A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

Clyde listened as they entered, to hear Elaine's response to it. He shook his head, and responded.

"Actually, I am not alone here, I also have a slave that lives here, I'tram. Though to be honest, I more or less let him come and go as he pleases, as long as he works. But it is bigger than it looks. It has bedrooms all along the back walls. And it has a few spare bedrooms, which I have yet to fill. Perhaps later. But I am in no rush."

Clyde looked about. He supposed it was a bit sparse, and what others might consider depressing. He just considered it functional. He did not really need any more.

"And honestly, I am not one to invest mizas into things that serve no purpose beyond being looked at. Things should have a function. So I doubt I will add much more than what is already here. There is not need for it."

As he entered the Magic Lab, he waited for Elaine to enter, and then closed and locked the door. He did not want anyone wandering in, especially someone without permission to enter. Anyone who did would have a key.

He headed over to the lab table, and took out the bowl filled with the different fruits. Berries, cherries, and peas. Or was peas a vegetable? Honestly, he was a bit uncertain as to how it would taste once mixed together. But he had what he had.

Using his hands, he began to mash the ingredients into a pulp, inside of the bowl. The cherries and berries popped with a squish, releasing their juices. The peas just mushed into a green pulpy paste.

It took him a few chimes, to mix the stuff all together. After awhile, the various juices absorbed back into the mass. It left him with a mass of mushed food, of a odd color Clyde could not describe. He was not looking forward to tasting it...

He went over to a water basin on the other side of the room, and thoroughly washed his hands. He would need to toss the water out later. But it was the simplest way to get clean.

And now for the final step of the process before he could change it into soulmist. Blood. He took out a dagger from his bag, and carefully cut open the palm of his hand, while standing with his hand over the bowl. He was careful to make the cut shallow, he wanted it to heal, and to not bleed out.

As his hand began to bleed, and drip blood, he was careful to make sure it landed in the bowl and with the mixed and mashed foods. Once he mixed it once more, it would be ready for the very final step, which would change it.

Slave. Elaine looked at him and she raised her eyebrows. She sighed and looked around. She envied him. At least he had somewhere to sleep or call home. She wouldn't mind a place like that but she wanted a home too. But her home burned down. And the house was huge for her. Few bedrooms, this lab. He nearly had everything. Alfred. Something again came to her mind but she let it be. She went near to him. Alfred. Elaine was staring at him and whispered to him.

"A slave? What has he done? Is he human being? And you have a home... I wish I could have... I don't have anywhere to stay... I miss my safe room."

Alfred. She was watching how he was "cooking". Smashing, smashing. It was like a weird juice. Mass of random fruits and vegetable. Was it tasty? At least she couldn't taste it could she? Clyde washed his hands... then The Silent Lady's mind went crazy again. She started to see her last night again... With Alfred. She was again quivering. The anger grew in her. Then Clyde pour some his blood. Blood. Elaine saw Alfred's head with little blood, just like when she hit him with a rock. It was serious now. She was still weak and voices were talking in her mind. But she was fought. She whispered to him maybe that will call help. Her voice was troublesome...

"Ugh.. and you actually will eat that? That doesn't look delicious. Ugh...okay I'm happy I can't eat now.. honestly Clyde, you have the stomache for it!"

She couldn't think clearly now. She tired but failed. Voices again... she closed her eyes. She was holding her head. As she openned her eyes again she saw Alfred. But she didn't see him since that night. She was hallucinating that man was Clyde. But she couldn't tell. Her mind was full of her old memories about her death. Clyd... Alfred was talking to her. Again those words... about her books and about the womans. Like that night. Elaine anger couldn't be stop now. She wanted to make him suffer. Her face suddenly changed. She looked angry. As she raised her hands she was yelling again at him. She tried to slap him.

"You.... You ... YOU DISGUSTING, PERVERT, SELFISH MAN! I WISH YOU WOULD BE DEAD NOW!! I HATE YOU I HOPE YOU MEET DIRA SOONER THAN YOU ARE EXPECTING IT...."

As she was yelling she slapped him. But her hands went through him. Elaine had big eyes. She tried again .... and again.. and again. Then she blinked and now she saw Clyde there. She couldn't say any excuse. She blocked.... she stopped. And then she suddenly started to cry. She didn't want to show her face. She was crying as a ghost could.

[Sullin's Residence]Not so Cold Spots[Elaine Spade]

Postby Clyde Sullins on May 3rd, 2013, 12:49 am

Clyde paused for a moment, as Elaine asked her question of him. Was she perhaps not okay with slaves? Clyde could not be certain. It was tricky enough telling tones and such from people, let alone from a ghost. And let alone one as weak as this one was right now. So he had little hope of telling if she disapproved, or did not care.

Not that it would change his actions. Clyde had a rather realistic look about slaves. And he knew for a fact, they were not treated that badly. Not compared to say Sunberth, or Sahova.

And even though Syliras condemned slavery, they had many a thing akin to it. And really, what did you call the common man, barely eking out a living, working day in and day out for the good of the knights. Were they not slaves, by all but name? Working in the mines, or crafting weapons and objects for the knights. They were just as trapped as any slave. Perhaps they were worse off, as they had the illusion of freedom, and so always hoped for more and never got it.

"Yes, he is a human. I only recently acquired him, a few days ago. Honestly I am not totally sure what he does. He knows a bit of fighting, so I suppose he uses that. I have not really directly called on him to do much yet."

Clyde pondered for another moment, as the ghost said she missed her room, and wanted one... What though, would a ghost need with a room?

"Don't take this the wrong way, but what purpose exactly, would a room serve for you? I mean, you don't own things, don't have money, and don't sleep I don't think. So why then, would you need a room? I mean, perhaps besides to store items. Since for you I suppose it would be tough for you to carry things about without quickly weakening yourself. So if you did have a room, what would you do with it?"

Clyde was a very practical person, and felt things should serve a purpose. He did not feel things should be owned simply for the fact of owning them. Perhaps if they had a future purpose, he might own something that did not currently serve a purpose. But in mind, they would eventually serve a specific purpose. Otherwise, why even bother having them?

"I don't eat in the the true sense, I more just chew it for awhile, while I imbue it with purpose and intent. And eventually it will change into soulmist. But I do not truly eat it, and swallow. But yes, I do not think it will taste to good... But, I will do as I must."

As Clyde bled into the bowl, Elaine grew quiet once more. Once he had enough, which did not take but a chime or two, he held the hand up in the air above his head, and put pressure against it, using a clean bit of cloth. He usually kept a few such clothes in his lab, to clean up with when needed. This one had not been used, and so was still clean. He wrapped it around his hand a few times, and it quickly was turned crimson from his blood. But soon enough his hand would clot. He was a good clotter.

As he used his un-bandaged hand to mix the ingredients one final time, he looked at his nearly finished product. Souldough, ready to be turned into Soulmist. Not that the first term was a real thing, he had just made it up awhile back, and had liked it and decided to use it. So Souldough it was to him.

Just as he took the mass of stuff out of the bowl, and popped it into his mouth, suddenly Elaine had a outburst of screaming and yelling, apparently at Clyde. It was diminished by her weakness, and not that loud, but still he was surprised by the ferocity of it.

"E-aine?" He asked questioningly, through the wad of stuff in his mouth. He could not talk properly, what with all of it in there.

As she stopped crying she looked at the man who was confused by what happened and who was chewing that "food". What to say? How to say? Her face was sad she was so lost. She couldn't believe herself. Was her humanity again make her insane? Probably, and she was in trouble. Trying to stop crying she was still sniffing and whispered to Clyde to explain this. Elaine voice was sad... and so silent... it was hard to understand. It was even hard to speak.

"I'm ... sorry for my behaviour... I thought.... you are Alfred... I was hallucinating for sure... because of her... I'm sorry Clyde... I don't know anything now..."

She started to cry again. Why did she had to suffer? Why did this happen to her again? She was wondering and she missed her parents. Her old, silent life where she could simple read. As she stopped again she get her thoughts again and answered to Clyde. Tried to tell him her feelings.

"Sorry... so back our talking. You who has these it's natural, you don't miss it because you have it. Or if you wouldn't you could stay in an inn. But me? I'm only a dust... a shadow.... I want to own those things I want peace. I want to be in a room and read again... I want a home... But it was burned down... because me... I caused my own and my parent's death. Because my humanity made me insane.

You know that night my mom and my father tried to make me a party where I could make some friends. I was a silent girl... that's why I'm the Silent Lady. Didn't have any friends.. only the books. Then everything went wrong. My pride, my humanity, my sin was there at that time too. She was whispering to me... but I didn't pay attention, just rarely... At that night there was a wealthy guy named Alfred. That selfish.... man child tried to seduce me. But he couldn't he even insult us, women. I grabbed a stone and hit him. My anger was so big. After that I was in the house. They were talking about me... So much noise. But it was in my head I know now... Whisperings about me... I went crazy and I hit a candle and the whole house was burning. But I didn't run away... I went back to my room. And my parents followed me as they were worrying about me. The last thing I could touch it was them. They hugged me and we died together... But then I couldn't move on. My sin, first I didn't realize it was my humanity I thought she is helping me. I remember everything she said. And about the human SHE WAS RIGHT. That's my death, Clyde. My pathetic death... I caused the death to two persons who I loved..."

She calmed down as she told her story. Her parents... Are they happy in their new life? Or are they ghosts too? She doubted it... She knew they have a good life in other form now.

[Sullin's Residence]Not so Cold Spots[Elaine Spade]

Postby Clyde Sullins on May 3rd, 2013, 4:58 pm

What could Clyde do, but continue on with his work, of making the soulmist? He could not speak with it in his mouth, at least not at length or properly. And he did not want to have to spit it out, and later put it back in. So, he did his best to finish it as quickly as possible, and to turn the substance into the off white material, obvious by it being cold to the touch, and the ethereal glow it gave off.

But he was not left to quietly chew his food, and to create the soulmist. Instead, as he did, he was given a story by Elaine, the story of how she had died and how her parents had died. And of how she had become a ghost...

All the while, Clyde chewed on the souldough, shifting it around in his mouth, as he chewed at it like a cow at the cud.He made sure not to swallow any, but to simply shift it around in his mouth, and chew at it.

He concentrated on the material, on what he wanted it to become. It was easier with a ghost right in front of him. He concentrated on soulmist, on ghosts, on a material that would feed her and return her to a vital state. To rerturn her essence to her.

He pictured it in his mind, cold, glowing, and white, and imagined him slathering it onto a ghost. Or, Elaine picking up a piece, and placing it in her mouth, akin to how a human might pick up a piece of bread and eat it.

By the time Elaine neared the end of her story, he could tell by the textures in his mouth it was beginning to change, to take shape into the substance he desired and focused on. It was colder than something that had been sitting in his mouth should be, and felt less like the odd mix of things he had first placed in his mouth.

Finally, he was sure it was done, and he spit out the soulmist, back into the bowl it had came out of. It sat there, not the best soulmist, but still decent enough. It had the odd glow which reminded Clyde a bit of res, and was cool to the touch, similar to a ghost. Odd really, all of the different things which had that same glow, in magic.

Res glowed, for all to see. Shields to a degree did, though they were only visible to shielders. And auras he supposed by their very nature, were the glow coming off of other objects. And now he saw so did Soulmist made by a Spiritist. It was always odd, to see such connections between Magics.

"I am sorry to hear that. But still, you live on, and it is not good to focus on the events of the past. I myself have had some horrible things happen. But I do not dwell upon them, but move onward to the future... I suppose that is a bit harder for a ghost, but not impossible. I never forget, but I still do not dwell on it, or let it hinder me by its weight."

Clyde did his best to smile, and be reassuring to the ghost.

"And if you ever need a place to stay and rest for a bit, or if you obtain something that you want to keep and need to store it, feel free to come here. I am sure I could find you a room to stay in, and a place to keep your things. I usually have a room or so free. And perhaps we are not quite there, but I think we could become friends. I do like you, though admittedly perhaps we are not there quite yet."

Pointing at the bowl of completed soulmist, Clyde looked at Elaine, and granted her usage of it. Without his permission, she would be unable to use it.

"Here, use the Soulmist, heal yourself. I give you permission to take of it, and to use it as you will."

She calmed down and waited for him to finish the "ritual". It was hard for him to speak and... hard to chew it anyway... Gross, she thought. And as he finished he answered her. She must admit he was right. And he was kind. Not only giving some soulmist but offer for home. But what would she had with her? She sighed and whispered him with a different tone now. Calmer and kinder tone.

"Thank you... If I ever have something, I will remember... Thank you for everything."

The soulmist was ready. She got the permission to take it. She closed her eyes and concentrated. Her little soulmist connected to his. His soulmist wasn't much but enough to recover her damage. She slowly started to take it away. Make it to her own soulmist. Her power came back slowly. Her control over the soulmist was better now. She took it all. And she could use her materialization. She was now again like an old painting and much clearer than before even her voice was normal again. And as she finished she hugged Clyde. Softly and she was careful, she knew her touch was uncomfortable. She smiled... like she did when her parents held her at the last moments. She even whispered with happy voice.

"As I told you last night, you can call me as a ghosty friend. And if you will need anything to ask, I will do my best to complete it."

[Sullin's Residence]Not so Cold Spots[Elaine Spade]

Postby Clyde Sullins on May 3rd, 2013, 6:58 pm

"Your welcome. It is no big deal, as I said, I have extra space at the moment. And I doubt you would take up that much."

Then all Clyde had to do was watch as Elaine took the soulmist. She did not eat it, or even directly apply it to herself as he thought she might, she more... Inter-weaved it into the preexisting layer of soulmist on her body, light though it was, allowing it to combine and changing it from the neutral soulmist, to soulmist that belonged to her, and was a part of her.

It was interesting to say the least, and it was his first time seeing a ghost take soulmist. Or as he would now describe it, assimilating it. For that was more or less what she had done, not taken it, unlike any physical action of taking a sword. She had truly embraced it, and made it a part of herself.

As she took it on, she began to once more become more substantial, and to fill out, materializing before him as a almost solid looking person. She was clearly growing in strength, closer back to her optimum power, even if not fully back to it.

Clyde did his best not to jerk away as Elaine suddenly hugged him... It was akin to being hugged by a wall of ice water. It made goosebumbs rise across his skin, and he let out a involuntary shiver which ran up his spine.

"Well then, I am glad I could help you Elaine, my ghostly friend. And I will bear that in mind, should I ever need anything of you. I suppose that is how friendship works, reciprocity."

Looking down at his hand, which had long since clotted and stopped bleeding, Clyde let out a small sigh. It was not fun, having to bleed to make soulmist, but it was required.

"So, what do you plan to do the rest of the day, now that you are better? I suppose we shall part ways for now. Though as I said, if you need a room, just ask. For now, I think I may go lie down. Losing blood tends to take it out of you. Quite literally."

The Silent Lady let him. She knew it was only good for her... again. It was tough for him and for Elaine too. New energy she nearly felt as her old ghost self now. She was still smiling. That effect had a long period. As she felt she was done with everything she wanted to leave Clyde so he can rest. He had a hard night.. with her and day. It was time to take care of himself. Elaine needed some too. She bowed before him.

"I can't say enough: Thank you! I don't know what to do... probably I'll rest. I need to regain my full power. I'll let you be. I need some time too to be alone. And you needed some blood too to save me. We will certainly meet again. "

As she whispered she turned around and was going out. Leaving the house she stopped at the door. She had a strange feeling. A warm feeling. She couldn't recognize it. Elaine watched back to the house and at Clyde. Her smile was still there. She whispered to him as she was waving to him.

"We will meet, so I can 'haunt' you again. If you need me I think your slave can find me too or you can leave a message somewhere. I know where is your house now.... Oh and tell your dog I say hello! Bye Clyde, have a nice day! "

As she said good bye she stepped out and started to do her usual thing. Wandering unvisibly. When Elaine left the house and was far away from it she had that feeling again. And she knew now what was that. She had a home... to return if she wanted to. Her smile has gone but inside she was happy. A home to return... a friend to return. With a warm room just for her stuff. And maybe one day she will have something to take with herself to there... To keep it safe there even if it's a little thing.
