Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

12th of Winter, 511 AV

Alric clutched his new coat close to his body as a vicious wind tore through the street. Alric had had quite a good season since opening his business. He had made more Miza than he had ever seen at one time. Probably his whole life, now that he thought about it. He had been able to afford a proper coat just as winter began to descend upon Alvadas. A white furred beauty of a thing. The man had called it a "Winterbane" robe. Alric certainly thought it was aptly named, as it masterfully kept the chilling wind from cutting into his flesh.

He had spent more than he was ready too, but he was certain that his purchases would come in handy in the future. As he skipped over a puddle, he held fast to the rapier he had bought to keep it from jingling. He hadn't meant to buy a weapon, but the man who had sold it was rather persuasive. After all, magic could only get you so far without driving you mad. And so, it would be extremely handy to learn to wield it. Granted, Alric had no idea how to use it at the moment, but he had a good idea as to who may be able to teach him.

As he turned a corner, hoping to find his home waiting for him, the street narrowed, the only buildings being businesses and long-abandoned shacks. The street was slick with a mysterious goo that Alric thought it best not to think about. His stomach growled as he strutted across the street. Alric was rather hungry, and he had no way of knowing when he'd be allowed to reach the Wilmot Manor. Alvadas was not always on friendly terms with him, and he didn't want to spend any more time than he had to in the chilling weather.

With those thoughts, he spotted The Withered Rose, a restaurant he had gone to maybe a total of 7 times within his entire life. All of which were celebrations, and even then his Father was adamant about not making it a habit. Still, he was climbing up on the ladder of life, and he thought it might not be so bad to celebrate that fact.

With a flurry of movement he huddled his coat closer to his body and headed over, intent on enjoying a hot meal and escaping the cold.

[The Withered Rose] Meetings and Greetings. (Kale)

Kale moved along the streets of Alvadas as he always did. He neither hurried nor took his time. He had spent a great deal of time in the city and knew that it did not matter how fast or slow you went when it came to finding your destination. You either found it or you didn't. For the most part the city of illusions was kind to its inhabitants. For those that were new to the city it was a bit harder to find your way. The city was disorienting for those that were used to streets and buildings being in the same place and street day after day.

Of course the city itself sometimes acted against those that were new to it. If a city could have emotions Kale would have guessed that the city found amusement in how it treated some new comers. After all what could be funnier than watching how angry someone became when they walked in a straight line for hours and arrived back at the place in which they had started? What could be more amusing then letting a traveler see his destination as close as a single street away from where he currently was and yet when he went to traverse the side street the traveler would find himself moving away from his objective?

Kale had resided in Alvadas long enough that it seemed the city had tired of playing such games with him. It still did such things on occasion. After all even those who had been born here sometimes just could not find their way through the city. Kale was looking for one of Alvadas' two premier drinking spots. It did not really matter to him which of the two that he encountered first. He might not be able to find the other one if he decided to be picky. It had been two days since the encounter with the slavers.

The warrior and his kelvic comrade Almech had returned the day before. They had both went looking for a drink then too. That attempt had not ended too well. He had drunk some but he had not had his fill of spirits yet. Kale shied away from the light of a nearby torch as he passed it. He kept the hood of his cloak up, covering his features. He was well enough known in Alvadas to not want the attention his identity might draw if he was recognized. A wind blasted down the street he was moving along and caused him to clutch his cloak to him even more tightly.

The gladiator was no expert when it came to the turning of weather yet it was more than apparent that the seasons were changing and the temperature would only continue to drop. Kale was beginning to see thin clouds of mist every time he let out a breath. Luckily he spotted one of his possible destinations ahead. Now the trick would be to get there without one of the streets changing before he arrived. Luck was with him tonight as he managed to make it to the Inn without Alvadas changing its location on him.

Be realistic when playing with Kale. Chained Ones are rare. He has no undead traits that someone can tell. There for you do not know he is undead. Until he exhibits extreme qualities outside of what a human would you can not even tell he is not human. Once he does you will NOT know what he is, only then he is not human. There for you DO NOT suddenly know how to kill him.If you some how know that he is an undead creature without a plausible reason then I will seek moderator intervention on the matter.

[The Withered Rose] Meetings and Greetings. (Kale)

Postby Alric Wilmot on December 17th, 2011, 2:21 am

As Alric entered the Withered Rose, he quickly noticed that the place was far more occupied than it had ever been within his memories. The entire place was filled with patrons of all different walks of life. From the seedy and desperate, to the young and passionate, all manner of people seemed to have found this place a refuge from the cold. Even a few non-humans had found the Withered Rose a suitable place to take cover. Alric shifted his eyes over the crowd, hoping to find an open table. For a while, it seemed he'd have to make due with sitting with one of the current patrons.

However, he was delightfully proven wrong as a human couple slipped out of the doorway, leaving a lone table unoccupied. He quickly took the table before anyone else coming into the establishment could claim it. With a curious expression, he noticed that the rose upon the table was white, rather than red as he assumed the couple would have wanted. It was rather odd, but in all honesty, Alric didn't particularly care. Almost as soon as he sat down, Alric was approached by one of the waitresses. She was rather attractive, as far as Alric could tell. However he also found the way she carried herself... unpleasant for some reason. He paid her minimal attention and simply mentioned that he'd like to order the Chicken.

He hadn't had meat in a long while, not able to afford it at regular intervals. So he rightfully thought of this as a real treat. He declined the wine, and sat in a comfortable pose, soaking up the warmth of the place. The entire place had quite the relaxing atmosphere.

Alric nearly nodded off, until a cold rush of wind blew into his face. Someone had opened the door. Alric, knowing that the person would have to sit with someone in the restaurant or remain standing, decided to be courteous. He looked over to see an average looking man in leather armor. Alric would bet money that this man was a fighter by profession. Not simply because of the armor, mind you. But by the way he carried himself. Alric intrigued, waved the man over. He was eager to converse with someone, and he honestly didn't care who that someone might be. So, this fighter would do just fine.
