Within this forum lies the best of the best of this talk. Also, within this forum, OOC news from the staff and players can be found. This forum requires all posts to be 'approved' by a Founder before they are displayed. So if you post within, be patient. August's Featured Thread: Pendulum

The Winner from July, Aela, has graciously picked a thread to be the winner for August and created artwork. Without further ado, here's her selection!

I have chosen Pendulum by Aello as thread of the month.

Dreamscapes is one of my favorite forums to browse. The possibilities that it offers are astonishing and I really appreciate when someone can take advantage of that to create something absolutely beautiful and beyond this world. Aello did just that in her thread Pendulum. The first thing that struck me about this thread was the exquisite details that were provided during the setting. I really admire when an author can do a good job of painting the setting for the reader, and the setting for this thread is fantastic. While reading this I closed my eyes several times and felt that I was right there with the PC seeing what she sees. The brilliance of the landscape drew me in immediately.

The beginning of the thread is tranquil and idyllic and lulls you into thinking that this will simply be a beautiful dream for the PC to frolic in. The reader watches a young girl chase the sun and all seems well. As the dream continues we follow Aello to a strange structure that suddenly turns the scene grotesque and bizarre. Once it nears its conclusion it follows that strange pattern dreams have of turning our fantasies into nightmares and shocking us awake covered in sweat. I’ve read this thread several times and each time I finish I find myself looking away quietly for a few moments to process what I’ve read and consider the allegory of time involved.

This beautiful thread does an excellent job of utilizing the surrealism possible in Dreamscapes and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I salute you Aello for this exquisitely written piece.

This PC has the Blight gnosis. As such, you as a player need to be aware of what that consists of. Wrenmae has an invisible aura that amplifies sickness and disease. Wounds may become infected, small sneezes may become coughing, and a slight fever may become more serious. A nuit's body will also break down faster in the presence of the Blight. These effects may not be immediate, but within the few days following your encounter, the symptoms will manifest. Some sooner than others. I cannot control your character, so creativity will be left up to you. Best wishes and stay healthy!

Special shoutout to Fallon for my new CS
