Endrykas

Personal Magic

Personal magic is typically used only by those in the Sapphire Clan, but can be found in small amounts elsewhere.

*Note: Leeching is absolutely forbidden/hated and practitioners of the art are put to death as soon as they are uncovered.

Abusing Magic
Those that abuse magic, depending on severity of the action, are exiled, and sent off into the grass unarmed and unarmored.

Any mages that have gone insane from overgiving, and are deemed a threat, are killed immediately and without hesitation.

World Magic
World magics are fairly common among the Drykas.

Very Common:
Webbing

Common:
Glyphing

*Note: Malediction is despised and very much looked down on.

Alvadas

Personal Magic

Magic in Alvadas is not accepted, but it is nonetheless far more common than most people in Alvadas would like. Because they are distrusted, misliked and in general looked down upon as dangerous madmen, as opposed to charming madmen.

Common:
Hypnotism
Auristics

*Note: Vulgar and openly used magic is severely opposed and looked down upon.

**Note: Leeching will cause the Silencers to seek you out and kill you.

Abusing Magic

Any mage that is found using magic toward abusive ends, will be met with death as soon as it is noticed.

If they've gone insane and they haven't hurt anyone, it's a bit of a toss-up. If that's been discovered you're either going to get put into a cell in the Asylum until you've 'recovered,' on the Headmaster's terms, or killed by the Silencers.

World Magic

World magics are all quite rare in Alvadas, and most of them are viewed negatively.

*Note: Animation is often met with a kinder and more trusted presence than the rest of the World Magics.

*Note: Summoning and Malediction are forbidden and looked down upon heavily, and will often be forced to stop or killed.

Divine Magic

Welcome Gnosis Marks:
Ionu - Illusionism
Avalis - Divination
Rak'keli - Healing

Despised Marks (Watched Closely, killed if a threat):
Vayt - Blight
Ionu Cursed Marks

All other Marks are considered neutral.

*Note: Magic for magic's own sake is very much frowned upon and considered a very dangerous preoccupation. It'll get the Silencers real itchy to jump on and get rid of you. However there is a special distinction made for people who make use of magic, personal or world, for the sake of their trade.

If you have a reimancer and a glypher, you're going to be concerned that he'll freak out and burn down your house. That worry does not go away, but it helps when he's sold you smokeless lights, and you feel that you have personally benefited from his magic. In their mind, it is the difference between a bandit lurking outside the city gates, and a mercenary offering themselves for a living. You still don't trust them since they've got a sword and could probably kill you with it, but they're useful and you make allowances for that.

Ravok

Personal Magic
Personal magic is best kept as discreet in Ravok. Blatant and open use of magic is extremely frowned upon. The Institute of Higher Learning was made originally to train, and control, magic users. Magic users outside the loyalty of the Ebonstryfe and Rhysol are usually recruited into The Rising Dawn.

Common:
Shielding
Flux
Auristics
Hypnotism

*Note: Leeching is forbidden due to Gru'tral (Ebonlord of the Ebonstryfe) being a powerful Leecher himself. In his mind, there is no room for competition in that area.

**Note: Reimancy, outside of the Black Sun or Ebonstryfe, is considered dangerous due to the average citizen being able to potentially upset the Ebonstryfe's complete control over the city (even if the threat to the Ebonstryfe would be mild).

Abusing Magic
Any mage that is found using magic toward abusive ends, will be at the worst, arrested, brought to Gru'tral and leeched of their magic. At best, arrested, imprisoned, brain-washed and turned to work on behalf of the Ebonstryfe.

Any mages that have gone insane from overgiving, are dealt with as well. If they are too uncontrollable, they are simply killed outright. If they can be leashed, they may be used to disrupt what the Ebonstryfe may see as enemies.

World Magic

World magics are very common among the Black Sun and the Ebonstryfe. Outside of them it is very rare to find them.

Common:
Glyphing
Magecrafting
Malediction

*Note: Spiritism is frowned upon due to it offering too much potential influence from other gods within Rhysol's domain. Even the Black Sun and the Ebonstryfe do not maintain great skill in Spiritism.

Divine Magic

Welcome Gnosis Marks:
Rhysol - Chaon
Vayt - Blight (Tolerated)
Krysus - Vexation (Tolerated)
Nikali - Ranuri
Sagallius - Cordas
Rak'keli - Healing

Forbidden Marks (Will be captured or killed on sight):
Glav/Sylir - Peace (full name unknown)
Gnora - Severing
Priskil - Luminance

All other Marks are considered neutral.

*Note: Ravok enjoys the illusion of control while their own agents work to inspire corruption and chaos among the citizens behind the scenes. The city guard as well as the Black Sun and the Ebonstryfe will often arbitrarily choose when and where they will enforce the "laws" on magic use in the city. Maintaining a certain level of uncertainty and the potential for all out chaos is the balance struck between the former Voice and Rhysol. With Rhysol's Voice now absent, it will be the Druvin, individually or in small numbers, who decide how the laws will be enforced, if at all. Chaos will likely grow within the city in various ways to various extents. Already, following the storm, major events are erupting throughout the city and magic can/will play a major roll in growing/continuing the chaos or muting it.

**Note: A lot is going to happen over the next few seasons. I don't know what the relationship with Rhysol and the new goddess of fear will be, but the Voice is gone. Very few people know that at the moment, but rumors will be spread. The Ebonstryfe is going to take extra measures to make sure those rumors do not spread, so there will be a lot of hypnotism going on. But... on a general day-to-day level, mainly I would like to say that magic is treated a lot like crime. Crime in Ravok exists, but only because the Ebonstryfe allows it to. Often a criminal operation is operating with the unofficial permission of the Ebonstryfe. The same goes for magic. Magic users are monitored and allowed to do what they will. Some of them know it, some of them don't, but there is few that goes on in the city that Rhysol and his Ebonstryfe don't know about. The word "secret" is little more than an illusion in Ravok.

Avanthal

Personal Magic

Personal magic is common, although it is only allowed as long as the magic is not endangering others.

Common:
Reimancy
Auristics
Projection
Shielding

*Note: Voiding is despised more so than the rest of the Personal Magics, but any that cause death and destruction are viewed negatively.

Abusing Magic
Any mage that is found using magic toward abusive ends, will be arrested and sent to the Svanhildr. Further, or more severe crimes, will result in banishment from the city.

Any mages that have gone insane from overgiving, and are deemed a threat, are handled the same as above.

World Magic
World magics are fairly uncommon in Avanthal, but are not unheard of.

Common:
Spiritism
Glyphing

*Note: Summoning is frowned heavily upon, due to the risks it poses to the city.

Divine Magic

Welcome Gnosis Marks:
Rak'keli - Healing
Morwen - Ice Reaving
Rhaus - Audius
Priskil - Luminance
Caiyha - Phylonura
Oriana - Sensitivity

Despised Marks (Watched Closely, killed if a threat):

The Spires

Personal Magic

Personal magic is common, but not overtly used.

Common:
Auristics

*Note: Leeching and Voiding are strictly forbidden.

Abusing Magic

Any mage that is found using magic toward abusive ends, will be dealt with by the Hahk'Shatara, usually by removal from the city. If the abuse is deemed severe enough, they may receive one of the three judgements, usually the shun, being that it is the least severe of the three.

Any mages that have gone insane from overgiving, and are deemed a threat, are most likely removed from the city and in serious cases, given one of the three judgements.

World Magic
World magics are much less common due to many of them being more unnatural in origin.

Common:
Glyphing

*Note: Animation, Alchemy, and Summoning are all strictly forbidden.

Divine Magic

Welcome Gnosis Marks:
Rak'keli - Healing
Rhaus - Audius
Bala - Cultivation
Qalayah - Graphomancy
Eyris - Lykata
Caiyha - Phylonura
Makutsi - Raindancing
Oriana - Sensitivity
Zulrav - Stormwarden
Eywaat - Tatani

Forbidden Marks (Will be captured on sight):
Uldr - Returning
Vayt - Blight

All other Marks are considered neutral.

*Note: For the most part, The Spires likes to keep things natural. This is why they do not like animation or alchemy. They worship Caiyha as their creator so those who follow her are always welcome.

Any mage that is found using magic toward abusive ends, will be killed on the spot.

Any mages that have gone insane from overgiving, and are deemed a threat, are killed immediately.

World Magic
World magics are slightly more common than Personal Magics, and are viewed only a bit better than them.

Common:
None

*Note: Magecrafting, Malediction, Spiritism, and Glyphing are mildly tolerated. Any magic that is easily perceived as magic is often despised.

Divine Magic

Human, Mixed VS Mixed Blood

What is a Human, Mixed?

A Human, Mixed is the combination (in any amount) of Human, Benshira, Drykas, Inarta, Svefra, Vantha, and other Human, Mixed. Any other race added into the mix would result in the birth of a Mixed Blood.

What is a Mixed Blood?
A Mixed Blood is any combination of races, where the two parents are not of the same race, and aren't of a human subrace. Several Examples will be listed below.

Akalak + Konti = Akalak OR Konti OR Mixed Blood (Akontak)
Akvatari + Other Humanoid Race = Mixed Blood
Benshira + Any Nonhuman Race = Mixed Blood
Chaktawe + Any Humanoid Race = Mixed Blood
Charoda only breed with Charoda.
Male Dhani + Female Humanoid Race = Mixed Blood
Female Dhani only breed with Male Dhani
Drykas + Any Nonhuman race = Mixed Blood
Ethaefal (Depends on earthbound form)
Eypharian + Any Humanoid Race = Mixed Blood
Ghosts do not reproduce.
Human + Any Nonhuman race = Mixed blood
Inarta + Any Nonhuman race = Mixed blood
Isur + Any Humanoid race = Mixed Blood
Kelvic + Human = Kelvic OR Human
Kelvic + Any Nonhuman race = Mixed Blood
Konti + Akalak = Konti OR Akalak OR Mixed Blood (Akontak)
Jamoura only breed with Jamoura.
Mixed Blood + Any Humanoid race = Mixed Blood
Myrian + Any Humanoid race = Mixed Blood
Nuit does not breed in the typical fashion
Pycon only breed with Pycon.
Svefra + Any Nonhuman race = Mixed Blood
Symenestra Female + Any Humanoid race = Mixed Blood
Vantha + Any Nonhuman race = Mixed Blood

Building a Ledger
A ledger is a way of tracking your Character's money, much like a real life checkbook or online banking statement.

Links!
Money - Lists of Currency and such in Mizahar.
Price List - Prices of all available items.
Price List Addition Request Thread - When an item isn't in the Price List, request it here.

Also keep in mind that once your character has begun posting inside of a city, you must purchase items through the city and it's shops, rather than just shopping from the Price List. Many items aren't available in certain areas. Once your character has passed 50 Posts, you can no longer purchase items from the Item List.

Seasonal Expenses and Wages
In Mizahar, most people will have a way of earning money, in order to maintain their way of life. This can be anything from a blacksmith, to a hunter, to a priest, depending on the area. Now in order to earn seasonal wages, you need to first gain employment from the Storyteller in charge of the area your PC will be working in. This could be going through an employment office, or simply sending a Private Message to that Storyteller. After you have gained your employment, the ST will give you an amount of threads you need to do in a season to earn your Salary for that season. Most often this is 2-3 threads. You earn your salary at the end of the season by contacting your ST and showing the threads where your PC was working. They will then reward you with your salary for the season. For example, if you were approved to work as a Gemcutter for 9gm a day, and you have to complete 3 work threads. So, you knock out the 3 work threads for Spring, and you send your ST a message with links to the threads. They will deem you are worthy of the seasonal pay and approve you of receiving 819gm for the season.

However, with living also comes Seasonal Expenses. These would include things like meals, entertainment, general everyday things that you would do to stay alive. Seasonal expenses are based on your quality of living. For example, a Beggar would pay less seasonal expenses then a well known merchant. It is often best to contact your ST to determine your quality of living, so you know how much to deduct. Here is a link to the standard quality of living models.
