[Flashback]Reimancy makes camping fun[Bob]

Listening to Bob, he wondered what he meant by his last statement.

"Clash, clash what? What would we be having clash with each other, our magics? I am pretty sure if we did that, mine would come out superior. I'm a good bit more skilled than you in reimancy."

While saying this, there was still a bit of his concentration resting on his res floating as a gas up in the air. Not for controlling it, that took hardly any thought for him. No, it was on using the res. He wanted to use it, but he was not entirely sure how. He could throw another bolt of lightning... That would be nice...

Though Clyde was not realizing it, he was slowly slipping into unreasoning. He would soon find some reason to use his res, what this would be for was anyone's guess. He had already extruded the res, so using it would not hurt him further, however his previous overgiving was slowly prodding him into using the rest of what he had floating there.

And most likely this one would not be for as good a reason, if for a actual reason at all, or something seen as a valid reason by someone completely right at the moment.

Update 6/2/18- 1:10AM EST: His 7 year plan a success, and several weeks ahead of schedule, Clyde leaves to oversee the world he has taken over.

No new threads after end of Spring 518-Will still be checking for PM's occasionally, but focusing on a new character.

Bob moaned in disappointment with Clyde's lack of adventure. How can you not be curious with what will happen when lightning strikes bloodied water? But Bob really wanted to see it badly. It could be a reddish fireworks spreading the blood as red mist. So Bob sneakily placed the red blob on the ground with his back turned to Clyde so that he can conceal the red blob with his body. Then he stood back up and looked at Clyde and shouted since he was still deaf "YES! LIGHTNING IS THE BEST! DO IT AGAIN!!!" using the shout to distract Clyde from the red blob crawling towards the glyph Clyde used to mark the spot he'd use his lightning. Bob grinned thinking that the show will be going on.

[Flashback]Reimancy makes camping fun[Bob]

Clyde was pondering over using his magic, while Bob was conspiring to mess up his glyphs. Obviously Bob had missed that part of the lesson, as it was dangerous and possibly deadly to mess with a glyph, when it was filled with magic. Especially when said magic was lightning, dangerous enough when you were under control of it.

"Okay, well I am not sure.... should I.... maybe.... but on what...."

This was not really clear, though it was Clyde puzzling his way through whether or not to use it, and on what....

As the gaseous res floated above, the blob of water edged closer to the chalk drawn glyphs. Normally Clyde would have noticed it coming long before, but he was so lost in thought he did not even think about it. Finally he glanced over just as the water blob hit the chalk.

"No!!!" He shouted this out just as it hit, realizing to late what was going to happen. Turning away he saw a flash of light as the barrier glyphs failed, and before he could even move two steps, an explosion went off knocking him off of his feet and a good ten feet from were he had stood. As the crack of lightning buffeted his ears, he pulled up his hands to cover his head, as he lay there on the ground.

He had been rather lucky to have not been looking at the time, and to have only been knocked flying. Depending on which way the lightning had gone there was most likely a burning tree split in half lying some were. Hopefully Bob had been as lucky with the explosion, since he was a bit closer to the glyphs at the time than Clyde had been.

[Flashback]Reimancy makes camping fun[Bob]

Bob was shivering in anticipation as the red blob reached the glyph. If Clyde was not going to do it again, Bob would have to try and trick him. Maybe he should turn the blob into a curvy stream and shout "The snake brought friends! Get it!" but while he was thinking of it, an explosion of intense sounds and light interrupted him. Bob instinctively jumped backwards before being able to react and think before he smashed into a tree with a "CRACK!" The sound forced him to open his eyes and forget about everything else and the white ground was coming closer and closer to him.

Without thinking, Bob threw out an arm to stop himself. The arm only helped to slow him down as it bent outwards and Bob who is allergic to pain closed his eyes again. When he opened his eyes again, he was sitting upright on the snow without so much as a pain on his shoulder. It seems that by some weird freak accident, Bob fell on his shoulders when he tried to curl up like the coward he is and ended up rolling on his back following the force of the impact saving him a lot of pain. Still unaware what has happened, Bob looked around and was drawn to a burning tree. Near it was Clyde so Bob rushed over to him while holding his back to comfort the pain while shouting oblivious to what happened "That was so much better than the last one!"

Getting up slowly to his feet, Clyde brushed himself off, and looked around. He did not know what was wrong with this guy, and why in the world he would mess up his glyphs. They were lucky to not be killed, and only knocked around a bit.

It seemed he was more or less fine, he was a bit scratched up, and his pants had been ripped in a spot, but besides that he was fine. Turning, he checked over Bob, who was already approaching him.

"What are you, crazy? Trying to get us both killed! Don't you know to never mess with active glyphs, when they have magic sealed inside. We are lucky to be alive! Never do that again!"

Looking, he just know noticed the burning tree, which had been split in two by his freed magics. That would act as a beacon for the knights. It would be wise to get out of there soon, before they were dragged off to a dungeon.

"We had better go, we don't want the knights catching us near this destroyed tree. I think you might want to move your camp to, after all this madness."

Stepping back at Clyde's scream, Bob just had to ask "Wait what just happened then? Why are we lucky with the active glyph?" with a puzzled look on his face. And Bob did not like the prospect of moving camp. He didn't know where is the next best place to camp and he had to haul his gear there in the snow. But he knew how the knights were when it came to magic so he complied. "Alright, do you know anywhere else I can set up camp? And help me grab some of the stuff as well. I don't want any evidence pointing the knights to me." Bob quickly packed up his stuff and started arranging them to move. He also took the snake's body with him. If he was unlucky, the snake left at the scene could be used to point the knights straight to him. But snakes should have a lot of uses as well, maybe he will look into that for next time.

Looking over Bob, he wondered if he was joking. He had nearly killed them both, and he did not even realize how dangerous it was. Well that was a serious problem.

"How is it dangerous? How were we lucky? We are lucky we are more than a charred lump of dust! You should never mess with glyphs when they are in use. I sealed that bolt of lightning in it, and you just messed up the seal releasing it. Your lucky it did not explode, and only set off a small explosion along with freeing the magic. When you mess with glyphs in use, it can be very dangerous, and deadly!"

Moving and grabbing up some of the stuff from Bobs, camp, he made to leave as soon as possible. The knights would be here before long, and would sequester anyone that they thought had caused it.

"Just move it to another spot, we can figure it out later. We don't want to get caught here, red handed. We will find a spot, so lets go!"

Getting up, he would leave right away, assuming Bob would follow. He would not be coming back here, and was done training for today. He would be in enough trouble as is.

  • +4 Reimancy
  • +2 Glyphing
  • +2 Rhetoric
  • +1 Sword (Dancing)

Lores: Reimancy (Water Jet), Don't look at lightning, Dangers of breaking a loaded glyph

Care to see more? :
Reimancy experience for your manipulation of water and Res, Glyphing experience for your palm-glyphs, Rhetoric experience for the conversation, and Sword (Dancing) for the flailing at the snake.

Notes:An amusing little training thread. I do have a couple suggestions for each of you:

Clyde: I didn't award you any experience in glyphing as I felt your use of the skill didn't work at all. Chalk would not be able to draw upon soil, no matter how dry or hard packed it was. It's important to keep in mind how things would work when you're doing complex things like Glyphing. :)

Bob: We've already had the discussion regarding blood and water with Reimancy, so I won't rehash that here. Your use of the water jet was a bit confusing for me to follow, I had to read it over a couple times to understand what had happened. :)

As always, feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns. :)
My posting and other AS work will be slow for the time being. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, and I'll try to get back up and running at full speed soon.
