Well, last week was a busy week. I started a new job in a new city that required me to sit in a cubicle and actually get dressed before 10am instead of answer emails over coffee in my pajamas. I jumped right into moving websites over from ASP to WordPress, but a wrench was thrown into my productivity when the web server crashed and no one could figure out how to fix it, not even by Friday. We're hoping it didn't eat itself; there's a LOT of information that needs rescuing off that machine. I ended up spending the rest of the week "putting out fires" for other marketing folks—email templates that were supposed to be finished yesterday and t-shirt designs for an upcoming event. You'd think they were just waiting for me all this time or something. It felt good, and everyone there seems really awesome to work with.
When I wasn't working, specifically on my lunch break, nice work people dragged me willingly downtown (across the street) to feed me delicious food. It was fantastic.
I didn't have the toddler telling me he was hungry or needed to pee or wanted to read a book every 45 minutes while I was writing PHP or editing a vector image, so I felt really strangely productive. Not that I didn't miss the boy. I didn't get to see my hubby all week except for Wednesday when he picked up the toddler to take back to Lynchburg and meet his mom who came down for her birthday. So, despite the fun, it was really kinda lonely.
This week, I'll be by myself again. We signed a lease to our new rental house last Wednesday and will be moving next weekend. We're excited about that because the house is great!
Anyway, I'm slowly trying to get back into posting and figuring things out for a Summer that's almost over and a Fall that's just around the corner. If anyone has any ideas, I'm game. I'm still trying to figure out how to find a balance, which may take a while as I adjust to a new city and a new job. Not to mention a new baby, which will be here in December ... and that's not far away at this point.
So. Hey. That's what's been up.
Crazy things, but almost all of them have been good (except for spraining my foot, which is better now). Heehee.
