[Itasu's Residence] A study in glyphs (open)

Hadrian glanced at the made wizard for a moment before answering the other man's questions.

"You could check in at the blacksmithing guild, or just check with some local smithies." He paused. "Or you could talk to the registrar at the university about assisting there. The magecrafters need materials and not all of them know how to make them themselves. You might even be able to negotiate a few classes out of them."

[Itasu's Residence] A study in glyphs (open)

Itasu looks at the two talking, seeming as though they'd forgotten about him. Content with just listening the old man stayed silent. Normally he would've taken the opportunity to shoo the two away, but they were talking about jobs. Itasu had been denied a position at the university and was certainly in need of cash. Maybe I could try a younger body on for size and learn how to mold metal. The idea didn't really appeal to him, but who knows? If he learned to smith, glyphing would become cheaper. Alas, the wizard chose to keep his mouth shut. After all, one wouldn't expect an old man to be in need of a job.

His advice given to the would-be blacksmith-cum-magecrafter, he took one last look between his copied glyphs and the originals on the mad wizard's abode. Then he closed his sketchbook and shoved it into his satchel, standing up.

"I'll be out of your way now, sir," he said to the old man, offering him a respectful half-bow. "I apologize for upsetting you."

Torc bowed to both the old man and student. “My thanks for the advice. Sorry to be an incovience to either one of you.”

Torc headed down the road towards the university, see the buildings in the distant. It was likely that he would once again become lost in the city, but that was what happened when one was new to the area. Besides Torc had come here to learn a crafting that felt right with his bones. Shaping iron was hard work but magecrafting song something into the world. It was like forging a piece of eternity, nothing that Torc’s work would forever stand, it was something very primal to him.

Hadrian watched the man leave, his mouth opening to politely protest that it was no inconvenience. As it was, he glanced back at the old wizard to see if he had any parting shots before Hadrian himself returned to the university. Chances were, he would see the would-be magecrafter there. He wasn't sure what was going on with the glyph man.

Itasu nodded, he was satisfied with the way things turned out. He didn't necessarily hate people, he just happened to be territorial. In fact, if things went his way, he'd make sure to see these men again. Not at his home, nor as an old man. No, they wouldn't know it was him. "All right. Goodbye then," he said simply, in a falsely annoyed tone. Then he went inside, slamming the door behind him.

"Curiouser and curiouser," he mumbled to himself, letting his eyes go a little wonky so he could peek at Itasu's aura from behind. When the door shut, he lost everything, unsure if reading the house was just beyond him or if the glyphs were protecting it from other-vision.

"Ah well."

His work here finished, he turned back toward Zeltiva proper. It was going to take some time to decode all those glyphs, real or imaginary.
