Appearance
Ryia's appearance is rather common for a teenager in the city of Syliras, with the exception of the golden blonde hair that she, and her sisters all share. She stands at about average height and weight for girls her age, although her body may be slightly more sleek and toned due to her training. Her looks are youthful, and with her big green eyes, it makes it easy to note her as the baby Brock. Ryia could normally be seen dressed in tunics, tights, and wearing boots, or dresses. But as of Winter 513, when she became a squire she mostly wears full plate armor.
Character Concept
Ryia is a very capable and determined young woman, looking to make her place in the world. Born into a family of Knights, a lot is expected of her and she looks to make her family proud by following the path to Knighthood. She has a very caring and loving heart and a deep connection with her parents and siblings.
Ryia may not be as ambitious as her older siblings, but she takes on challenges with a strength and vigor befitting one of Brock blood. Of all her main family, the teenager is the most sensitive to others and the world around her. She has a more gentle nature than her sisters, but Ryia is as much a Brock as any and it shows through in times of trouble.
Character History
Ryia was born the third, of three children to Hallard and Mirabelle Brock. Hallard was a proud and noble Knight, who's family had been a part of the Order for generations.
It had been his greatest wish to have a son, whom he could teach the traditions of the Knights, and one day that child would also join the order. However fate had a different plan, and the first child to the family was female. They named her Helena, and although Hallard had wished for a son, he would love his daughter just as much. Hallard started Helena young, teaching her the ways of the Knights and all it's importance. Helena was a prodigy, being squired at 13 and passing her quest at age 19. They had two other children, each a few years apart from the other and both female. Dimia was the name given to their second child, and even in early years the girl showed signs of quick thinking and problem solving.
Dimia looked up to Helena, and it was only natural for her to join the order, and she did so at 16. Ryia was the last born and it was thought that she would also join the order. The girl wasn't as quick to study as Helena had been, but there was a spark in her eyes and a passion to thrive. Ryia was more animated than the other girls, and even when she was a small girl, she would put on her fathers helmet, gather her wooden sword, put on the cape that her mother made for her, and it was out into the world to fight fantasy evil doers. However, something happened suddenly that would change her forever.
When Ryia was only 12 she was attacked and possessed by a malevolent spirit. The event left her a shell of her former self, and she would go mute for seasons. The family worried that she would never get over it, but in time Ryia willed herself back and their daughter returned to them. They were overjoyed to have her back, but any aspirations of joining the order was gone, at least for the time. Ryia wanted to continue, but her family wasn't sure that she was strong enough yet.
Unlike her siblings, she possessed an aptitude for the art of magic use, and decided to develop her talents rather than clamming for the strength that her sister had. Then one day, without telling anyone, Ryia marched into the recruitment office and joined the order seeking to become a mage Knight. Her family was more than shocked by her actions, and Helena quickly sought to claim her as her second squire, having already taken Dimia when she joined up a few years back.
