Sandy Shores And Warm Waters [Ricky]

It was cold out again, as the spring neared quickly. The frigid air from the sea slammed up hard on the city, the recent precipitation from the waves and clouds having coated the city in winter's final attempt to take hold of the city once again. Spring was literally a brightening away, and with dawn's embrace, the weather would begin to change hopefully.

Ariann sat upon the sand-dusted beach, knees pulled up to her chest and her chin resting upon them. Her arms wrapped about her legs as she looked out into the sea, a longing in her eyes that caused them to glaze over ever so slightly. She had been pre-occupied with her thoughts for well over a quarter of a chime by now. She had not moved at all, her chest being the only thing that ebbed with life about her. She was quite calm on the outside, despite her inwards turmoil.

In her mind, she could see a reflection of what had transpired between her and Ricky over the last few weeks. He had brought about some unsettling news, torn her heart from her chest and then patched it together again, and yet she still could not help but feel a bit of a quiver in her lip whenever she thought about him. Her heart continued to flutter, despite the calmed feelings she had for him. She still loved him in a way he would not get to learn, but she resented it deeply.

And then there was Yuri. He had come out of nowhere a few days ago, floating unconsciously in the water over her head. He had the good looks Ricky possessed, but there was a difference in personality between the two. Ricky had that... sailor-y personality, where Yuri was all manners and politeness and noble-ness. Ariann didn't notice it, but her cheeks were darkening in response to the thoughts. She smiled a bit as she remembered the man's strange way of bowing to her, thanking her for saving his life despite the fact that she had done little besides scab over the wound for him. Still, he had a sweet sentiment about him, and it caused her heart to flutter a bit when she thought of him, just like it did with Ricky.

She sighed, reaching her hand out to cup a bit of sand into her palm, lifting the pile up and tossing it into the sea. It landed with a 'ba-loop', clouding the water before dissipating. She watched the sun rise up over the ocean's crest, the rays tinting the sky purple and red. It was a beautiful sunrise, and it painted the sky above Maiden's Cape like a canvas beneath an artist's brush. A small whiff of cloud floated overhead, contrasting the amber hues with its subtle grey-blue outline. Ariann smiled at the sky. It was so pretty sometimes, a sphere of colors that shifted and swayed as the day grew older. She wondered what Syna was doing right now, when the sun was born anew.

Standing up, Ariann stretched widely, putting aside thoughts of what the gods and goddesses were doing. She stood there, curling her lips back in a mock yawn, revealing her many rows of jagged teeth as her green eyes slid shut. She was tired, but not because she didn't sleep well. She was tired because she had just woken up. She rubbed her eyes, yawning a bit more and letting out a sheepish noise as she did so, wondering what the day would bring about this time.

Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to play Ariann until my life stabilizes. Sorry in advance to whoever ends up loosing out on threads because of this :\

I am now an official Grader of Mizahar! Happy squeals for all! ^_^ I will be focusing primarily on Zeltiva, but if another region needs cleaning up, let me know! I have a TON of free-time and I always enjoy reading other's threads!

Sandy Shores And Warm Waters [Ricky]

Soon! So soon would it finally be the new year for the whole of Mizahar! Ricky remained excited for the incoming season of spring because it meant warmer weather, and with warmer weather came clothes that allowed the skin to breath! Today though he would just walk along the sandy shoreline with Martin once more, considering the child loved being outside with his daddy most of the time, and imagine what it would be like for the baby to finally feel the ocean water for the first time. It would be a memory both he and Telion would share together when the time was just right, and that time would surely come when Martin had grown just enough to stand on two feet.

Already the child was strong and developed enough to hold himself up on his bottom, each time he’d been placed on his tummy to roam around he’d looked higher and higher as the days started to pass. He actually got to the point where he’d started to crawl around even, which meant both great times and great trouble ahead when Martin would poke around and get into things he shouldn’t. All in good time though. Ricky had to remember that now was the most important time to live in, because each tick he spent with the child in his arms… was a tick most treasured by him as it would be for any parent in this world. Martin was precious to him and Telion both and they loved being able to go out and take him places, off and on Ricky would get to see his wife and child while he patrolled a route within the city.

That was probably the biggest highlight of his career right there, being able to see his wife and son out and about in the city while he worked. It provided Telion the time she needed to bond with their son while Ricky worked, and in turn allowed Ricky to see the two without the impatient desire to return home to his family. Of course that really didn’t help much, seeing as how he was always eager to be with the ones he loved so much. Which is why each time he got to take Martin out somewhere, he valued every tick spent with the child, and counted each day the boy grew since day one when he was born.

The cobblestone path came next, the memory of the trail so clear in Ricky’s mind. He not only knew the story of the Black Lady, but knew just where Maiden’s Cape resided as he’d been there time and time again. What he encountered some odd number of days ago was a mage that held some dark power called “Leeching”, and used it on Ricky just to restore his own Djed somehow. Was such concepts of magic even possible? The question would only lead to a surrounding of more questions, as it posed to be nothing more than a puzzle for Ricky to solve. Thus he didn’t worry about it, nor did he dwell for that matter. His only wonder was if he would be seeing more of that Volanaro here soon.

To his surprise, and yet somewhat relief, no sign of the boy was there. There was however a Charoda with feminine features to her body, which in turn led Ricky to recognize that the Charoda was in fact Ariann. Just the other day she’d got to meet Martin for the first time, although the timing couldn’t have been more off considering there was another there too. Guess Oi better say ‘ello den. He quirked with amusement, eyes on Martin for a moment as he stepped onward to the Cape. They were both dressed warmly for the occasion since the cold air still clung over the city, but it would likely wear off soon given the fact spring still remained around the corner. "Ahoy der Ariann!" He called out upon approach in an attempt to surprise her, which he hoped would be the case since he tried to be quiet about the approach.

Upon turning to see him Ariann would find that Ricky wore the usual winter attire, the two white shirts and blue trousers, with Martin wrapped in a blanket and dressed just as warmly. Ricky had planned to relax here and spend time with Martin after all, what better chance for Ariann to personally get to know Martin now that it was just the three of them here.
