Name: Erich
Race: Svefra
DoB: 37th, Summer, 494 AV
PoB: Kenash
Title: The Mercenary
Skills:
Unarmed Combat --- 30 XP
Fishing --- 10 XP
Larceny --- 10 XP

Gnosis: Laviku's first Oceanus mark

Additional Info:

Erich is man to fear. Learning unarmed combat from his father and gradually improving upon his skills, Erich is now a competent fighter, almost equal to that of an elite Sylirian soldier. Working for the family business is just one of the many ways he earns his money. As Nyxie's rival, but also as her one and only known cousin, Erich would never admit that he cares about her success. But he does. And he'd do whatever it takes to help her out in times of need.

Image
Name: Heila
Race: Unknown, Human
DoB: 10th of Spring, 477 AV
PoB: Unknown
Title: The Caretaker
Skills:
Tattooing --- 30 XP
Cooking --- 10 XP
Fishing --- 10 XP

Gnosis: N/A

Additional Info:

Heila is a personal slave, bought by Gerolf when she was 18 in order to do the motherly duties necessary to take care of baby Nyxie and baby Erich. The woman doesn’t talk much about her history, although Nyxie has been quite curious about it. The young Svefra only knows the fact that Heila is a talented tattoo artist; the slave has frequently created designs for other Svefra for quite a bit of spending money. Heila was also the one to teach Nyxie and Erich how to fish. The slave woman tends to be quiet and conservative, doing whatever her owners require her to do.

On the technical side, this business plan looks solid; the numbers are almost all solid. The only issue, and this is one that comes with every PC-owned slaver operation is that you need to account for the initial cost of the slaves. You can't start out with a collection of slaves without figuring the initial cost of acquiring the slaves. For example, if you want to sell just a simple, nothing special, relatively unskilled slave for 100 gm, you need to figure the 100 gm into your starting assets. So for all the slave types you are wishing to sell in your current price list, you would have to add 5,600 gm to your initial debt.

The alternative to this is to sell fewer types of slaves to start and through the course of your job threads, acquire more types in-thread and maybe set up a method for continued acquisition. This would be the less expensive way to do it while also allowing you to gain more experience and thus grow your business. As a part of that, you could thread acquiring the slaves and then offer one or more each season as a featured slave or "house special" as it were. People like unique slaves and going that direction could make things more interesting for your character as well as those who would buy from you.

Another item of note, you have a single employee who helps catch the slaves for you. That is alright but is your PC going to be the one tending to the slaves on a daily basis? If not, you may want to consider having another employee helping in that regard. Based on the current proposed slave list, you would have at least 10 slaves on site. This alone can be a bit much for a single person to manage.

Hi Gillar,

Thank you so much for checking this over :) I made the required edits, bringing my collection of slaves down to four types and acquiring a caretaker NPC. The initial cost of slaves has also been figured into the debt.

Again, thanks :D

Approved with the following additional considerations:

Looking good! The last thing I would ask that you alter as a condition of approval is the job type that the base income is associated with. This change is actually due to my own mistake in not having had a Slaver occupation added to the Income section of the Price List. It is now added and includes the types of skills one needs to access this occupation.

In your case, the use of Larceny for your skill bonus must be backed up by your methods of acquiring slaves. As Larceny is a "criminal" skill, you will have to focus on kidnapping and other unsavory methods of acquiring slaves in order to keep your sales bonus. This is not to say that if you were to gain and build any one of these skills: Persuasion, Leadership or Intimidation, you couldn't use one of them as a substitute and evolve your slaver operation in a different direction.

Keep in mind that slavery is accepted in many cities throughout Mizahar and the buying and selling of slaves is not illegal in most places. Actual smuggling of slaves would only take place in cities where it is illegal or in the case of kidnapping someone and moving them from one place to another or even freeing them and getting them someplace safe.

Disclaimer: I am just approving the Business Plan itself. Actual approval of NPCs and of the Business Location itself is reserved for Storyteller Approval and Help Desk Approval when necessary.
