So I'm a little late to this party, but I have wanted to throw my two cents in. How to not give a ****: Step 1: Give a ****. You might say, now Alex, what's the point in doing that, isn't this entirely counter intuitive to my whole goal of NOT giving a ****? and I would say, why yes Jules you're precisely right, but if you don't give a **** about anything, then you become something we call a rogue element, you need to give some ****s in order to maintain a healthy balance of giving a **** and not giving a **** so like Cloud said, its a good thing you care in the first place. Step 2: Accepting how much you in fact do give a ****. I won't elaborate on this one since you seem to have a good handle on this part of it. gestures to rant above. Step 3: Try to imagine the perspective of the new player on Miz. I realize this is exactly what you are illustrating, but when I first found this site, there was so much to read I barely looked at other PC's of my chosen race to see if I was doing it right. I actually joined this site in the 2010 time frame and made a Drykas and Inarta whom I cannot for the life of me remember what they were called, but I know the Inartan was horrendously horrible, and was chided about her extensively (She tried to leave Wind Reach and I think it might have been with her eagle...or her eagle died, some ridiculously horrible plot.) The content of this site could fill several books, and from the beginning there are all of these well established players and relationships within the site, intimidating standards to live up to and this giant mass of writing, reading, and thought required. It's a perfect plan really for it weeds out the incompetent and the unimaginative rather swiftly, I just think keeping in mind the sheer amount of time it took you to settle into the comfortable place you have now in regards to the nooblets covered in noob sauce is something essential to giving less ****s. I hope that makes sense...lol. And now the real reason I popped into your scrap. JP :
