Today Ricky had taken an earlier shift to do his patrols so that he'd have more personal time to spend with his family, since the sad recent news Ricky had to hear from his wife led to the two feeling a little blue. He figured that what with the stress he dealt with during the work hours, considering that he could very well still have aggressors to worry about from the Ivysess incident the other day, and with the depressive state the home felt after much stress put on Telion, there was a definite need to spend a bit of time out together. So naturally the best place to go was out near the sea since that somehow alleviated things a little, granted Telion still felt pretty torn up about the whole event it still made things difficult for a little while.

Her energy appeared saturated to Ricky and it bugged him so, yet still he didn't give up on the hope that she would feel a bit at ease as time moved on. Plus with their son here to cheer them up, he believed that it wouldn't be long before she had the same high spirits again. Thus they sat on the blanket laid out across the sand as Martin had his toys to play with, although he was more or less interested in the sand as he already made several attempts to eat it. That was when Ricky decided to sit with the boy and draw shapes in the sand, there wasn't anything specific as it was basically just sand. For one Ricky didn't have incredible drawing skills to being with, and two Martin was too young to know how to draw advanced stuff, especially when it came to drawing in the sand!

Ricky drew things like circles and swirls though, and lines that created waves as he drew sharp points in the sand. Martin tried to mimic the same thing which in turn created zigzagged lines here and there, while Telion laid on her back with her elbows used to prop her up, so that she could watch the two with a small smile. She appeared to be lost in thought though, as she definitely had a bit to think about for a while since what had happened affected her mostly. Still it saddened Ricky just a little bit, to think that his wife had to go through such period like this. Often he tried to comfort her and even ask if he could do anything for her, but her answer was always the same "Just gimme a little while," every time he attempted it.

"Yer mum'll be fine son, she's just dealin' wit' somet'in we both didn't expect." He assured his son as the boy continued to play and grapple at the sand, yet the words were more for self reassurance. As he'd definitely grown concerned about what it was his wife thought about.

What's He Doing??

"Are there fish in the jungle?"

The question was thrown to Ayatah as Kuame trotted off, bare feet leaving misshapen footprints in the wet sand. The tide lapped them up, dragging away the only evidence of Kuame's visit to the beach. Aya hurried after the boy.

"Yes, some. In the Kandukta Basin." She scouted over across the sea, the endless water that separated her and all other land. "Though I can't fish myself."

Kuame paused, allowing the Myrian to catch up with him before he walked with her, tiny hand in hers. "I'd like to learn how to fish." The request was timid, incredibly polite. He was a boy who was unused to asking for what he wanted, let alone receiving it. In the orphanage, such desires became lost amongst financial struggles and the other children.

Ayatah smiled at his delicate words, but inside panick and guilt wrecked her gut. She was equally unfamiliar with being the provider for a child, but already the prospect of disappointing Kuame was impossible, something she refused to even consider. The boy had had so little for such a long time that all the half-breed wanted to do was to make him happy, to give him all the toys and lessons he wanted. Fishing was not her forte, though. Hunting; yes. Killing Dhani; yes. Anthropology; yes. Fishing; Gods, no.

She feigned another reassuring smile. "We can learn together."

He giggled delightedly and scampered off again, kicking up wet sand that fell back down with satisfying little plops. Again Kuame stopped, this time facing two figures further back into the beach. He pointed, though his hand fell back down to his side once he remembered that such an action was rude. "What're they doing?"

Aya squinted, then shrugged. "I'm not sure, rea-"

Her words were cut short when Kuame once again ran off, this time away from the sea and towards the strangers. Aya followed hurriedly, her legs wobbly in the sand and she muttered in irritable Myrian about grounds that shifted under one's feet. "Kuame, I think they're playing." She called, but her words fell on deaf ears. She would have been more concerned, but one of the huddled forms looked like a child - an infant, even.

The boy reached the two figures - a man with the child - and smiled happily. He was too young to be shy. "Hello. What're you two doing? Are you building sandcastles? Can I help?

Aya finally arrived, hair windswept and brow furrowed. "Sorry." She mouthed to the adult male, shaking her feet to knock off the sand that had wedged itself between her toes. When her black eyes fell occe again to his face, her frown eased and she gave a slightly confused smile. [b]"Oh. Hello."[b]

Where do I know you from?

Ricky had actually focused a bit more on Martin then as the child tried to do what he always did, and grabbed sand to attempt to put it in his mouth out of curiosity. Of course Ricky managed to stop him by a quick but gentle grab as his wrist as he told the boy "No," and brushed the sand out of his palm. The child flailed his arms out as he didn't like hearing the word, but nevertheless he earned a good laugh from both his parents for points in being cute about it all together. That was when they had an unexpected visitor pop up to greet them, eager to ask and see about participating in playing in the sand more or less. It'd surprised the three of them all the same but the fact it was another child set that to ease, as Ricky smiled to return the greeting to the boy before his would be mother showed up. "Well hi t'ere! Ye're a spritely fella ain't ya?" Then finally the woman he saw coming after him arrived, an quick apology provided for what she probably feared was an interference in personal time.

Ricky chuckled as did his wife as she rose to sit up with a friendly smile on her face, the couple warm with their greeting while their son watched the new arrivals with wide eyed curiosity. "Heyo! No need t' apologize ma'am, yer son was only eager t' see if he could play wit'' us. He's really quite energetic." He noted with a grin as he glanced at the boy, amused to see him move about as though he had ants in his trousers. He took a closer look at the lady and remembered the face from somewhere before, it'd been a long while but somehow, he remembered seeing that face of hers once or twice some time ago. It intrigued him but he wouldn't let it generate an awkward aura between the two parties, so instead he decided to address it at a later moment and see if they'd find out if and how they knew each other, as the best way to genuinely do that was interact and get to know a person. Besides even if he knew who the woman was he didn't know the child, therefore connection through a face wasn't really going to happen so easily, as the previous memory of the face had no child found with it.

Still he granted her a warm welcome as he nodded his head sideways, a friendly invitation extended to the both of them in doing so. "Why don't ya 'ave a seat lass, yew an' yer boy can rest a while if ye like. We were just enjoyin' de weat'er an' Syna as she descended over de horizon." He added as he looked down at Martin once more, quick to catch the boy as he attempted to eat sand once again. "Oy! Lil' boy keep dat up an' Oi'll let ya try eatin' sand just a wee bit, and t'en ye'll be cryin' cause ye don't like how nasty it is in yer mouth!" He protested as he brushed it out of the boys hand for a second time, Martin of course whimpered as he about threw a fit for not being able to eat it.
