4th of Summer 518AV
It seemed profoundly odd, to Raeyn, that a medical facility would be located atop so many many stairs. His mind pulled apart all the impracticalities of such a choice as he ascended that very stair case himself. Then again this was Lhavit, a city which, albeit beautiful, did not always make the most sense to a man such as himself.
He'd been doing his best to weasel out of seeing the doctor the whole morning but alas it seemed that the only stubbornness that could ever match his own was that of his sister Mara. She had a way of making him bend to his bidding. A ways that hadn't always been so clear. It was something he admired in her, something he wish he had much more ease with himself. One could only imagine how much easier life for Raeyn could be if he learned to manipulate his sister quite as well as she manipulated him.
She had put dow her foot and no matter how much Raeyn would argue and refuse, he did in fact end up at the Caltholicon, the cure-all, that very day. The ache in his shoulder had not at all gotten better over night, no matter how much he convinced himself to the contrary, and the swelling now obstructed his movement. Subconsciously even Raeyn, in all his stubbornness, realised that he needed medical attention but it didn't stop him from hoping that if he just wished hard enough, it would all turn out to just be a mildly unpleasant dream and he would wake up in the darkness and safety of his bed with a warm dog nose beside him.
The domed, skyglass structure was indeed something to marvel at from afar as it sat atop the TenTen peak, shrouding the city below in it's healing shadow. After the ascent up all those stairs, one would certainly care less for the breathtaking aesthetics and more for the breathtaking effort it took to get there. But finally, he made it. There was no way of turning back. Not unless he wanted to be forced to make the same journey up the following day.
