandelia began to place upon her a value akin to an axe – blunt and serviceable. It was an amusing notion that she chose to keep to herself out of a wish not to incur further bruises. Still, the woman before her clearly thought little of Zandelia and to that effect it was her failing. Zandelia may have been smaller and weaker, but her cunning was greater still – she would have what she wanted and if the woman was not smart enough she would have more besides after her behaviour.

I wonder how she will feel when she realises that she will be doing most of the work whilst I reap the benefits. Paid to be labour and a shield. And shield take many knocks indeed she thought to herself as she framed her next response in her mind carefully.

“You wanted ale and you have it. You wanted a price and it has been given. Now you get to hear of what is expected of you Revy Hiroe,” she began, her words direct, “and a task it shall be. We will be attacking and destroying a few small slavers’ businesses. They have few guards and will not be hard to ransack. However the tasks are sure to draw attention. You may be able to improve your reputation should we survive. They will probably have a safe or two to keep their earnings in and any information we garner is mine by right – you have no use for it at any rate” she continued bluntly. There was no use keeping the other woman in the dark about her plans.

“Once I have gained the location of a certain other place of interest within the walls of Sunberth we shall be going there. Only that will require more cunning than muscle, something that you should attempt to garner in that respect. There we shall find enough riches for you to roll around in indeed and we shall take as much as we can carry. If, along the way, we free some slaves and get rid of some pests in this cess pool then all the better” she ended with, not telling her the suspected location of the last event and hoping she would not be asked – though the woman seemed to be getting drunk enough to not even care.

“You have this one chance to turn back and not accept should you wish, but then who would pay for your ale and where would you find as much opportunity?” she asked her as she extended her hand to seal the bargain in the traditional manner.

And may you be scarred a few time for the efforts too she added mentally as she vented the last vestiges of her anger.

“Do we have an accord?” she asked once more, looking the woman directly in her rapidly glazing eyes.

She hoped she would accept. As companions went she did not seem overly bad, she was capable and not too hard on the eyes either. Zandelia did not really wish to traipse around wasting further time seeking other allies for her little venture either, when all was said and done.

The mercenary smirked as the woman across her gave the exact reaction she was hoping for. "I kick whoever I want, missy. A girl like you can't change anything 'bout that.", she snapped at the girl. It was clear that this particular woman saw her contractor as a girl, not as an adult. In her eyes, that girl lacked experience, but this was a big mistake on her part.

Hearing the remark at the end of the sentence infuriated Revy. Calling her an idiot that couldn't do a thing with information? What did this girl think of her, all brawn and no brain? Well time to set that straight. "You calling me stupid, gal? Say that again and I'll have your head. Job or no job, no one insults me, ya hear?", she bit at Zandelia. She gulped down another mug right after, her sight went a little hazy. "Oh crap, getting really drunk now. Gotta wrap this up, before I make a mistake., she thought to herself.

"Apologize and you've got yourself the best hired sword aroun'. Ye can trust me on that.", the woman said with a slightly double tongue. The alcohol was starting to really affect her and that was either a good or really dangerous situation for Zandelia and the rest of the bar. It had happend before that an inn had to close down, because of damage Revy had caused. The worst case was a bar that had to close completely, because the building was beyond repair.

[Flashback]From blood to bargaining (Zandelia)

The situation was rapidly becoming a dual natured one for Zandelia, as if existence were literally becoming shaped like the edge of a knife and whichever way she moved she was getting cut. The warrior woman wanted direct and so Zandelia gave her direct, however her blunt words were kindling a pent up rage within the woman – which had not been the intent at all. Previously Zandelia had resorted to her manipulatively charming guises, secretly using her auristics to lead the conversation, clumsily as it had been done, and to gain information of character. She was now beginning to wonder if Revy Hiroe had much character to her at all, beyond the ability to chug down flagons of ale and get volcanically angry about simplicities. Her anger showed as a steely glint in her single green eye but she kept her composure level and reigned in, with a little effort it had to be said.

Girl am I? Well, we shall see how you fare in the morning when you have a thumping head and less pay than expected for dangerous work. I wonder how victoriously jubilant you will feel then Revy Hiroe she thought to herself as she took a number of deep breaths to calm herself further – more than aware that the other patrons were also awaiting the next exchange between them both.

“Fine, you have your apology. I am sorry I questioned your intelligence. I am sure it is more than sufficient for what I have in mind” she spoke back, trying to keep her voice from morphing into a biting and venomous tone.

She took another sip of her ale and frowned into the shallow amount of liquid left within her clay mug, filling it once more with what she hoped was not sewage by its colour. She grimaced as she took another sip, buying a few seconds to let herself and the other woman at the table to calm down. No words needed to be said in anger at that time and, in truth, if they had been said she was not sure which one of them would have come off the worse for wear. Zandelia may not have had bulging muscles but she had guile and trickery on her side – not to mention a skull that could dent stone. Still, a brawl was not what she was at the tavern for and she could not help but smile surreptitiously into the rim of her cup when the other patrons loosened up and a friendlier atmosphere seemed to filters into the air from nowhere.

Damned warriors and their tempers. Who ever told them to let it rule them? Do they never learn that it will one day get them killed? she wondered as she studied the other woman once more.

Massively inebriated now Zandelia judged it would not take much more for the warrior woman to pass out dead drunk. Still, her rage worried Zandelia. It spoke of something more than what had been discussed this day between them and she had gleaned an inkling that it ran deeper than she would ever know – though she was sure she could comprehend. It was how others must see herself when slavers were mentioned in a positive light within earshot. Zandelia held an anger that festered also, though she controlled it better she would assert. She was beginning to hope that the other woman could control it too, otherwise things could become nasty very quickly indeed. The last thing that was needed was for Revy Hiroe to go berserk when on a mission. That would jeopardise them both and would need to be factored into all equations from now onwards – Zandelia saw that.

“To concluded business then, Revy Hiroe. May our fortunes be great” she toasted, a cruel notion at semi-revenge creeping into her mind now.

The woman would be useless until the morning when she was sober, and as such what happened now was merely for enjoyment on a very personal level. She knew Revy would not stop drinking and in point of fact encouraged that train of action. She would get the woman so addled and inebriated that she wouldn’t know where, or who, she damn well was. The morning would bring a hellish searing pain to her entire body and she would be lucky if she did not vomit. None insulted and kicked Zandelia without recompense, and she was very good indeed at making revenge seem more akin to a helpful gesture than a knife in the ribs.

“Come Revy, let’s finish some more ale. I’m sure I can stretch to some more in celebration of a deal well made. Let’s enjoy ourselves” she spoke, in friendly tones, as she ordered yet more flagons of ale for the massive woman before her – interested to see how much it would take to complete her initiatives.

Vengeance is made all too sweet when the victim commits it themselves. Whenever possible it is the most delicious theatre to watch and the most satisfying outcome to experience she thought to herself as she raised her mug to yet another toast of a successful union between them.

The mercenary looked at the woman before her as she apologized. "Apologies accepted.", she sneered. She had heard the undertone, however well hidden, in the voice of her. It fueled her anger even more, but she just had to get through that part, seeing that she was a contractor now. Hurting ones contractor isn't a good business for mercenaries, unless ofcourse they refuse to pay.

The offer of more ale made Revy's head spin. She had enough for today, as she had forgotten her previous job now. But something else came back drifting up, something that came back each time she got drunk and that was her killing the man of Ruth. A woman in Ravok she didn't know by face, only by name. "Crap, can't have that returning. Not when I'm drunk like this..... got to petching hide that weakness.", she thought as she felt tears brimming. Though outwards she didn't show anything besides an angered face yet again.

"No thanks, had enough for now. Thanks anyway.", the woman replied with a double tongue. Her head spun of the cheap beverage and she already knew that from this piece of shyke drink she'd be getting a massive hangover. But that was something she accepted as most drinks caused that. It was at least better then destroying everything in her path, because of pent up anger.

Zandelia smiled at the woman, a truthful smile of amusement and generous nature – something which was not often seen and when it was not by many at all. It was curious that the woman opposite her now would turn aside her generous offer of further ale and merriment, especially after spending much of their time together doing just what she had now refused to continue, and with such vigour she had set about the task before too. Still, Zandelia had already ordered that which was upon the table, the tavern girl bringing them to the table with a warm smile and a slither of a hug, hinting at what might soon arrive before her should she choose to purchase a room. As such Zandelia had no real option other than to set abut drinking much of the purchased liquid by herself. She poured out several clay mugs, asking for four from the girl which were placed upon the table with an inclination of the head and a cunningly pulled down top, hinting at further soft curves to be explored by the adventurous.

“Very well then Revy Hiroe, but custom is custom and tradition should never be ignored,” Zandelia spoke in earnest, raising her cup to the air between the two of them, “to business and strife. May one be successful, the other be ripe” she intoned forcefully, bringing one of the cups to her lips and draining it with one long swallowing motion.

She set about finishing the other three also, the speed with which she went about doing so something she knew she would come to regret in no short amount of time. The warrior woman before her was thoroughly drunk too, though whether she had met the toast and taken up the still standing off Zandelia did not take notice of. The flagons would be there upon the table in front of the woman and if she chose to use them then all the better. If Revy Hiroe did not drink them then the other patrons would not leave them altogether too long alone before consuming their free contents with earnest. She grinned hugely across the table, taking a few moments to almost leer at the warrior, taking in her strong frame, the rippling muscles and the softness of the skin she could imagine touching, caressing and showing it the very meaning of ecstasy.

If only she were less fiery and more buxom she would make a very good tumble indeed. At the moment she would be more inclined to crush me than tease me she thought to herself as, over Revy’s shoulder, the barmaid caught her eye and waved a key in the air with a shameless wink.

“Beautiful girl” she muttered out loud as she tried to keep her eyesight steady and heaved herself to her feet. She picked up the half-empty flagon that was her own and leaned down to look at Revy closely, her vision beginning to double after a little distance.

“Well then Revy Hiroe, this is where we part ways for now. I have a room in the inn and the girls could tell you where it is should you need a place to lay your head before we begin our great work,” she began, her words pronounced very carefully so as to not become illegible, “though I’d advise you not to come up in the next hour or so. I have…business…to attend to with the barmaid. Drink more should it please you as I’ve paid for it anyway” she continued with a grin and a chuckle.

“It was nice to do business with you warrior, and I think we will be quite good together. Now, if you can excuse me I must scratch an itch. I shall see you here tomorrow morning, hangover or not!” she finished as she placed her hand upon Revy Hiroe’s shoulder and walked around her towards the stairs.

It was a pleasant trip up them, though trip she did manage to do several times indeed. Soft lips met biting teeth. Tongues inter-twined and hands roamed across flesh, clothing, muscle and more. By the time she was at the top of them both the barmaid and herself had bite marks across their person and their clothing was in disarray. She entered their room, rolling onto the bed and watched as the barmaid stripped and locked the door, turning to show herself to Zandelia in her full blossoming beauty. All Zandelia could think as the inevitable heaven began was a simple thought indeed.

Life is good this day

[Flashback]From blood to bargaining (Zandelia)

Postby Revy Hiroe on November 13th, 2011, 9:32 pm

Revy looked at the ale in front of her and swallowed lightly. After seeing the woman down that mug of ale, she just couldn't pass it up and toasted with her. "To..... business...... and strife.", she said with a double tongue, before emptying the mug in her throat. "Can't go around a custom now can I?", she thought to herself.

"Have a nishe tumble..... with shat barmaid.", the mercenary said at the words of the woman in front of her. Right now, Revy was completely smashed, not able to see clear or even think clear. She felt her rage burning a little again, but managed to keep it under control, or well, for now that was. "Will come whensh I come... don't worry."

The large woman saw the barmaid and the contractor off and was about to start on the second mug of ale, when she saw that another patron had taken it. It was enough to send the smashed mercenary into a blind rage. He dared to touch HER ale? Well..... that wasn't such a smart move at all. Apparently he hadn't heard of Revy's reputation as an inn destructor.

"That's my ale you petching son of a Charodae.", she said as she launched her fist to the patron's face. Steel met bone and the most obvious thing happened. Bone gave way and broke with a sickening noise. The ale went over the floor and that only fueled Revy's anger even more. But before she was able to completely smash everything in her way, another patron, who did know her reputation, hit her over the head with his fist, knocking her out clean.

"Get her to that other woman's room, can't have her bust this place.", he said to one of the barmaids.
The barmaid nodded and gathered a couple others to carry the drunk mercenary up to Zandelia's room, coupled with her luggage. They only knocked at the door and placed Revy against the wall. They knew better then to enter a guestroom that just took a fellow barmaid up to it.

[Flashback]From blood to bargaining (Zandelia)

Postby Archelon on December 21st, 2011, 10:46 pm

Epilogue:

Mysterious Tidings...

Zandelia... it was a name of someone who might have good or bad fortune amidst the streets of Sunberth. A woman who stumbled upon some of the more interesting things. And that night with the barmaid was one of them...

However... what was happening outside her range of perspective? What deep dark mysteriess lurked in the shadows of the alleyways? She was a seeker of secrets, a delver into things others did not want known. Perhaps one day soon... something might find her instead of her finding it.

Deep within one alleyway where mists gathered, a pair of red eyes opened for a moment, staring balefully off into the distance as if at nothing, before they shut just as quickly... were anyone to have looked there, in that spot, amidst the night or the day, they would have sworn nothing was there... Perhaps they were right.

Perhaps...

Only time would tell.
