"Hmmm." Gale's hum turned to a groan.

Oh look, he swore on it. Yeah, know he trusts him. What next? Cross his heart hope to die? Gale didn't really believe Rayes but he was curious as to whether it was an actual view or not. After all, he needed some new things to draw and paint.

With a sigh Gale responded," Alright. Better be quick though."

What did he just get himself into?

“Absolutely!” Rayes responded, saluting and lying through his teeth. This would probably take hours, but he wasn’t about to say that.

World’s End Grotto came into view and Ray pulled ahead to saunter in. He didn’t want Gale to change his mind, so he needed to be on alert so he could snatch him and keep his mind occupied with banter so he didn’t think to hard about what he had agreed to.

“Drawing stuff might be good, too,” he said.

Gale had entered the World's End Grotto and didn't hesitate to turn to his room. He heard Rayes as something about drawing but wasn't paying attention and didn't quite understand.

"I beg your pardon?"

Gale moved all the pictures to his right hand, one between each of his fingers, so his dominant hand could open the door when he got there.

“I said it might be good to get some drawing supplies,” Rayes repeated. “I think you’d like to try drawing this.”

He found a chair in the lobby and plopped himself into it to wait. A few passerby gave him cautious looks and he sighed. He needed to find somewhere else to live. World’s End Grotto was nice if you were a nice person, and a nice person Rayes was not. He made sure to look like a not-nice person, and it seemed to be backfiring here since the place was mostly filled with middle-class people with enough money to feel like they had a right to stick their noses up at him.

Fools. I probably have more money stashed away than they ever have. That may or may not have been true, because though his pockets were usually empty he had swiped a good sized nest egg before coming to Zeltiva, but since it was so large he had a difficult time spending it. He wanted to add more than subtract.

Damn, maybe I should get a job…

Gale raised an eyebrow at the man but went down the hall and out of sight.

What was he doing? Why was he trusting this man? He still didn't know this brawler's name and yet he was allowing him to take him somewhere. Who knows where that is and who knows what he plans on doing to Gale. Push him off the docks didn't seem like a very misplaced though. After all, it seems he enjoys pushing people around quite a bit. He supposed that he had to go with him since he said he would. He seemed a little too excited about this which made Gale nervous. It's not like he can get rid of him anyway. He could lock himself in his room perhaps? No, he would more then likely pound the door down till he grabbed Gale's attention again. Not sure how true that would be though.

Going into the simple room, Gale decided to make this quick. The faster he went wherever the brawler took him the faster he could leave and hopefully never see him again. Setting his portraits neatly on his bed, he went over to his small desk and placed the money in the drawer with the other half of his stash. He kept the other half hidden in a more secure area then this half so if one should find the mizas in his desk after letting themselves in, then he wouldn't be bankrupt.

Gale muttered incoherently to himself about all his thoughts on this. It not being a good idea, he should just ditch him, he's going to get hurt, so on and so forth.

Snatching up his charcoal pencil and an extra sheet of paper. Gale huffed and headed back out to Rayes and looked at him as he sat in a chair.

"We going to go or not? I have things to do."
Gale lied. Gale never really had anything to do beyond drawing twenty-four seven.

As Gale went to his room to retrieve what ever he was going to retrieve, Rayes sank into thought. What kind of job would he be able to do? He was really only good at either hitting people or getting them into his bed, and doing either of those professionally didn’t really appeal to him. What about that thief he’d met? She had seemed healthy and vibrant enough, though he supposed her slightly paranoid expression was the norm for thieves. He might be able to pull that off if he practiced enough.

His thoughts were cut short as Gale returned gruffly.

“Quick,” Ray confirmed. “Got it.”

Of course, his idea of quick differed from other people’s, and he demonstrated this by grabbing Gale’s elbow and hauling him from the Grotto at top speed. Many people tilted their heads, but they were gone before either had a chance to dwell on it.

Gale let out a short gasped when Rayes grabbed his arm and pretty much dragged the poor man out. At least he was being quick about it. He didn't like the contact however. He didn't feel like he had control over the situation, which he had been trying so hard to convince himself that he did, when he was being dragged along by the strong man. And and any normal person who was faced with a situation where they aren't in control, especially if the thought of death or injury lingering in the back of their minds, would feel a bit nervous and...well...Scared.

As Gale stumbled to keep up so he wouldn't literally be being dragged along, he had many ideas as to where they were going to go. Although, the docks did seem to be a favorable thought of his.

Ray cast a glance back over his shoulder.

“Come on, Bloodeye, I thought you wanted to be fast!”

He turned to look back at where he was going in time to avoid colliding with a broken down cart, and his eye soon caught on a house that had collapsed in the djed storm and had yet to be rebuilt. Exactly what he was looking for.

“This way!” he said, releasing Gale’s arm and diving into the alleyway next to the house. One wall had fallen completely into a nice pile of rubble, and in one, two, three leaps he was at the remains of the second floor. From here the gap to the roof of the next complete house wouldn’t be that difficult, at least if one didn’t mind the gaping drop to the street below.

Ray turned and beckoned with one arm before stepping back to take a running start. In seconds he was stumbling to balance on the other house’s roof, and when both feet were firmly planted he spun around and held out one arm, offering assistance should Gale decide to follow.

"I d-" Gale was about to reply to his comment but when the man jerked to the side to avoid a cart it lurched Gale as well, making him grunt which cut him off.

When Ray finally decided to let Gale go and ran to a house that had been effected by the storms, Gale raised an eyebrow. What was he doing? His question was answered when he climbed the rumble that used to be a wall and then beckoned him to follow. He was taking him to the roofs? Sure enough, Rayes jumped to the next building and then offered a hand of assistance.

Gale attempted to keep but by running up the pile as well but slipped slightly, slowing him down, the smaller pieces that slipped from under him tumbled to the bottom of the pile. Making it to the second story, Gale was about to just jump across to meet up with the blonde but skidded to a stop just before he met the edge, spinning his arms to try and gain his balance as he backed up.

That was a large gap. He nearly took his own life by jumping off a ledge similar to this one. If it weren't for the quirky animator Tock, Gale wouldn't be the man he was today. He would be a corpse buried somewhere. But after the almost death encounter, he had grown a fear for jumping across gaps.

Gale looked at Rayes with concern mixed with fear. He knew it wasn't long of a jump but he wasn't the best jumper. And even if Rayes was there, who says he was going to catch him if he failed to make it across or falls back? He still didn't really trust him after all.

He was hesitating, looking at the gap with wide-eyed fear. Well, that was interesting. Was he scared of heights? No, he wasn’t looking at the ground, he was looking at the gap itself. He was scared of gaps? Was it a memory?

Rayes backed up, took a running start and cleared the gap again, skidding to a stop to avoid crashing into Gale and sending them both falling to the first floor.

“You scared of heights?”
