[Wind Reach OOC] Touching The Sky

Welcome to Wind Reach!

While the city is not yet open, there will be frequent updates that begin with the Inarta being placed in the Wiki in their entirety followed by the specific details of Wind Reach itself. Along with a complete City Entry in the wiki, Wind Reach will also include a comprehensive players guide filled with RP tips and pointers for surviving in this challenging environment.

Wind Reach is a unique roleplaying environment that is designed to be both challenging on an individual basis and on a group level. The whole of Mt. Skyinarta's existence depends on overarching plotlines that effect the whole of Mizahar - so each and every one of her citizens will be playing a crucial role in the future of the history of the world. Full of mysteries wrapped in an enigma, Wind Reach is considered the City of Secrets by the outside world. Remote, incredibly dangerous and difficult to visit, Wind Reach is designed to lure players to its tragic interdependence and keep them wanting more.

The Wind Reach entry in the Wiki is complete. I will be flushing out area locations in the next few days and adding NPCs for a greater perspective. I anticipate the launch of Wind Reach will be this weekend.

I'm on the prowl for an Assistant Storyteller for Wind Reach. I know once we get open, if the trends are as usual, we'll be quickly overwhelmed here and need some help. Here's a link to the want-add. It's posted in the character matchmaker forum.

I just wanted to let everyone know I'm doing a lot of work behind the scenes. I think... I'll most likely have the city fully opened this Sunday and have an Introduction thread for whomever wants to play in it. I just have to do some massive cut & paste into the actual game itself to be all ready to go. And upload, of course, tons of NPC images.

That should take me most of Saturday, of which I'll have to work as well. So, I'm betting on Sunday for our official opening.

We are officially open, even though most of the location descriptions aren't up. I will be finishing them and fleshing out NPCs as the week goes by. Feel free to start your pc's up or start contacting me about activities in WR. I should have the players guide up in a week or two. I want to be very thorough about posting the first official doc like that on Miza.

And also.. we're getting a brand spanking new AS... so you guys can and will have lots of moderator coverage.

I'm going to be putting together three quests in the later part of this week that will launch Friday.

One quest is to escort Glav Navik from Syliras to Wind Reach on escort duty. These PCs can be anywhere in Sylir to start out - and this quest will take most of the Summer Season, but I promise enough XP and encounter situations to make it worth your PC's time. This will also be blazing a 'trade route' overland and sea from Syliras to WR... so generating a lot of Wiki article material. If you are interested, please PM me. Your pc will (if they survive) end up in Wind Reach. No guarantees on getting back if that's your desire.

Secondly, we'll have two more quests in Wind Reach. One will involve the competition to bond with a young newly fledged eagle. The second one will be a search of the Inner Warrens for a Dek-stolen important artifact. If you are interested in either one of these quests, feel free to PM me or drop a note here.

Our intrepid AS will also have a project of her own quest-wise forthcoming as well.

And, we might launch off with a market-day festival celebrating Summer and to get all the loose PCs rounded up and introduced.

The Bonding Thread is up if you'd like to try your hand at it. There's likely to be some cuthroat action, intrigue, and internal Wind Reach politics involved. Also, the bird will give you a few challenges. It wants to see how you think, and what you are made of.

There's a new Character Registry thread too. Please cut and paste the code and fill out the little questionnaire. It will be enormously valuable for people to realize there are Inarta lurking around, but most of them are hesitant about starting out and not sure where to begin.

I'm so excited to finally see Wind Reach becoming an active and playable city! This place is on my list of 'must visit' locations.

Right now I'm listening to a song that very much reminds me of the city's atmosphere: Last Man Standing by Hybrid. Thought I'd share.
