A smile of his. Giving a warm feeling for her always. Again he was focusing at the staff. She was still worried and was looking at the staff's place. No one and nothing was there. She was really paranoid, would be really awkward if something would happen with it. Though she could stop any person who tries to approach there, while Clyde could deal with that. She was trying to calm herself with these thoughts. They could protect themselves, they could protect that staff.

Then for her relief, Clyde was heading towards to the bush where she hid it. She was amazed, the staff and him really had a connection between them. She was following him and he hold it with triumphant. It was amazing to see. Elaine nodded and got a bit confused when he was wondering about the gender of the staff. Did magic staffs have gender as well? Odd. But it made her thinking as well.

"Cha sounds girly. And you also said you used Kouri's soulmist right? Probably Cha is a her... but... Giving staff a gender?" During her thoughts she questioned herself again. Then another try to possess him. Although she used her soulmist to bring the staff, it wasn't that tiring, she still could restore her power a bit. "It's my pleasure to help, it's amazing. I wonder what the staff and you could do. And sure, just give me 2-3 chimes, I'll get myself fully ready." She was close to Clyde with her soulmist around him.

She wanted to sure to collect all of her soulmist and was trying to focus to not get so distracted again and end the possession so early. She also looked at Cha. She didn't plan to go through it. Those chimes passed and she was about to enter."Take a breath!" She said and as the mage did, she invaded his body with her soulmist and entered. She was inside.

Clyde was again making sure to stop his body to throw her out. She had control of his body, she tried to imagine it as body was her own. But with that she felt a strange tickling. Clyde's body was tickling. The image of the staff got into S'Essy's mind. "Clyde, I feel your body's reaction to the staff or something..."

Clyde nodded in response to Elaine's words, a small flicker of a smile passing over his face as he listened to her reasoning on the gender of the staff.

"Cha sounds girly. And you also said you used Kouri's soulmist right? Probably Cha is a her... but... Giving staff a gender?"

“Well, perhaps it would not make sense to most, but it seems fitting for Cha, to give it a gender. And I can't keep calling Cha a it... Usually staffs are considered male, or at least Magic Staff's work with the "male" magics as they are called at times, which are mainly the personal magics. However Cha itself, seems I agree more of a female despite its appearance and what it does.”

“The name though is in the ancient tongue, Cha is the word for blue, and Cha is... Well blue! The name is simple, but that is what it means. Regardless, from now on Cha is a she.”

As they passed on to the possession, Clyde prepared himself. He recalled the mistake he'd made before, and knew he would not make it again.

"It's my pleasure to help, it's amazing. I wonder what the staff and you could do. And sure, just give me 2-3 chimes, I'll get myself fully ready. Take a breath!"

As she indicated, Clyde took in a deep breath as he was enveloped in the soulmist, and Elaine pushed herself inside of the vessel that was Clyde's body, filling him in and taking over control.

As she took over though, Elaine's first response was a odd one.

"Clyde, I feel your body's reaction to the staff or something..."

Clyde was confused, and was not quite certain at first what she meant. He thought to a moment ago, to the buzzing or tingling he had felt for a moment as he picked up the staff. But at the moment he felt nothing. Or at least, nothing noticeable. However clearly Elaine was saying she could feel something.

He concentrated for a moment, feeling out for the sensation, but noticed nothing unusual. But of course he had been carrying around Cha for quite some time, and it was becoming much more comfortable and familiar in his hand. Perhaps he had just gotten used to it, and it felt more odd when it was missing than it did when it was with him.

'Ah, I am not sure Elaine... I used to feel it, but I stopped feeling the tingling awhile ago. Perhaps once you get used to it the sensation will fade. I think it has something to do with my Auristics, and the Magecrafting in the staff.'

Clyde paused for a moment, straining inside of his body, but doing his best not to fight or try to seize control. As they stood there, he felt a cramp slowly rising in his left leg, from the way they were standing.

'Elaine, could we move a bit? I'm starting to cramp up. Walk or something.'

He got used to it but she didn't. Also she was confused. Auristics? Was it another magic?"What is Auristics? I use your magic or... You'll explain Auristecs or auristics later." She didn't want to waste time and power. But with talking she started to forget that she felt ticklings. Though she wondered if she really used magic not purposely right at the moment. Not likely although deep inside she hoped.

Then Clyde again spoke to her. Just after that she made a step with his right leg. It was easy this time, she remembered how to use the legs. She raised the left leg as well, made a step. She was walking with his body. It was more natural, still imperfect, probably because she was weak to control it properly and Clyde's body was still about to throw her out.

"This time it goes well. And won't walk out. I still have a little power thanks to your resistance. What else to do..." She was thinking for a bit, she tried to not make him wait. She didn't know how he was struggling. She had an idea, she wanted do it. She was heading towards Rye. She didn't know if the dog would know if he's being possessed, so she attempted to pat. She moved his other hand close to the dog.

"What is Auristics? I use your magic or... You'll explain Auristecs or auristics later."

Clyde mentally shook his head, a small flicker of a smile being sent at Elaine.

'No Elaine, you did not do Auristics, did not do my magic, it is simply a innate passive capability of the magic. Its the proximity, that is all. Auristics lets me look at things, to look at them more deeply, to see things mundane eyes cannot. Being so close to my staff, which is a potently magical object, the djed's of it are ringing out aloud as it rubs on my own aura.'

While Clyde still had much to learn, he believed he was getting better at mentally talking to a ghost while being possessed. Vague images and words projected could be seen by the spirit inhabiting him. But only if he concentrated.

He also found that concentrating on talking to the spirit made it easier to be possessed and to not fight the possession, as it distracted him from the discomfort. A though occurred to him then... Did perhaps his thoughts directed at her distract her, and mess up her ability to possess him as much as it made it easier for him to not fight the possession?

As they walked about, Clyde could see that Elaine was slowly getting better at possessing him, and at controlling his more fine motor ability. She was moving his limbs and walking much better than when she'd tried before.

"This time it goes well. And won't walk out. I still have a little power thanks to your resistance. What else to do..."

Clyde saw himself moving through his own eyes, in a rather detached way since he was not the one moving his limbs. It was still odd, to see through your own eyes but be unable to affect yourself.

As Elaine approached Rye, she realized what she was doing. She was petting him. Rye looked up as he approached, but did nothing else, did not growl or bark. After all he could not sense a possession, could not see ghosts, and was trained to be loyal to his master.

He felt his own hand move out to pat the dog, touching on its head and its smooth fur that lay flat. He was not a fluffy dog, instead a Bozderan Shadow Dog, a thing of shadows and the night.

As she patted him, Clyde directed a mental image of petting at Elaine, pairing it with his words directed at her.

'Trying petting him, slowly and not to hard, just down his back and along the grain of the fur. But make sure you go with the way of the fur, you don't want to fight it, dogs don't like that.'

As he said this, he sent another image to her, of a hand petting Rye, showing her the ways to pet him so as to make it nice and to not go against the flow of the short smoothed down black fur. He showed her petting downward along his back, starting at the neck and going towards his tail, then picking up his hand and moving it to the starting place, and sliding his hand down its back again.

She was disappointed by the fact that it was not her that do the magic. Secretly inside she hoped but she could get over the fact. At least she knew what Auristics was. Or at least had an idea what it could be. She didn't waste too much time to think about it.

And she went to the dog, she was about to pet it but Clyde again spoke to her. Pet it slowly and along the way of the fur. She even saw his images that he sent for her. Showing her the way to do it. She saw as Clyde's hand was going down on his back, and doing it all again. "Got it."

She tried to do the same. But it was not as easy as she saw. She had to use somebody's hand. She was moving Clyde's hand and placed on Rye's neck. The movement was slow and unsure a bit. Then slowly, maybe a bit too slow, she was moving it down along the dog's back. Till the tail and then placed it back up on his neck and did the same again. She was a bit suprised that she didn't feel anything. She forgot that it was not her body. She wouldn't feel his fur. "I wish I could feel it myself. But why do I expect more always? I thought I changed that attitude by now." Commented and sighed mentally.

"Got it."

Elaine accepted Clyde's directions, and began to pet Rye using his hand, bending and rotating his arm and shoulder so that the palm of his hand would move across Rye's fur.

It was not a smooth motion, a bit jerky, but not horrible. However it was clear from seeing it that Elaine was unsure of herself, and was unwilling to fully commit to her actions. Of course if she did over commit she might end up striking Rye, or grinding his hand into his back... So perhaps it was a good thing that she erred on the side of caution.

But still, until she was more comfortable with moving about his limbs, and in controlling his body, neither of them would be able to function well together.

Elaine's next words were a bit surprising in their content.

"I wish I could feel it myself. But why do I expect more always? I thought I changed that attitude by now."

Clyde sent a mental sigh at Elaine, and thought of shaking his head. His body did not take the action, but he supposed Elaine would understand.

'I do not know Elaine... I suppose it must be odd, seeing yourself moving a limb, but not feeling through it. But your living life is in the past, you must pass on from it, not dwell on what has been left behind. You can only do what you can do. But I will work with you so that you can get better at it, so that you can better yourself in your current state with your current abilities.'

As Clyde finished speaking, a thought occurred to him. However unlike the other thoughts Clyde had sent at Elaine, he consciously kept himself from projecting this thought to Elaine. It was far to dangerous a memory.

For he recalled from he words his prior encounter with Fubuki, where he had been possessed, and where he had aided her in using Auristics through him, had guided her. Of course, she unlike Elaine had already bee a mage, had already known mage... And Clyde had done it unwillingly, for something he needed, which was her powerful soulmist... Otherwise he would not have offered to teach her.

Through that usage of Auristics, Fubuki had been able to sense and feel, since it was not mundane sensations but magical ones directly fed into his mind. He had learned then that it was possible for ghosts to feel human sensations and senses, when fed through his own mind via Auristics and into the possessing spirit. But of course that had ended horribly, as Fubuki had been so excited by the sudden sensations she had thought lost that she tried to seize control and almost injured Clyde in her desire to sense everything. Clyde had only just managed to halt her before she had gone too far and permanently injured him, by overgiving in Auristics.

As it was, he did not think making another attempt at the magic with a ghost possessing him was a good idea. Plus, he was unsure if it was a good idea for Elaine to learn magic... She did not really need to know it, and he felt that he could trust her mental state better if there wasn't the constant threat of such magic looming overhead.

'Elaine... Was there anything else you'd like to try, while you are still possessing me?'

Synchronizing their moves this way was not possible. Her control was clumsy and unsure. Like a baby when they try to walk. But as she was patting Rye through the mage, she realized that it was a good practise for her and hopefully for Clyde as well. Then she stopped, she was getting tired again and she wasn't sure how long she could stay in his body or how long could he stop himself from pushing her out.

Then she saw and heard the messages which Clyde sent through his mind. Living life is in the past. She knew that once, why couldn't she accept it now? The change, the emotions she developed disturbed her. But she was working on it, she needed to change that and she wished to do that without chaos this time. Elaine sent him back a smile mentally and her thoughts of gratitude. With someone like him she could do it.

She didn't mind that she couldn't use any magic. It was a bit disappointing still but that was her least problem. She wasn't even sure if she could do magic properly. Assisting and helping Clyde was enough, she could see the wonders that way. Her focus should be to train her own soulmist and abilities to help him.

She was thinking what else to do. But she was tired, not much power she had to do anything big. "I'm getting tired. If you want me to do anything, I can try but I'll come out from your body pretty soon."

[The Prairie] Trust me! (Clyde)

Postby Clyde Sullins on June 9th, 2014, 10:55 pm

Clyde felt her mental smile, and some vagueness that he could not quite describe. Perhaps it was a feeling, or a emotion, but Clyde could not pin it down one way or the other. Likely this was more due to him, although it could have easily been in part due to his abilities as a spiritist. Or perhaps it was just something innate about him that befuddled what was sent.

Either way, as Clyde had a moment without anything to concentrate or to think upon, the dull ache spreading through his body rose once more to the forefront of his mind. In particular his arms and legs ached where Elaine had used them, but his bodies muscles in general seemed to ache... As if someone had been using and stretching them incorrectly without realizing it, which was all to likely as he was little more than a doll for Elaine to move in.

However if nothing else had been gained from this encounter Elaine did seem to be getting used to breathing once more. He hardly had to remind her this time, perhaps she was even getting into the habit of the action. But then she was a odd ghost, and she did pretend to breath while not possessing, so perhaps that played a factor. Clyde was unsure, so he simply pressed on.

"I'm getting tired. If you want me to do anything, I can try but I'll come out from your body pretty soon."

In response to her words Clyde sent her a mental sigh, and relaxed the equivalent of the muscles one used to hold in ones gut on the exhale. Except in this case he was not trying to keep in a potbelly, but trying to keep in Elaine, to not grind and push against her so as to stop her actions.

It was a bit odd for Clyde, since once more it was a thing he only noticed once it had stopped. He had not even realized he had been consciously holding her in and fighting the desire to work against her, but now that he had stopped he could feel the difference, could feel the gentle pushing trying to force her out of him.

Yes, that would be nice... I'll be aching enough as it is for awhile after all that. You are getting better, but you've still not gotten using my limbs and muscles and things quite right. Perhaps we should just end this meeting for now...

With another mental sigh, Clyde sent another small shove aimed at Elaine and trying to nudge her out a bit more. It seemed that this meeting had come to a conclusion, and he was rather tired both physically and mentally. Being possessed took a toll on him in both regards, even if it was not as draining djed wise as most of his magics. It was a different kind of tired, a different kind of ache.

She was a bit happy that he didn't want anything else, she was too tired for anything. She didn't know how could she stay that long anyway. Clyde's body didn't resist anymore and Elaine didn't fight against his will, she came out from his body with her soulmist and manifested in front of him. It was a bit strange to be out from his body and be a ghost again but she quickly got used to that form again.

She looked back at Clyde, having a slight smile and was a bit confused. What did he mean when he said end this meeting. "Thank you! But.. I can't go with you to your ho-- erm place, can I?" She asked it like she knew the answer honestly. Her voice was filled with dissapointment.

[The Prairie] Trust me! (Clyde)

Postby Clyde Sullins on June 14th, 2014, 11:45 pm

Their union ending, Elaine pushed her way out of Clyde, manifesting in her full ghostly form before him. As she left his body the aches renewed with a fresh vigor, almost as if they had been waiting for her to leave to truly manifest. Of course the more logical side of Clyde's mind reasoned this was because he was somewhat distracted from the aches by the possession, and without it to distract him they hit him full force.

Clyde looked back at Elaine as she asked her next question. Sadly he could not give her a answer that would surprise her, not without lying.

"Thank you! But.. I can't go with you to your ho-- erm place, can I?"

“It probably would not be a good idea... My current master here on Sahova, I am learning a lot from her, but I am uncertain how she would feel about you coming around. Perhaps once I am a bit more settled, and once she has learned she can trust me, perhaps then I could try and bring you. But it might not be to safe. The place is heavily warded and safeguarded, and I am unsure if anything might be set off by you coming in. So it might be safer for you to keep clear.”

Letting out a sigh, Clyde spent a few moments flexing and popping his joints, testing out various muscles, and trying to un-bunch himself.

“Elaine, I am unsure how long I will be on Sahova, when I might move on, but I will make sure to see you again before then, if you still wish to come with me. But I suppose for now we shall part. Until next time.”

With that Clyde would go about collecting his things, calling Rye after him, and head back to the citadel and the labs. He planned to make it a early night, in hopes that a good rest would ease his strained muscles. And who knew what he might be called to do next.
