Clyde listened as she spoke of having considered moving away from here. To somewhere not in Syliras. He certainly could not blame her. But really, he was starting to be a bit surprised at the level of dissent he was feeling here, at the number of people unhappy with their lot in Syliras, and its imposing rules and order.
Surely a good bit of what he was here for, what to try and corrupt people's views of Syliras, and its knights, and perhaps even convince them to leave, maybe even heading to Ravok.
But perhaps this woman would be another of these such people, he could take along with him when he did go, and show the wonders of the outside world and its pleasantries.
Clyde grinned as she asked were he was from, and what it was like. He honestly was still suspicious of this woman, and could not really afford to tell her to much, certainly could not risk telling her he was of Ravok, should she be a spy, or to go out and rat him out to the knights.
"I am from up north further. A very nice place. Beautiful views, pleasant environment, and good people. And it is as different from Syliras, as is possible to be. It certainly does not have all of these nonsensical rules and regulations encroaching people, trying to enslave them as easily as chains, in all but deed, like here. People are a lot freer there, and not so stuffy. Not to mention the open clean air, instead of the enclosed encroaching hallways and stale air of the castle. And they are also looser when it comes to employment, I would think many a career is possible there, that the knights would look down upon, or condemn. The knights can be rather closed minded in that regard."
Clyde looked off in the distance for a moment, recalling Ravok, and for a moment forgetting about Maeva. But soon enough his attention was back, passing on the thought of when he would return to the blessed city.
"When I leave here in a season or two, I will undoubtedly be heading back, perhaps a bit indirectly, but still back."
Clyde just looked back, as she said that she had been hunting, as if that explained everything, about why she was missing clothes. Of course, for a moment it was brought to mind Kyra, who did at times like to hunt in her beast form, and so would need to disrobe... But he tried not to jump to conclusions, he could be to easily wrong. And it was only a option, one of many.
"That my dear, does not answer my question in the least. I asked how you ended up missing clothes, or I assume unclothed. Just saying you were hunting. Well, that leaves a bit of detail out. I think it requires a bit more explanation than that, to say how you ended up as such."
Clyde took another look at her, checking once more for weapons, and thought on it for a bit... She had said she was hunting, but had no discernible weapons... Had she simply chased down whatever her prey was unarmed, and apparently nude?
His suspicious she was a kelvic was being strengthened, by his observations, and her statements... Though he would prefer to hear it from her, and have her admit it, rather than having to ask her outright. |
