Falling Arrows (Clyde)

Kyra had watched Clyde making the magical scrolls to wrap around the arrows. She had saw him do this before and as she stood there now, the kelvic tried to remember how he had explained it before as well as putting the knowledge together with what she saw him put on the parchment. Unless she was mistaken, it seemed that the more intricate the design was, the more powerful the effect would be when the arrow was fired. There was also a sort of tell within the design, by which the was an arrow drawn into the scroll so that the user would know which way the magic came out.

Assuming that she was right, or at least on the right path, judging by the design that he had just done it, the magic within would be very powerful once she fired the arrow. It was all just too much fun. Once the fire arrow was completed and Clyde set out for the next one, Kyra looked on for a bit. It was more help to listen while he worked and explained what he was doing, but this time he didn't say much and continued at his work.

Kyra figured that he might explain more later on, but if not she would be just as happy to have the arrows to use as she saw fit. While she waited for Clyde to finish up, she strolled around a bit and looked out at the area around them. It was spacy and the trees were set off and to the back where they were cluttered. The kelvic was excited now, just thinking about the arrows and could not stand still. So instead she removed her dagger and looked around for a target.

First her golden eyes move onto a rabbit that had just appeared, and she wondered if she could be able to hit it. However she knew the chances of that were slim, so instead she decided to focus on a larger target, like a tree. Kyra took aim, holding her arm out and pointing the dagger towards the tree that she wanted to hit. She envisioned the throw, the way the dagger would split the wind and slam into the tree. Once she was ready, she launched the dagger across the level ground and sent it towards the tree.

The dagger came close, and missed the tree by only a few inches. The young kelvic huffed and set off to reclaim her weapon. She returned shortly with the dagger and took aim a second time and threw the dagger at the tree once again. This through was even worse than the one before and landed clear past the tree that she had aimed for. Another sigh, and she was off again to fetch her dagger. By the time she returned, Clyde had finished the first part and was handing off an arrow to Kyra.

She followed him easily, and stepped back and away from the scroll that he had laid out. Nodding to his words, she turned away and covered her ears. It was just as it was the last time and doing this again with him made her happy. Kyra peeked to her side to see what Clyde was doing and purring softly the whole time. The loud boom caused her to jump a bit, and her nose started to twitch when the burned smell wafted passed it. Turning back to face Clyde after he tapped her shoulder, Kyra smiled and clapped her hands together.

"This is wonderful!"

Falling Arrows (Clyde)

Postby Clyde Sullins on April 17th, 2013, 12:39 am

Of course, Kyra's assumptions were faulty, as Clyde would have told her had she asked.

The same spell of Reimancy as went into it, was what came back out. While the Glyphs did hold the magic, and the more powerful the spell, the more powerful the Glyphing was needed to withhold it, this did not mean that better glyphs meant stronger magic coming out.

Instead, the fact of the strength of the fireball and lightning bolt sent in, were what decided this. It also would be a bit more powerful, in that it was focused. The focus glyph the magic entered was large, but the one it came out of was much smaller. This meant the exiting magic would be pinpoint, and would deal much greater damage to were it hit, than if the entire attack had struck. This would make more of a difference in the fireball, as it would be compressed into a stream of flame, a line, instead of the fireball that had gone in. The lightning bolt on the other hand, already more or less had that shape.

Clyde smiled once more at her words, as he rolled up the second scroll, and handed it to her. This one was marked differently, and so would be clearly different from the first scroll, with the fireball. Along wit the arrows he had engraved the glyphs on, she would be able to unleash quite a bit of destructive magic.

"I suppose those will do for now. Perhaps once you have used those, and you tell me how they did, I will make you some more. Just be careful to shoot at something far away, with the lightning bolt. You don't want to be anywhere near it when it goes off. Though with that strong lightning bolt I set into it, it should be able to do some serious damage. Petch, it could even blast a hole through a stone wall, I would gamble, like it was a pile of loose dirt."

Clyde settled for a moment, as he looked about. He had made his structures, and learned a bit more about making things with Reimancy, for defense, even taking some time to meditate. Perhaps one day he could even make some proper walls with practice, and a entire building. But he was not quite there yet, in his skill in construction.

He had practiced his Glyphing, and his triggers within it, coming up with some new ones. He had engraved some arrowheads, another skill he was rough in, but slowly getting better at. Who knew what wondrous things he could someday do by combining engraving and Glyphing, once he got better at the first.

After seeing what he could do, when combining Reimancy and construction, he did not doubt it would be impressive.

"Alright, so I suppose we are done then, with what we came to do. Thank you, for assisting me today. I hope you enjoy the arrows. Use them well, but carefully."

I am actually in RL a super intelligent hamster from Rhode Island, with a 7 year plan to take over the world.

Update 6/2/18- 1:10AM EST: His 7 year plan a success, and several weeks ahead of schedule, Clyde leaves to oversee the world he has taken over.

No new threads after end of Spring 518-Will still be checking for PM's occasionally, but focusing on a new character.

Graders note: :
Please be aware Clyde is a master Magecrafter. He therefore should not be gaining full xp(or possibly shouldn't gain any at all) for simple tasks related to this magic, such as low level MC items, particularly for repetitions of creations he has done before. Feel free to contact me if unsure of a instance of his magic use compared to his skill level.

Kyra took the other scroll and looked it over as she had the first and the arrows as well. She noticed that there was a different and committed it to memory so that she could know which scroll and arrow held what spell. She turned the items in her hand and lightly slipped them into her quiver away from the other normal set that she carried. Kyra turned back to Clyde then, reaching her arms out and hugging his neck.

"Thank you for the magical arrows. I don't receive gifts often...this is very nice."

She smiled again, leaning up to gently kiss his lips before tilting her head as she nuzzled his cheek with her own. The kelvic held him there for a moment, softly purring into his ear as she enjoyed their combined warmth. Kyra had always enjoyed magic in one form or another, but Clyde's was so real and powerful..she was drawn to it.

A moment later, she released the mage and took a step back. The kelvic locked her arms behind her and started to lightly bounced on her heels. Her bold, golden eyes stared brightly into his and a smile graced her full lips.

"This was a lot of fun. I can not wait until we do this again!"

Many thoughts raced through her mind as she stood there, moving earth, fire, lightening. It was extreme as possible, and more so than she had ever seen. It seemed that with the mage, anything was possible, and Kyra could think of a lot of anythings to try out. This time she had simply done what he asked and allowed him to test out his ideas, but the next time she would be sure to get out a few of her own.

"Well..I suppose that is done then. I'm going back to the city, you'll come, won't you?"

She smiled another time and after giving both his hands a tight squeeze, Kyra turned away and headed back to the city.

Falling Arrows (Clyde)

Postby Clyde Sullins on April 17th, 2013, 4:06 pm

Clyde watched as Kyra inspected his work. As she noticed the details that set the scrolls apart, which he had placed upon them. He did not want her mixing them up, after all.

As she slipped the things away, and thanked him for them, he nodded, and smiled.

"No problem. You are certainly worth the effort required to bring them into existence. I cannot say that about many people."

He kissed her in return, and bent a bit low, so that they could meet a bit less awkwardly. That was one downside to there difference in height, though he did not mind having to stoop a bit to meet her embrace of his lips. As she nuzzled against him, cheek to cheek, and purred, he could not help grinning. It was times like this, when her kelvic side was so clearly evident. Especially when she was happy or satisfied, it became all the more obvious.

He looked at her as she finally pulled back, a bit of sadness in his eyes at their immanent parting. It had seemed like so long ago, when they had last been together... And now, who knew when they would meet again, and be together? Times were moving so fast, like Tanroa was purposely speeding it along when they were together.

As Kyra said she was heading back to the city, Clyde let out a sigh unconsciously, as he thought of Syliras... How he could not wait to be gone from it, and no longer be calling it his residence... When he could return to Ravok, one of the few places he had felt at home in his life. He almost did not notice, as Kyra squeezed his hands and turned to walk off, as he was do deep in thought.

Blinking and looking up, to see her leaving, he raced after her at a trot, and quickly caught up. Luckily, she had not gotten to far, during the time he had blanked. He took her hand in his, and gave it a gentle squeeze and a smile, intending to walk back to Syliras hand in hand with her.

"If I have to go back, at least I can do so a bit more enjoyably, thank walking alone."
