This shining population center is considered the jewel of The Sylira Region. Home of the vast majority of Mizahar's population, Syliras is nestled in a quiet, sprawling valley on the shores of the Suvan Sea. [Lore]

Shiress stepped up to the table as another stepped away and carefully lifted the paper and began to read.

So, this is the petition that so many are talking about

She replaced the paper, grabbed for a quill, and wrote:

"My voice in this fine city is but a whisper, I know, but I ask you heed my whisper. There are many races that fill the city and do good for all who dwell here. To segregate one race would carve a destructive path for the segregation of others, both willing and unwilling - Shiress

The Nine (Kelvics)

Postby Markus Andres on January 26th, 2014, 5:56 am

The problems with Kelvics were that Markus did not get the time to understand them fully. He had met many Kelvics who were normal. Reasonable, yet he had always been able to feel that it had been a razors edge that had keep them from tearing out his jugular. If Markus, according to own image, was scared of humanoid beings who could shift between human and animal shape, then something had to be done. His initial impression had been that some sort of segregation between humans and animals would be great.

But as his thoughts had swirled in his mind, the less sense the idea had made. Segregation was simply a way divide Syliras between different races. Giving a race their of part to create a community independently, their loyalty would be beyond Syliras. In other words... giving them their will was nothing short of treason. Perhaps detrimental to the Syliran unity.

All races who show themselves true to Syliras and our ideals should be welcomed openly and treated with respect. It saddens me that hear that the Kelvic Sylirans has been mistreated or looked down upon by others, but that should be for us knights to handle and make sure all are treated equally before the law. Giving the Syliran Kelvics a place to live within the walls where only they may live will separate them in our daily lives. More importantly, when do we stop? Should the Konti, Svefra, Akalaks and Humans be given different parts of the city where only they may live? Segregation is not the solution!

Mistreating Kelvics because of a wrongfully perceived idea that they're inferior to any other race is distressing news and should immediately be ceased! Kelvics as with any other race are an integral part of the Syliran community.

Ser Andres.

He signed the document passionately before he continued on his way through the city. He was a bit surprised at how much his stance had changed once he had given it some thought. He did believe in a unity in Syliras.... Yet he still doubted the commitment of some races.

The Nine (Kelvics)

Saler set out late in the night just before the spring would come. He and two other bird kelvics swiftly moved through the streets and located the slips of parchment that they had nailed to wood and pasted against stone walls.

Some of the slips had been cut up and others painted over, or taken down if they were placed too close to taverns and or shops. Once they were all collected Saler and his team headed back to his cozy room to settle the numbers.

The kelvic was enraged, the votes weren't even close and they were against his cause. He was so angered that he started to peck one of his workers until he bled. This was a huge mistake in his beady eyes and it was wrong.

Many kelvics were stuck living in the Bittern District in the apartments that were less than suitable, and it was said that the Knights started to patrol that area less and less over time. Saler was not happy, but there was little he could do, and even if the people had stuck by him, the Knights probably wouldn't have listened.
