The Walk of the Lost (Open)

It wasn't a very long long walk to the training grounds, mostly empty in fact, not many people go there, most Knights choose to avoid the place because of all the memories of the pain, most squires train no more than they are told. Most of the time th place is near empty. A few squires looked and greeted him as he was passing, Wys waved back.

There were several training combat rings, but only one was empty. Crow hopped over the border and found a seat on it. "So, if you still want to do this, let's see how this goes. Just a few rules before you start, no biting, no scratching, no hair pulling, no eye gauging, and most of all, no killing blows. Are we clear?" He said looking specifically at Aren. "By the way, I never caught your name."

A wide, ear to ear grin was plastered on Aren's face, as he stretched out his arms and his legs a bit, before jumping into the ring.

"My name..." Reaching behind, to the weapon strapped to his back, the Akalak took it in hand. Going near to where Crow was sitting, he plunged the snaith (that's like the staff the blade is on) of the scythe almost a half-foot into the ground of the training ring. The sound it made upon impact was a testament to it's weight, as well as the strength of the blue skinned humanoids.

"...is Aren Anazasz." Taking his place on one side of the ring, Aren warmed up a bit, eagerly awaiting his opponent's entrance.

He walked beside Taith with growing interest. "I have studied medicine as well", he said with a smile, "as well as herbalism but you can count me in as New to it as well". It was interesting meeting another healer, maybe someone he could talk about plants or learn about new ones that he hadn't learned about. He stopped in his thoughts as soon as Crow had stopped indicating to a small pit where Taith and the other Blue man would have their fist fight.

It seemed that the other blue man, who named himself Aren Anazasz, is alot more excited about fighting than Taith was. Aedai rather had spend that time talking about something far better instead of brute competition. Such is sometimes the way of life, he thought to himself.

Taithrosa nodded, "we will defently have to talk more about healing and herbs. First I need to give this poor Akalak someone to practice with before he starts taking things apart." Taith said with a sad shake of his head. He smiled at the youth though. "It is always nice to meet others interested in healing as well."

Taithrosa didn't actually have any weapons so he just stripped off his shirt to allow for easier movement and removed his boots. He looked over at the way to eager Akalak and then walked to were he would have more room. He wouldn't enter a fight with out first warming up his body in preperation for the coming exercises.

He first worked by roating his head on his kneck around and around. He then began to stretch out his shoulders but raising one and bending at the elbow allowing it the forearm to drop down so that the pressure was working the shoulders, he did one after another. He then turned to stretching his legs. First he streched out his right leg and then his left. Once he fel that his body was ready and lossed up he turned back to the other Akalak.

His large body moved gracefully into the ring and looked at the his blue brother his eyebrow raised.

Find out the generation Where Gods began to be?
Or see the grand beginning, Where space did not extend?
Or view the last creation, Where Gods and matter end?

Nor seen the outside curtains, Where nothing has a place.”

Aren was glad to see his opponent was taking the sparring match seriously, because to do otherwise would be to invite injury. He himself was still doing a few warm ups for his legs and shoulders, as well as getting a feel for the size advantage of his opponent. Longer arms and more weight meant that his adversary could hit at a range he couldn't, and that his blows would tend to carry more force. By the same token, it meant that those same blows would probably be slightly slower, and that withdrawing that long arm would take longer.

"Whenever you're ready." After a few more jumps, and a couple shadow punches, Aren gave Taithrosa the nod, acknowledging that he was good to go. His plan of attack was clear and simple, and his defense was even simpler.

While Taithrosa did have longer arms that didn't mean that he wasn't aware of that. He also had some abilites and flexability and speed. He looked at his opponant keeping and eye out for him to see what he would do. Taithrosa personally like to watch his opponant and see what it was that they would be doing in their attack. What they favored and what they didn't.

Taithrosa began the slowlly circling movement so common to physical fighting. It had nothing to do with trying to get behind the opponants back, since one hopped they weren't that stupid or arragent. No it was to keep him loss and on the balls of his feet ready to move as quickly as possible.

Taith held his hands in fist and his arms ready for any incoming attacks. He also kept a focus on his movements. He was ready to move when he saw an incoming attack. He wouldn't make big and broad movements but instead would focus on the simple movements. A quick back step. A small turn here or there. Always watching. True with the small movements if his attacker carried it throught then he could possible hit Taith, but then it would but this youth with in reach of Taith, and he would be able to grab the offending apendage and pull the youth off balances. Either way he was ready for what ever his brother Akalak had prepared.

The Walk of the Lost (Open)

Aren matched his opponent's circling movement with his own. This was the natural start of most fights, especially those between strangers who had never seen what the other was capable of. Here, both combatants sized each other up, looking for openings to exploit. Generally, one would spot a particular angle of attack that looked good to them, and launch their assault.

Aren noticed Taithrosa was keeping himself tight. Because he was larger than Aren, he must have realized that his opponent was probably going to be a little quicker, and so was consciously preventing himself from throwing any long winded blows. It was a smart move. But, seeing this, the smaller Akalak took the first step forward.

Aren stepped lightly towards his adversary, wary of any of those long punches or kicks Taithrosa might be inclined to throw, even with a tight stance. His plan was the ol' bob and weave. He would throw some quick, stinging jabs, then try and dodge his opponent's counter punches. Because he felt he was faster, Aren was confident that he would definitively be able to dodge any big hay-makers or powerful kicks, and that in a jabbing game up close, the slower man generally lost.

The others Akalaks big mistake was the assumption that larger people moved slower. Fat people who had let their body go were defently slower then a skinny person. Taithrosa wasn't fat by any stretch of the imagination, and while tall, with a longer reach, wouldn't ever have been described as slow. The truth fighter was always aware of his body, epesically if he fought unarmed.

Taithrosa watched as the smaller man took the step into his area and came closer. The silver eyes quickly noticed the move and he reacted back in responce to the move. His quickly thrust out his clunched fist. It was a quick controlled move. Taithrosa knew that if he over extended himself then he would leave openings. He though did have a serious benifit in close contact. He now didn't have to extend himself. The other Akalak defently appeared confident that Taith didn't have speed, but the Akalak how believed the body need to be taken care of was far more loss and flexible.

He had fought before and so suspected a bob and weave. So if it occured he wouldn't have been surprised and would have just as quickly pulled his arm back and then begun his own dance of bobing and weaving. Taith wasn't about to let the smaller Akalak get hits off either. Taith moved with a grace as he danced with the weight carefully being shifted from one foot to the other.

"This is a fight, you know... not a dancing contest." Aren, noticing his rival Akalak's movements, shifted strategy. He thought that perhaps it would be better to whittle down the columns, before attacking the body, or head. Once your legs were gone, you were pretty much a sitting target, after all.

As he approached Taithrosa's reach, he began to dish out punishing leg kicks to his opponent's thigh and knee areas; a couple of shots to one leg, then to the other, amidst a few halfhearted jab attempts. There were, of course a few counters to this, such a attempting to grab the opponent's leg mid swing, but Aren was actually hoping his fellow Akalak would be foolish enough to do something like that. In truth, defensive punches were generally the order of the day here, but that would involve commitment to a large attack, as one generally had to swing forward to overcome the difference between arm and leg.

Taith probably wouldn't have had to swing out all that much, because of the length of his arms, but it would likely mean a commitment nonetheless. If this is was to be the case, Aren was prepared... or at least, he hoped he was.

So there Wys was, watching the pair fight whilst he was sitting on the fence of the practice arena. He couldn't quite tell which one did better, the shorter one with the attitude had patience issues; the bigger one was...dancing. Wys subtly palmed his face and rubbed his eyes. Not that he was bored, just a day's work was now starting to take its effects.

"This is a fight, you know... not a dancing contest."

The smaller-yeah, right he's about seven feet tall-Akalak shared Wystern's opinion. But he was the judge, and for all he cared, Taith could just dance away until his opponent is exhausted or dead from laughter. Still, Wys hadn't fought hand-to-hand in a long time, so he carefully used that opportunity to remember the moves the fighters used.

"Hey, if he wants to dance, let him dance. I never said he wasn't allowed to."
