Well well well, here we go again!
Welcome to Summer!Firstly, I'm excited to see what this season will bring, both in terms of faces new and old and all of those delicious plots you all have been fermenting since the spring! I'm looking forward to seeing what stories you all will weave.
So, I thought I would just try to steal a little bit of your time with this post to discuss the calendar as well as a few things I'm going to be adding to the city location-wise as well as rewrites and such. So here we go!
I'm sure you've all noticed that the calendar has some nifty little interactive events. Unless there is a specific note attached to the event,
they do not need to be moderated. However, do try to use common sense with that. If you're wanting to befriend, tame, and capture one of the bears, I would need to see extensive roleplaying put into that to even think about running a little moderated event in which the possibility of winning the bear's loyalty could even be considered. (Though I would suggest against this specific course of action.)
So the first bit: Imagine something like a diamond mine, only instead of terrible forced labor and blood diamonds everywhere, there's caves and the occasional rock dwelling! The flat bit at the bottom is actually quite large... Sort of like a massive city plaza. The paths themselves are relatively wide, more than enough space for two wagons to pass side by side.
The next span of "bland" is like developmental housing. Everything is neatly quartered, all the houses are the same square, grey design, and the roads are straight and even. Streets will still shift, but there isn't a whole lot of illusionary variation on this one. The Pudgy Men will appear at the corner of every intersection, so there are quite a few of them. They can't be killed, though keep in mind the general opinion of them is a fair amount of fondness, so violent acts will probably be met with resistance from the rest of the community.
Finally, the segment with doors. It's like never stepping outside. Each door leads to a new place, though it should be noted that any outdoor locations are inaccessible for the duration of the event period, though windows will be able to see outside, they cannot be opened. You can break them, if you like, but there won't be anything behind them but wall.
Bonnie and Clyde are, for the time being, more rumor than NPC. If you would like to write seeing them, that's fine, but please do not self moderate them.
So with that... We have another
new location! The Cravens are a longstanding family of spritists who protect the city from a plethora of undesirables. Do give them a gander, and if any of them spark your plot sense, feel free to send me a PM with thoughts and we can discuss!
The Womiyu rewrite is coming along nicely. I have several more things I need to do, but as it's getting close to completion, I am leaning more towards a new set of NPCs. There is a good chance the old NPCs may still be used for various plots, but I'm going to just say now that if you have included them in your plots for the future, now is the time to revamp those without them.
I'm also (very slowly) working on more of a player's guide to Alvadas. I'm having a little bit of trouble getting all of my thoughts down into a neatly ordered list of sorts, so again, if there was/is/might be anything you're uncertain of with the available information or wish specific things were easier to find in regards to know-how, please don't hesitate to point them out to me. I've been inundated with Alvadas lore from the moment I became AS, so my ideas of what people might not understand are a little warped from what a new player coming into the city might find confusing.
Very lastly, but certainly not leastly, we have another birthday!
Happy Birthday Aislyn!
I hope your day is filled with sweet things and giddy excitement. Congratulations on another year, and here's to many more to come!
And with that, I think that's everything I wanted to say! If you've put up placeholders for your job threads, please finish those and submit them to my office for wages. If you're needing a job, please submit a request in my office as well. As always, if you need any help or have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me, and I'll do the best I can to address those things with you!
May your quills never still and thoughts never flop!
