[Pigs Foot Tavern] Taverns and punchlines

Postby Fir Springhollow on June 26th, 2016, 12:49 am

Fir was not some one who was about to be out done, and not by some one who she had just met. She scanned the room before settling on a table at the far side of the room, it was currently being manned, so to speak by some one she had seen once or twice, it wasn't a man she tended to deal with simply because well, she didn't much have a thing for auburn hair, but clearly she was out to win not to be picky.

"Jaysh by yourself?" She asked all friendly like as she took a seat ignoring his fairly confused look. " Thought I'd come over and say hello, maybe keep you company." Her poor victim who seemed to be half in his cups already looked at her before offering a semi friendly grin. "Never done that before." He'd reply as she made herself comfortable.

"Well, darling. I just never had the time before and you always seemed to be so busy. Can't help but notice that though. Around here a man who has coins stands out you know?" She'd offer with a casual half shrug which allowed her go for the classic hair toss, yeah she went there. The fact the poor man was less than sober was one of the reasons she might respond to what was clearly an act. " Is that so?" He asked. Fir shoved down any pride she might have had and nodded. "Of course, not many people bother to do it. Hear people talking about it all the time." She'd offer with her most winning smile, leaning towards him to allow him a view of her rather low cut cleavage.

Clearly Jaysh liked what he saw, of course it was a tavern in Sunberth he would be likely to like anything that offered and appeared to be disease free. Fir seeing some interest decided to press her luck and keep moving things along. She leaned in closer, allowing the fact she was wearing a light floral scent to greet him. "Mmhmm in fact I think you've got a good head on your shoulders. In fact it's rather attractive, if you want to know the truth of it." She'd add casually as possible almost as if it was an after thought. "Oh really?" She grinned at his question. "Of course." She invaded his personal space and was nearly on the table at this point.

"Well, that's good to know." Clearly what ever it was he had been drinking was going to his head, which was the reason why Fir has singled him out to start with. "Of course." She would reach over and run a test hand through his hair. As she didn't get her wrist broken she took it as a good sign and moved in closer, in so much as the table would allow her.

"Are you sure because so far you've been a stuck up--" Whatever he was going to say was cut off when Fir decided to plop herself on his lap, though she was half expecting to be dumped on the floor at any moment. The fact she was not she took as a good sign and took a drink of what ever it was that was in his mug wincing for a moment as it burned her throat. "Don't you mind that." She hushed him before he started thinking too deeply.

Aladari watched her opponent skilfully slide up to a man, creeping closer and closer until Aladari was sure she'd be punched. Somehow, she was not, and in fact looked as though she were doing good work. She was talking so easily, laughing like it was nothing. She knew how to charm, that was for sure. But Aladari was certain she knew the people of Sunberth better. She knew how to play the game...didn't she?

Aladari frowned, and her eyes turned a solid, darkened brown. When she turned back to the man upon whom she had been sitting, he noticed the change in her features immediately. "Y'all right, hon? Look like somethin's troublin' ya."

Shaken back into focus, Aladari laughed nervously and shook her head. "No, no. Is fine." But her man pressed on. "You sure? Yer lookin'...different. Unhappy. Somerhin' bout yer eyes. And it ain't lookin' good." Aladari shifted in her seat, causing the man to wince in pain.

"Ach!"

"Sorry."

Even more irritated now, he pushed harder for answers. "Why you so intrested in those kids? He your ex or somethin'?"

"My...? No, is just that I thought that I knew one of those people. I was wrong. Is nothing."

"Y'know, it might be best for ya to jus' go." He clarified these words with a firm push on Aladari's back, standing up and sliding her onto her feet. "Maybe try Brega's later. See if she got work for ya. Might make real coin there."

Aladari was stunned. Brega's? He thought she was a whore! Of course, she was playing men for money, but she never once had intended to whore herself out. How lowly! How disgraceful! Maybe she needed a different tactic. She waited a moment for the patrons to cycle out, and for a new crowd of drunks to come in. Selecting a new target- a gentle man of young age- she walked over slowly, trying her best to drag her feet.

"Excuse-" She started in Vani, but stopped, as though she had to remind herself to speak Common. "Excuse. Am sorry, but just got to here." Breaking up her Common was a much easier task than flirting, and she found her native tongue (and old Common mistakes) flooding back to her memory easily. "Is anyone here who speak with the Vani? Need help. Hurt foot, need help." She made a show of limping, dragging her foot at the ankle. She added a dramatic blinking away of tears, just for good measure. "Please?"
"The sea always filled her with longing, though for what she was never sure."

[Pigs Foot Tavern] Taverns and punchlines

Postby Fir Springhollow on July 3rd, 2016, 9:44 pm

Fir had been keeping an eye on the other woman out of the corner of her eye, at least as best as she could, after all she was here to win not actually get lucky, at least for now. The vanthi was good enough to at least hold one person's attention, she had to give her that. Of course the other woman looked like she hadn't done it often, which was something Fir was banking on.

She had managed to shift positions just in time to see her get shoved towards the door, which was something Fir had thought of as happening. She heaved a sigh as the watched the fiasco unfold. She had been in it for a bit of fun and truth be told to maintain her own ego, but she didn't dislike the other woman enough for her to cause an issue and from where she was sitting that was exactly what it was starting to look like.

The question then became what to do about it? She could just leave her be but she honestly did trust her not to find more trouble between the tavern and the docks. Fir had to admit to herself she would feel a bit bad if what had started off as a game had got some one in to actual trouble. She wasn't quiet ready to interfere but simply wrapped the man's arm around and leaned in telling him something in a low tone, he nodded and she placed a nearly chaste kiss on the side of his cheek, pulling herself away.

She moved to get a better view but still tried to stay out of Aladir's direct line of sight, trying to figure out just what it was she was witnessing. She adjusted her top back down for good measure she was just observing for now but a view of cleavage never hurt any tavern patron that she was aware of.

Aladri was speaking some language Fir had no knowledge of and was dragging her leg around like some sort of wounded creature that managed to drag its self into the tavern. With out the vocal context she had no way to know what was actually going on and she tilted her head curiously as she watched the display.

She was also aware of the new group of people and wondered if any of them would assume she was a maiden in need of saving. People like that in this tavern was rare but they did come by from time to time, enough that she had a fighting chance of landing one. Fir had to admit it was a novel approach to take to.

"Get tha petch outta 'ere. Go find somewhere else ta beg."

Clearly, the bartender was not at all convinced. Luckily, there was a bleeding heart in the crowd, and they had seen what was happening.

"You see her injured, and you tell her to go elsewhere? What kind of heartless beasts are you all?" The man chastised the bartender. He was fair-looking, with clean clothes and an accent that said he wasn't from there. So, it was understandable that the rest of the patrons were eager to agree.

"Come here." He offered kindly. "You take this," He deposited a handful of Silver Mizas in her outstretched hand. "It won't get you fixed up, but you'll at least be able to clean it up at the bathhouse."

Aladari grinned widely, then quickly switched it to one of appreciation before he could become suspicious. "Thank. Morwen bless."

Triumphant, Aladari drug her foot dramatically over to a table and dumped her Mizas out to count. She was certain she had won, and it felt good.
