Spring 87, 513AV

It was a lovely morning outside, the sun shining, the cool ocean breeze bringing blowing inland... Yet, Zuki found it better inside in the University's library. He wasn't a student, but he still visited the open portions and indulged in the books the public were allowed. Today he was enjoying a bit of light reading - well... light for him. There were three piles of books; Fantasy pile, which held stories of pirates and spelunkers this time around, a small Informational pile about the history of Sultros and Lhavit, and a pile of journals varying in topics.

Today he did not worry about hiding himself, instead he wore a normal tunic with three arms crammed into each short sleeve and a pair of loose fitting breeches that hung a bit too far over his sandal clad feet. While one set of arms rested crossed on the table and a second propped elbows just before them to prop up his head, the third set held up one of the books. Introductory to Sonnets and Poetry the title read. It was a dusty old book, not too thick, and filled to the brim with example poems and sonnets.

He could easily breeze through a book in a few hours, his mind practically absorbed pages of writing at a time, but he slowed down for each of the examples, slowly soaking in each word. Every time one of the crossed arms rose to flip a page, one propping his head up would reach higher to push a loop of his stunningly long hair from his face, to send it trailing down his back with the rest.

"What doth the winter bring," he whispered to himself, trying to concoct his own little poem on the spot. "if not only a blanket of purity? Tis it ill minded to believe, if only for the bell, ... Hmmm, no that's no good..." He shook his head, flipping to the next page to read on. Maybe he would find his muse in a work already written, if only in a particular format...

Six Arms and a Wizard? [Annalisa]

Postby Annalisa Marin on May 23rd, 2013, 11:09 pm

Annalisa was not exactly the most avid reader in the whole of the University, between her training and her duties as a professor she rarely found time to peruse the Library. Today was one of those rare days, though her studies today were definitely more geared towards her training. The young wizard exited the Restricted Section of the library, hefting a rather thick tome with an emblemized eye on the front cover. The pages were thick and many, meaning that there was just more information to find.

Anna looked very much her usual arrogant and powerful self, her expression was haughty and her sharp eyes narrowed in their natural piercing gaze. She was dressed in her common attire, her cloak sweeping her steps as she strode through the library with her heavy load. Her dark hair was bound in a high ponytail and her height had her towering over a number of frightened students, who were quick to move from the stern professor's path.

As she made her way to the public section, Anna went over the information she had already glean from the book. The tome it self was called, Introduction to Auristics, a simple title disguising an incredibly in depth and highly detailed read. It was an old tome but definitely one that promised secrets most tempting.

Anna quickly sat herself down at a table near the far edges of the public section, checking for prying eyes before setting the book down carefully as she could. There was still an audible clatter as the massive tome set down but it was unlikely to attract unwanted ears and eyes. The woman carefully opened the book, positively excited to learn about a new discipline. Her expression now resembled that of a giddy school girl who had just been kissed by the love of her life, though considering her passion for the arcane that was not far off of the mark.

She sighed, calming herself before she started her read. Regaining her composure, Anna started on the first line, hunching over the book as her sharp eyes scanned across the pages.

"Penned within these pages is the comprehensive understanding of the magical discipline of Auristics, as contributed and complied by several experienced users..."

"When the blanket of snow falls, does the ground sleep sound? Does it dream sweet dreams during the Winter, for each bell which rolls 'round? As the --" A sudden sound halted his attempt at a thought invoking piece, whispered in hushed tones to only himself. Lifting his bright and curious gaze, he spotted something which fueled excitement... A book, a big book... obviously from the ever elusive Restricted section, he itched to dwell within its pages.

He had glanced up to its reader to see that giddy little look. She's a cute one... Maybe she'll share? The idle thought was enough for him to slowly close his book. In two right arms he carefully scooped up his fantasy pile, in two left arms he did the same with his pile of journals. A single hand held close to the book of poetry. Rising from his seat, the final hand made use of itself by pushing it back in before he begins a somewhat eager stride over to the woman.

The six armed man leans down to a near eye level before whispering a greeting from grinning lips. "Hello! Sorry to interrupt, but you looked like you could use a reading companion!" The fully loaded man placed the empty hand on a free chair, but did not pull it from under the table yet, not without acceptance. "Alright, that's cheesy... Sorry, miss, but I noticed you were in the Restricted section and I wanted to ask if the books back there are any better? I mean... Is it worth paying so much to enter the University just for the books?" The gilded man seemed straight forward after his subtle attempt failed. Eager to learn, as can be seen by the books in his arms, he hoped this woman would not turn him away.

He couldn't help it, the temptation was too grand. His glance fell to the book and even though the book was the wrong way for him he managed to pick out a fraction of what she had been reading. 'Understanding of the magical Discipline of Auristics...' Now he had so many more questions. His gaze rose again, hoping she had not noticed the glance downwards, or if she did... maybe she would think he was looking at her breasts? That would be a lot better than possible rule breaking... getting thrown out of the library would be a nightmare!

Six Arms and a Wizard? [Annalisa]

Postby Annalisa Marin on May 24th, 2013, 12:38 am

Anna was drawn from her reading before she could even get out of the introduction by a smooth voice. Her gaze shot up, her eyes narrowing immediately upon the one who dared to intrude upon her studies. Her eyes quickly widened and her expression was less angry and more shocked by the six armed man standing before her looking rather eager, with a book tucked under one arm.

Anna almost did register his words as she wracked her brain to try and recall information.

Six arms, six arms, where have I heard of that before? The young wizard wondered, agitated that she couldn't properly recall the information.

The man was obviously not human, but he spoke the common tongue well enough. Her mind quickly returned to the present and her gaze was once again sharp and searching. From his earlier words he appeared not to be a student of the University, just another scholar from elsewhere partaking in common knowledge. As such, he really wasn't supposed to be able to look at the book on the table as most people from outside the University were restricted to the Public Section.

He wasn't bad looking, for a non human, in fact he had something of an exotic quality about him. Handsome would have been how she would described him. She also didn't fail to notice that he had not yet sat down and seemed to be waiting for permission. After the recent string of rudeness she had faced over the days from the lesser, it was nice to finally meet someone with some actual manners and sense of place.

Anna noticed the man's gaze and followed it, to her average sized breasts. She looked back up at him, a wry grin on her face rather than the normal scowl. The young wizard was not exactly a charmer most of the time, mostly it was unpleasant arrogance that most people got. However, considering the man's much more polite approach she was inclined to make an exception for him.

"Well now, see something you like, sir? I'm afraid you'll just have to settle with looking, for now." She teased slightly.

"As for your question, yes, it is most certainly worth the money. The books out here are worthless compared to the knowledge in the Restricted Section." The young wizard said, nodding to herself slightly in affirmation.

Anna gestured for the man to pull out the chair if he so desired, perhaps he might provide some amusement at the very least. He seemed learned enough, perhaps some stimulating conversation was not too much to hope for. She supposed that she could spare some time from her studies to hear out this multi armed man, it might be worthwhile, who could say.

"I'm not familiar with your race, what is it?" Anna asked straight up, her curiosity blunt and honest.

He had expected a scolding for his glace downwards, but when he saw that curl of her lips his own grin faded. Her words made him straighten for a moment, at least till she added the 'for now' to her statement. Oooooh, he liked this one. He gauged her answer about the books first. Worthless? His gaze fell to the mass of books in his arms, then the book of poetry in hand. Maybe they had a better one in the restricted section?

He still dwells over her first comment and despite all efforts, he had to glance down to the woman's chest to see what she had thought he had seen before. Despite their average size, a man who has had no intimate interactions for enough years would find them perfect - which put Zuki in that category perfectly. "I uh..." He tried at first, but failing to regain his intellect, his lower two right arms rest the small pile of books onto her table before one of them lifts his gaze by a digit to the underside of his chin. Whether this was in humor or a second track sending help to the stalled first in a multi-track mind, was for only him to know. "Sorry what? Oh, race! I'm an Eypharian! Well... Sort of. Not as snotty and stuck up. I prefer my books!" The two left arms then lower their small stack to the table to aid the third of the trio in sliding out the chair.

Despite the volume of books and their topics, he seemed to have a very upbeat mind with a downplayed intellect. If she could see past the energetic front and lack of a smooth witt, she would notice he had a less than perfect body. Thinner than the average warrior and no battle scars. He had obviously not been out in the wild or caged into a fight in quite some time. "My name is Arailzuki, but everyone calls me Zuki... well, I've been trying to start that trend anyway." Despite his quick words with a sharp, crisp sound to each syllable, he had no discernible accent, having retrained himself in Common for many years in hopes of sounding more intelligent and respectable.

Six Arms and a Wizard? [Annalisa]

Postby Annalisa Marin on May 24th, 2013, 3:17 pm

Annalisa Marin was an extremely vain and arrogant individual, few people who knew her would ever dispute such a claim. As such it pleased her greatly to be admired in a physical way by this multi armed man, very much so. The easiest way to get into Anna's good graces was to satisfy her vanity and pride, this Eypharian was making good strides towards getting there. Beyond that she was gaining some knowledge out of this, such as the name of his race, so it was somewhat productive as well.

Anna's smirk took on a more devious edge, her eyes narrowing slightly on this so called Zuki. Oh, she was going to have fun with this one, that much was for sure. The arts of seduction were very much new to her but she couldn't resist a little light teasing. It would certainly make this much more interesting.

"Well hello then Zuki, I am Professor Annalisa Marin, but you can call me Anna. So tell me, are books the only thing you prefer?" The young wizard said, her voice a purr of suggestion.

He was not exactly the most attractive man she had ever met, however she herself was rather plain looking and possessed very little other than her height to set her apart from the common masses. Well, at least on an obvious level. Magic tended to make one above the norm by default.

Idly she glanced back down to her book, Anna lacked a comprehensive knowledge of the discipline of Auristics. She understood the basic gist of it, in that it allowed one to glean information from another based off of some kind of extra corporeal 'aura' but little else beyond that. As such, research was required to gain some grasp of what the discipline could truly do. The young wizard was at the point where she knew that she wanted to attempt to learn more of it, but was not quite sure if she should put time into initiating herself into it.

All magic was useful, but spreading herself too thin when she was still trying to master the elements was highly unwise. As such this was merely preliminary research, nothing really concrete at the moment. Thanks to her access to the Restricted Section she was able to find a wealth of knowledge regarding other magic disciplines, however one of her students had informed her that he was an Aurist, so it seemed like that would be a good subject to look into today.

The young wizard turned her attention back to the Eypharian, it was likely that it wasn't going to get done right at this moment it seemed. It had been far too long since last she had been involved with a male anything, perhaps this man held promise? If nothing else he would provide an interesting distraction from her research.

He was faring better in her eyes than most so far, if he could maintain that she might decide whether or not to grace him with her continued company. Anything beyond that was pointless speculation.

As she continued acting positively towards his glance to her breasts he found himself lacking anything really intelligent to say. Luckily she changed the subject. Almost before he could think it through he nodded, his grin returning in full. "Yes! You can learn everything from books. Life is pointless without the pursuit of knowledge. It becomes stale and dull and..."

Maybe he did speak to soon. His mind registered the hint of seduction on the woman's lips. Suddenly looking on from her perspective, a man with so many books would look like a hermit. "I mean I enjoy other things too! A good drink, a song and time with friends! Well, friend... well..." In a nervous act one of the left hands rises to the back of his neck, two of the right slip behind his back to begin braiding the waist length wavy locks of sunkissed brown. "I sound a fool..." Giving up in redeeming himself he leans back in his chair. "What about you, Professor. Surely you have a better personal life than a silly little writer." He retaliated with a smile. If he couldn't save himself, he'd take this woman down with him. Hopefully he had caught her off guard, otherwise he knew he risked embarrassment.

Six Arms and a Wizard? [Annalisa]

Postby Annalisa Marin on May 25th, 2013, 3:57 am

Anna noted Zuki's initial answer with a slight frown, clearly he was a little slow on taking hints. That wasn't terrible she supposed, a man not being able to take a hint was not new to her, though often she wondered if her looks contributed to that. It was rare that anyone possessed any kind of physical interest in her, her common appearance was not exactly desirable and her personality was rather unpleasant.

Her lips turned up at his stammered out answer once he realized the intent of her words. It was sort of endearing, a scholar through and through it seemed. Anna could remember when she had been like him, when she had first stepped into the library and devoured every scrap of knowledge she could lay her hands upon. She was not that girl any more, no longer wide eyed and nervous but her hunger still remained.

His question caught her slightly off guard, but she was quick to rebound with her smile still firmly planted on her face. Her personal life was best described as barren, with most of her free time being devoted to either research here in the library or reimancy practice. Rarely did she visit a tavern or a brothel, maybe once a month for either one sometimes longer. She was not exactly the social bug, it wasn't who she had ever been.

"My personal life is... not exactly what you would call normal." Anna answered in a vague manner.

She was growing a little tired of wordplay and double speak at the moment, in these engagements someone always had to make the first move. If it wasn't him, it was her.

The young wizard slipped her right foot from its boot and carefully placed it on Zuki's knee with a wicked smile, stroking the inner part of his thigh carefully. When she saw something she wanted, she went for it as quickly as she could. Mincing words could be fun, but only for a time before action was required. That was simply her way.

"If you are interested, perhaps you might get to see what my life is like, Mr. Zuki." The young wizard said.

It was little thrilling actually, a quick flirtation. Anna moved her foot up a little further, an awkward tease, before withdrawing and placing it back in the boot. Her eyes held an amused light in them as she watched him carefully.

What does she mean by 'not normal'? Is she some sort of-- His thought was interrupted by a foot at his knee...The light seduction, the smiles at his glancing eyes, and now she pushed to the next step? The gilded man's cheeks reddened right around to his ears. "I uh... might be interested..."

This was new grounds for him. Some had stopped and asked about his arms or complemented his gilded skin, even asked to braid his hair, but this was a full blown seduction by comparison. Once more rubbing the back he glances around, but desguised it as a tilt of his head and stretch of his neck. When seeing their little conversation had gone unnoticed, he clears his throat and leans forward. "Would you like to go somewhere else to talk?" Whether she knew it or not he actually meant talk... but he could be swayed towards other things.

Truth be told he hadn't had any proper attention in a while. Sure seeing an Eyph can be interesting, but this woman seemed a bit more interested than normal. It would be more enjoyable to have a conversation that doesn't end with 'What finger do you pick your nose with?' or 'Must be handy.' With a deep breath his lips curled to a broad grin. "Or just a walk to West Street for some lunch. I'll buy." Of course he could not quite afford the best of meals, but for now he needed to focus on something else, she was sapping his ability to think straight with her honeyed words and temptations.

Six Arms and a Wizard? [Annalisa]

Postby Annalisa Marin on May 25th, 2013, 6:42 pm

Annalisa chuckled slightly at the reddening of the Eypharian's cheeks, she was quite the forward individual, no mistake about that. His offer of going someplace else was noted by her, and if she didn't have to look over this tome then she would already be leading him out of the library. Unfortunately, her magic came first even before the possibility of pleasure no matter how tempting. Idly she wondered how useful those arms were in pleasing a woman, they would make it quite easy for him to multitask.

Annalisa looked thoughtful for a moment, before shaking her head slightly at his question, her expression slightly regretful.

"I cannot accommodate you today, however I will be free near the beginning of the next season. How would the third of summer work for you, Zuki?" She asked.

"I can promise you that it would be worth your while." She hinted suggestively.

It looked rather forward to speak like this to someone she had just met, but Anna hadn't seen any form of physical pleasure in at least two months. That had been thanks to and East Street prostitute, who had barely known what he had been doing. That, and the man seemed learned and attractive enough.

Anna couldn't say that she had ever tried anything like this outside of her own race, all of her partners had been human. If nothing else this could be a fresh experience, as the man appeared to possess some manners and knew how to soothe her vanity and pride which scored him some points. The purpose of the meeting before hand would be to assess whether or not he really was worth pursuing, if not then she'd simply move on.

Anna measured his response to her offer carefully, glancing down at the tome before her periodically.
