After what seemed like the longest journey home in the world, Derailey had managed to arrive back at Endrykas. People swarmed the streets, their voices blending with the sounds of horses hooves hitting the ground, the burning and crackle of fire, and the occasional sound of clanking metal. It had grown since she had been gone, and though she was not a person for crowds, she did feel a small sense of satisfaction knowing that her home was thriving.
They had been on the main market road for about half a bell now, and Derailey, being the indecisive shopper that she is, had only just spotted a tent that caught her interest. She approached it, leading Chel by her reigns, and her dog Solo padding along beside her, looking like a huge white shedding bear. She scanned the contents of the tent with her eyes, having yet to enter, she wanted to make sure she actually needed some of the items before delving into her Miza.
She walked in, sliding her bag strap off of her shoulder so it could dangle loosely in her arm as she walked. There were Several tent covers lining the walls. She would need two. One for the city, which she would have to remember to come back and move, and one for her exploration, when she couldn't find a cave in the grasses, though she had most of them marked.
She eyed the man in charge as he handed a bundle of tent covers to one of his customers. The merchant smile, friendly like, and waved him off, before turning his attention to Derailey. He raised a brow, "Is this the child of Benevelo I see?" He walked closer to Derailey, who offered him something close to a smile. This man had been a close friend of her father's when he was alive it seems, but she didn't really remember him.
Derailey took a few steps forward, eyeing the one person tents. "Do you think I could get two of those?" She asked, trying to change the subject.
The man crossed his arms and laughed loudly, "Why of course. Four GM if you don't mind?" Derailey shook her head, retrieving the money as the man took the two bundles behind the table he seemed to be ordering at. "Anything else?"
Derailey continued to scan, "A rucksack and some rope."
He went off for a second and returned, placing the items on top of the tent roles. "Six GM." Derailey nodded, handing him the money. "That should do it." Derailey stuffed one of the tent bundles in her new rucksack, as well as the rope, and placed that carefully inside of her bag, returning the strap to her shoulder, and the other bundle in hand, she began to leave, hearing the shop keep say, "Stay safe now, you hear?" She of course gave him no answer.
Chel and Solo had been waiting patiently outside for her, which she smiled at. She went to Chel's side, and locked down her bag on her saddle, and gave Solo a scratch on the top of his head. Now all she would need to do is by some feed, dog food, and she bit her lip, she had been wanting to add a new addition to the party, but she was having a hard time decided what she wanted it to be. She sighed, continueing down the market road, thinking to herself as she passed under the shadows of the tents.
She had gotten so caught up in scanning the through the tents, that she had failed to notice someone who had just walked out of the tent in front of her. Derailey bumped into her hard, hard enough to send her back a few step, her hand automatically going to her knife, though when she caught site of the girl who had no idea of what was going on either, she refrained from unsheathing it. She muttered an apology, casting her eyes in another direction, and as she was about to walk off, she heard Solo's deep growl.
The large white dog, more than half of Derailey's size, slowly stepped toward the girl with a menacing bark, teeth bared and ready. Derailey sighed, this poor dog just did not like people. It was nearly on top of her, before Derailey halted him with a sharp whistle. "Solo!" His ears flattened, and his tail curved in slightly, and reluctantly he backed away from the girl, but never took his eyes off of her. "He doesn't like strangers." Derailey said unapologetically.
