Winter 40th, 516A.V.
20th Bell

It was surprising to say the least that winter wouldn't be coming this year. No snow, warm temperatures... Crystal didn't know what to make of it. At the very least perhaps hunters going in to the Bronze Woods would be in luck, but wouldn't the sudden change affect other things? And seemingly the Vantha - a race that could somehow change the color of their eyes - and Morwen were to blame. Morwen had decided not to bring winter.

And the because of this Morwen's followers, or rather, those marked with her Gnosis were to blame executed. She briefly wondered if it was overreacting to kill them just because of a God's decision, but she knew that without a reason, there was no way Morwen would bring back the seasons. It was necessary.

Crystal patted her cheeks. Now wasn't the time to dwell on posters. She was on her way to the Windmount Stables in the hope of finding herself a mount.

She entered the stable area and her eyes widened. It was a decent sized stable with all kinds of mounts. Off to the side there were animals other than horses, but in front of her lay stables overflowing with horses. There were many sizes and colors, so much so that she had no idea where to begin.

She decided to just look around, and it probably appeared more of lost wandering.

[Windmunt Stables] Mount and Ride (Jade)

Jade walked into the Windmount Stables early that day to begin work. She had dropped off Dina at the Orphanage so she could spend the day with her friends while the young woman worked. Trayon had come and curled up in the corner while the girl got her things together. The smell of horses and hay made the woman relax while she moved around. Her boots softly clicked on the floor as her mind began to wander once more. Three Priests er well two priests and one priestess had posted up a very troubling notice that had nagged at the woman's mind. Why condemn a whole race for the actions of their leader? What would happen if they all retreated back to their home? Would all the other races gather together and chase them down? Something about all of the commotion did not sit well within the blonde's gut. It made her stomach twist and turn within, wondering if it would happen to the Drykas one day. If not only her people would be hunted down, but her get hunted down as well.

“Come on Jade. Snap out of it, there is no use getting inside your head,” the young girl said and shook her head.

She had to clear out all the fogginess and focus on her work. Hearing several horses neigh and stomp their hooves, the woman got up and walked out seeing a beautiful young woman browsing. Grabbing a rag, she wiped her hands while walking over with a soft smile. She did not want the woman to think she was in trouble.

“Hello, my name is Jade. I hope you have not been waiting long. Is there anything I can help you with?” Jade asked with her soft smile.

[Windmunt Stables] Mount and Ride (Jade)

Crystal wasn't taught much on horses, all she knew was that the knights rode them and even battled on them. Which meant it could be her doing the riding in the future. She would need to learn to at least mount a horse if riding was too difficult. That way she could show her Patron she was good at something.

She didn't want anything special, just something she could work with. She didn't need something exceptionally fast, nor something beautiful or eye catching. The horses here seem to neigh as she past, some of them stomping. A few of them stayed relatively still though except for the occasional tail sweep.

Crystal turned to face the other woman as she approached her. Her first thought was that someone was being friendly, but this woman, Jade as she had introduced, said was there something she could help with.

"Crystal. It's pleasure to meet you Jade," the young woman nodded to her, a small smile playing on her lips. "Ah, well... it's my first time being here. To the stables I mean. I'm looking for a mount, but I'm not sure how to go about finding one."

[Windmunt Stables] Mount and Ride (Jade)

The blonde nodded gently when the young woman introduced herself and explained her purpose for the visit to the stables. Looking at the array of horses the business, Jade took in the woman's form and apparent lack of knowledge. Crossing her arms the blonde bit the nail on her thumb trying to decide what would best suite the girl. She would need a horse that was calm and easy to handle. A stubborn horse can easily break the riding spirit of a new rider.

“Well that all depends on what you are looking for. There is the gender, breed, and temperament to think about when choosing a mount. You always want to make a horse to be rode into war isn't skittish and nervous. If your mount will not stand by you in battle then it is useless,” Jade explain while motioning for her to follow.

“We have several calm horses that would do you well. Some of our biggest sellers is the Zavians. This mare here is very calm and gentle; she is the easiest for new riders to learn on. If you want something more challenging then we have a Colorsplash or a Gilding. They are more mischievous,” Jade explained and rubbed the nose of one of them.

Jade smiled and looked back at the woman giving her time to think about what she wanted. The blonde moved out the way so that girl would be able to check each horse. Several horses moved within their stalls as the outsider neared. Each and everyone of them wanted to be taken out and rode. The young Drykas was sad for the animals always being cooped up.
