Bob watched while Antar struggled to get to his position. See? With his condition he should have let Bob be the one sneaking around. Bob kept his eye between Antar and the rat. Waiting to see which would go first. A flying arrow or a charging rat. Then suddenly in one of those times he turned between the two, he lost Antar! "Alright, so maybe he should be the one sneaking around" Bob thought to himself while he fixed his attention on the rat.
He waited not knowing what would happen while the rat did the same. Staring at him while he was flailing his sword. Suddenly Bob felt less safe even on the tree. He turned his back on the back for a moment and reached out his hand to another branch, putting his feet on the higher ones one by one trying to get as far as he could from the rat. But Bob was not good at climbing so he only got as high as his head would be if he stood at ground level. But that was good enough seeing the rat was a lot shorter than he was.
Then when he stood and turned back to look at the rat which was already charging. That accursed archer could not wait couldn't he? Bob could see the arrow sticking out of its back but that didn't slow the rat down much. He panicked yet again. He waved his arms to gesture the two attendants who he hoped has been following they planned earlier. "Go, go, go! Stab it, you are far enough! Quick, quick, quick!" he cried out worried.
The attendants who were waiting for his orders only made their move just as the rat was about to pass them. Stepping out from their hiding place with their giant pitchforks. Bob pointed out three fingers from his fists just like the pitchforks and started stabbing them at the middle. "Stab it, stab it! Stab it in the legs, the body, the tail. Anywhere as long as you can slow it down" or even stop it. Whether the attendants were listening to Bob or acting instinctively, at least they started stabbing their forks forward.
It slowed down a little bit, but Bob just hoped that it will stop and die. Somehow it pulled the attendants with it to the tree and started clawing at the air to get at Bob. Bob squealed, and raised his hands in the air in fear. Until one of the attendants shouted at him to hurry up. Then he realized. He can kill the mother rat and become the hero!
Bob drew his sword from his cane and raised it above his head. Giving him enough room to put as much strength as he could into the sword when it dives into ratty flesh. "Hold it still!" he shouted at the attendants and waited. Waited until the rat stopped moving too much. Then he leaped off the branch he was on on the ground right in front of the rat. He did not fight the force of landing, but brought his body with it. Bending himself to bring the sword closer to the rat until it pierced its head and killing it.
"Hey I am done now." Bob said waving his cane when he kept his sword. Then he walked over to the rat's nest. Trying to find out what made it want to stay there so badly when it should have just ran away.
