Absolutely Ren! Doesn't matter if they're horses or finches! They're called rescue animals not just because of a bad home life previously. Most city run shelters are just so traumatic for an animal to go through that they need time to re learn love trust, comfort and security. You might lose a night or two of sleep, but just patience and your mere presence will make that animal adjust all the quicker. It's amazing when they start to trust you and actually seek you out for kitty chin scritches, parakeet nibbles, little chinchilla whisker sniffs, and big doggy slobber kisses! It's all worth it.

I adore that pic of Sweetie because you can really see her disposition in her expression. Ren I wish to dog they were mine!! I volunteer at star riding academy as assistant trainer and riding instructor. Sadly, I can't call any of these beauties as truly my own. I get to ride them, train them, care for them, luff them and nom on them, but I can't afford a horse. Rescue work pays me very little in money, but a great wealth in love.

*edit* to teach him to bow, use a crop to tickle behind the knee, the moment the horse picks up his leg, click the clicker simultaneously treating him to a carrot chunk. When he does this consistently for 2 weeks, move your hand (with carrot) to the front of his knee. the second he dips his head to take the treat, praise lavishly. Again after 2 weeks, dip the hand with the carrot lower, till his chin tucks to his chest. lather rinse repeat!**
