[The Rearing Stallion] A choice of light and dark

Postby Perc on March 10th, 2013, 12:58 pm

Perc couldn't help but let out an amused laugh as the wolf pup got curious and poked his head over at the table. which got the wolf pup a firm reprimand of fallon. "Somebody is getting bored, maybe you should ask the tavern if they haven't got a big bone for him to chew on or something. So he keeps busy."

The sarcasm in the red haired woman's voice completely went unnoticed by Perc. "I have been in the city since the 6th of spring. I lived the rest of my life in the mythrin outpost just ten miles south of here, so I know at least as much as the other guy on the street about syliras and whats around it. Maybe even more since I actually went outside the city once in a while." He shook his head when the maid asked him what he wanted to drink, showing his still mostly full mug of ale.

"I know that the body is important and all."
perc started in response to the comments on body training. "I just find it annoying that all I'm allowed to do is body training while others are already starting with weapon training at their first day alongside their training of the body. Besides isn't learning to fight with a weapon also training your body?" Perc shrugged his shoulders. "But yeah, maybe he just sees I'm already big and got some muscle on me and just wants to capitalize on that. Or just wants to test my resolve to be a knight or something like that." He smiled at Fallon's comment of her being to small for strength training like that. "They will figure something out for that fall. Patrons are good at things like that."

[The Rearing Stallion] A choice of light and dark

Postby Azcadelia on March 10th, 2013, 6:38 pm

As Fallon, Perc and Lucy talked Azcadelia was toying with her wine. The oldest of the wine was dark, the youngest was bright red. She sipped from the darker one, sweet. The lighter was tasted of tart, but was not unpleasant. Once Perc had finished talking Azcadelia smiled at him, as if she had listened through the whole thing. Azzy felt detached from the group, though she didn't want to be; it was just instinct, not getting too comfortable, too trusting. "I've been in the city since beginning of Winter," Azcadelia spoke to the table while stirring the contents of her drink with a finger. But, the finger was not in the wine it was hovering above the glass yet the contents still swirled.

"Fallon," she turned to the pale woman, surprisingly Azcadelia had more colour to her skin than she, "are you a squire as well? If you are we may have some common interests, in the Knights that is, nothing else, mind you." Azcadelia ended her sentence with a trademarked white smile.

[The Rearing Stallion] A choice of light and dark

Postby Lucy Tides on March 10th, 2013, 7:04 pm

Lucy smiled at the curious pup and was sad to see him go back under the table at his master's orders. 'Oh he's just so cute.' In a few moments the barmaid came back and set down a tall mug of dark ale in front of her. Lucy wrapped her fingers around the handle and lifted the mug to her lips before taking a hearty swig. She set the mug down with a sigh and had a playful smile now. Unlike most Svefra who were known for their partying, Lucy was known for not being able to hold her own. 'I should slow down.'

Lucy listened to Perc and looked at him for the first time. Her eyes traced over his muscles that seemed to bulge out of his clothing and the way he sat suggested well back and abdominal muscles. Her eyes stopped on his hands, which seemed to be those of a working man. 'Well of course he's a squire and he did mention something about his past before that but how come I didn't notice that before?' Lucy shook her head at her horribly observation skills.

The woman's ears picked up something strange in the way Azzy mentioned the knights and her interests in it. She didn't much care though since she had nothing to do with them so she continued to talk to Perc. "You know a lot about Syliras then? Mind showing me around sometime?" Lucy asked while daring to take another gulp of ale. Her head felt fuzzy and her body felt warm. 'Oops oh well.' Lucy giggled a bit and stared down at the ale now. 'Wonder if this was a good idea...'

Fallon listened carefully, though seeming disinterested at the same time. Her eyes were transfixed to the bottom of her mug, as if she was deeply pondering upon getting another. She heard Perc’s words, and gave a small nod to them; it was encouraging to say the least to hear such words from him. Even if the pair of them were still wet behind the ears. Yet as Azcadelia spoke once more, her tongue became direct and sharp. Not to the point of prying, but to the point that all subtleties were lost and her plans were made more aware. And then there was something else that caught the attention of Fallon.

Her eyes lifted slightly from the rim of the mug, and stared upon the wine glass, the burgundy liquid filling it. But as she focused upon it more closely, did she see the liquid ripple. At first she thought it little more than her imagination, but the more she looked, the more it was clear that the contents swirled around. She gave a snort, before putting in a quick remark.
“Best think about getting another drink,” she purred into her mug. Not that she was going to any time soon.
Stupid woman.
She heard Lucy let out a sigh, and Fallon was returned to reality. Whatever she was doing was now between her and Perc, and so Fallon was left with the redhead. But it was those words of the woman that made her think and made her focus. But most importantly, they made her wary. Fallon’s eyes drew away from the mug and settled upon Azcadelia, her green eyes locking.
“I am a squire. But, if…” Fallon begun, her voice growing cool and calculated “You have business with the Knights; you should take it to the Knights. We are not messengers after all. Even if it is little more than common interest.”
Be on you guard, she thought as she lowered a hand to her lap and out of sight under the table, And get ready for things to turn ugly.

Azcadelia watched Fallon turn in on herself, in a defensive manner. The motion didn't startle her, it made her laugh a little. The red haired maiden took the time to play with her words by saying, "Oh, come on, Fall, can I call you that? If I meant you harm I'd have already done it. I doubt you could stop me in your buzzed state." The cocky mage takes a sip from the dark red wine. "Put your guard down, please. I mean no harm. I simply want to ask you if you could escort me to the Knights headquarters, I want to join as a spy. Is that too much to ask?" Azcadelia drained the dark wine, set the cup down and gave a friendly smile to Fallon, awaiting an answer.

Postby Perc on March 12th, 2013, 8:15 pm

"I know my way around the city for the most part yes. So if I have some time off from my training I probably could give you a tour around the citadel." Perc said in a friendly voice as he took a sip from his ale. "I'll try and keep an ear open for when my patron is letting me have some off days." Perc barely finished that sentence when he heard azca's mention of her harming fall however, his smile instantly slid of his face. Anger slowly began to boil underneath his skin. He slammed his almost empty mug on the table. as he gave the woman the most icy stare he could muster.

"First you threaten her and then you ask fall to let her guard down? And then you tell her you want to join the knights? did you get dropped on your head or are you just stupid." Perc said in a blunt and harsh tone that was in stark contrast to his earlier friendly behavior. "She isn't alone here and if you attack a squire in the middle of syliras the knights are going to get you sooner then later and throw you into the mines for the rest of your life." He glared at the woman. "You understand that?" Perc carefully waited for an answer, he was still tired but he was already gathering up whatever scraps of energy he could scrape together for a short violent scrap to beat the woman in the dust if it proved necessary . His right hand gripped the side of the table in a vice like grip.

Lucy nodded at Perc and smiled. "Thank you, much appreciated." Lucy said and then things got a bit dicey. She wasn't paying to much attention to what Fallon had said but Azzy seemed to be giving mixed signals. She watched silently as the two squires became angry at the young red head. 'Can't blame 'em. The lady's daft by the way she's actin.I don't care for a brawl though, reminds me of the time I met Adiliana and Theo.' "Oh so that's when I met her." Lucy said in Fratava and swung the cup of ale back to her mouth then followed in suit of Perc by slamming her empty mug down.

"Young missy, if you're so interested in the knights, then why do you need an escort? I mean, wouldn't you already know where it is and who to talk to?" Lucy said in common although some Fratava had slipped in. She licked her lips and shot Azzy a look she didn't give many. Her eyes narrowed and her muscles seemed to tense as she was ready to jump the young maiden at any moment. 'Everyone's all riled up, So I suppose I should be too.'

Fallon did not have to say anything. Or more over, she was not give time to say anything. For before she was even given the opportunity to open her lips, Perc had answered for her. In both mind and action. Though perhaps she would of put a little more tact in the actual words, they still held their meaning. But what perhaps surprised her more the speaking up of the Svefra, a situation that she was not necessarily involved in. Fallon held her gaze to Azcadelia, cool, unwavering. A challenge had been made to her, but was she going to buckle to it? Not a chance. Fallon placed the mug down, her face turning to one of calm. Unlike the other two, she was not going to respond in a calmer tone.

“So,” Fallon Skylar leaned back slightly in her chair, her fingers lacing together across her stomach “You wish to see the Knights. You wish to join their side, Our side,” she gestured calmly to both herself and Perc at this moment in time “As a Spy?”
It what a rhetorical question, no hint of warmth or cold, a simple crisp monotone state. It was at this moment that the young woman began dipping into her mind, to her Djed. Fallon inhaled “Yet, you firstly lay down advancement against I, and then request that I release my guard? Now tell me, Miss Azcadelia Rosan, if you were told such things would you not worry who you were dealing with?”

Fallon’s eyes came down to a narrowed point as she focused; she felt her left arm begin to tremble as she readied that limb to project itself outwards, “Let me point our another thing, you my dear have lived in Syliras for a good season, and no doubt know your way around already, unless you have locked yourself within your room for all of it But, I digress. Let me get onto the main point that has… alarmed me the most. You claim that you have something to offer the Knights, to be a spy, but the fact you ask others for your assistance raises suspicion. No offence intended there. But the fact you announce it so willingly, without a second thought concerns me. It suggest that you believe us ignorant fools, that we will not have loose lips and will not spread your chosen profession among others,” Fallon’s lip curled into a smile at this point. She felt the strings that held her limb slowly begin to unravel, the astral slowly pulling away from the physical, though only just, a moment of preparation for what may occur “But, it also makes me wonder if you truly are one to be trusted. For who knows what information you may sell on? Who knows, perhaps you are a double agent. Someone working to overthrow the knights. I could throw ideas about all night though,” Fallon leaned forward in her chair at that point “Just know one thing though… there is only one of you… and three of us, along with all this tavern. Do you really, really wish to play this game?”

[The Rearing Stallion] A choice of light and dark

Postby Azcadelia on March 12th, 2013, 10:02 pm

Heads were turning throughout the entire Stallion, the table in the corner know was a powder keg on the verge of explosion. Azcadelia kept cool as both Perc and Lucy, who had thought was kind, leaped at her throat figuratively speaking. However the way Fallon reacted was different from the two, unlike them she was calm and collected. Azcadelia sensing if she said the wrong word began to draw upon the Djed within her, willing to duel her way to safety. First she'd try a diplomatic approach.

"Perc and Lucy, please calm down. There is no true reason to be jumping to conclusions. You assume that I wish to hurt Fallon when in truth, I do not. I was simply stating a fact, that if I did have the intent to hurt Fallon I would have by now. If I wasn't here for friendly purposes why on earth would I hesitate, why would I trap myself in a tavern with squires and the Syliras Knights patrolling outside. I would surely be dead if I attempted to kill Fallon, or you, here and now. Now, Lucy, I think you've had far to many drinks, even if it was just that one," she motioned with a petite finger to the ale, "that now you've gotten riled up in an act of following, where are your true feelings?"

Azcadelia dismissed Perc and Lucy from her mind for the time being and surveyed the heads in the bar, all casting their naive and curious gazes her way; all were watching her, waiting for her beat down. Then, she flickered her gaze to Fallon. With a warm smile she said, "I announced my intentions to willingly because they are true intentions. I do not mean you harm at all. Also I did not mean to insult you by calling you lot ignorant, not at all," she flashed eyes of apology to Lucy and Perc. "But as squires I was aware that you aren't allowed to discuss Knight business outside Knight Headquarters, and this, I would think, qualifies as Knight business because of my seeking of employment by them. Also, I am not asking you to trust me nor to not trust me, simply believe me. There is a fine line between the former and latter I assure you, but what I say is true. I wish to be a spy for the Knights, I wish to lend my slick manner of diplomacy, witty tongue, beautiful ways and reimancy to the Knights; to my home guarding men."

Azcadelia sat up in her chair and took a sip of the lighter, bitter red wine. "Fallon, answering your last question, on why haven't I already sought employment, it is because even though I have been here since the middle of winter I was preoccupied by family causes. You see, my father use to run a crime ring right outside of the Syliras' control. He chose to expand it even greater and guess what happen," Azcadelia chuckled to herself, "he was caught, and imprisoned. Now he resides in the Syliras dungeons begging for scraps. Because I was his only child, his daughter, his heiress, I had to go to his headquarters and establish order. I failed obviously. Now I am here, seeking employment from your employers. No harm, no foul. I haven't been able to explore throughly because of family issues, as previously stated. So I hoped it wasn't too much to ask if you, and your squire companion could have escorted me, or pointed me in the direction of the Knights." Azcadelia ended her gallantry and drained the rest of the light wine before turning to face Fallon again, this time closely, their faces a mere inches from one another. "Fall, I hope I can call you that, I like you, I like you a lot. Maybe after this I can treat you to more beer, till your heart's content?"

The bar laid quiet and motionless waiting for the table to either blow up or simmer away. Hoping more for the former.

[The Rearing Stallion] A choice of light and dark

Postby Perc on March 13th, 2013, 7:25 pm

Perc couldn't believe his ears as he heart the response to Fallon's comments. And the almost outrageous lie she was telling about her father running a crime ring around syliras. As if the knights wouldn't know anything about a crime ring right near their own citadel. Also her mentioning reimancy really got perc on the edge. He didn't know exactly what it was, but even he knew that it was magic of some sort.. or at least it sounded like magic stuff. He didn't want a mage, especially a mage he didn't know at all and who seemed to lack in common sense.

"Truth, fact, I highly doubt you know what those words are if we gave you a dictionary. Since you have only been saying absolute bullshit." Perc replied to her excuses with all the grace of a drunken bull. "First off, we are allowed to talk about knight stuff in front of others non knights. We just aren't the people to talk to about joining up. We are squires, trainees we have about as much say and weight in the organization as you have diplomatic skill. Seeing as you managed to piss of three people by just opening your trap." Perc continued, refusing to let anybody else get a word in edgewise.

"Secondly, I admit I might be a tad gullible, but even I know that all that talk about a crime ring around syliras is just plain bullshit. The knights run a tight ship, no small crook can get anything of the ground under their sight." Perc wasn't giving a petch that other people in the pub where watching their table now.

"lastly, you might say you didn't mean anything but I remember hearing you threaten my fellow squire in a glaringly obvious manner. You aren't going to bullshit yourself out of that with a bunch of false words, I'm not taking any chances with my friends." Perc said in a final and no nonsense tone.
"As for where the knights recruitment place is. go to the entrance of syliras, follow that road into the city until you get to the market, keep to the left and you should see signs leading you the way. If you got any common sense and brains still left in your head it won't be a problem to find it."
