Welcome to Wind Reach! This is the OOC Thread for the Winter 512 Season! Wind Reach is the beautiful city of redheads and their giant Eagles. Unmatched by any other, this forum is filled to brimming with opportunities for players and characters alike! Along with a complete City Entry in the wiki, Wind Reach will also include a comprehensive players guide filled with RP tips and pointers for surviving in this challenging environment. Wind Reach is a unique roleplaying environment that is designed to be both challenging on an individual basis and on a group level. The whole of Mt. Winter is coming! Gingers beware! Actually, I lied. It's already here! And you all know what that means. MONEY! (and no more fall threads. So if you haven't made a placeholder for Fall 512, you're so outta luck. Bribe and flattery MIGHT allow you a Grandfathered thread if I am in a good mood) That's right redheads, start submitting your Salary requests to the Grading Thread ASAP so I can just get them all done and over with. No, the threads don't have to be completed and graded to qualify. Yes, there has to be more than 2 posts of any of the PC's involved. No, you don't have to pay taxes if you didn't have 2 job threads and were active during the Fall season (aka, you have more than 2 threads dated anytime Fall 512.) Secondly, I posted a new Character Registry. Please slap your pretty faces in there as soon as you can so we can get a good stock on who is here for this season! Thirdly, if you hadn't already noticed I put up a new OOC thread. I do that every season because I get sick of wading through pages and pages of old stuff. However, this is where the Fall OOC thread was and feel free to copy/paste anything that you posted in the old thread that you find important into this one! Fourthly, I posted the new Calendar for fall along with Thread Goals. PLEASE take a look at it and have fun with what we have provided for you. Hardly anyone ever uses them and this makes me very sad. (The Open Seasonal Event will be posted shortly.) And last but certainly not least please give a huge thanks to your wonderful AS's Sphinx and Invictus. They have been working really hard getting things ready for you and making sure that you all have a brilliant city to play in. Sphinx did an awesome job with the calendar this season and Invictus has an awesome Winter Thread planned for you all!

Oitera is a Chiet and apprentice to Harif. Am I right about that, to be able to get her salary, I need to have two threads where I hunt/talk to him about hunting to learn more about it? Or is it something else that is her work?

I'm not sure I understand the IC event pick a number thing, is that the same as the masquerade or something different?

It's completely different. The Masquerade is hosted by Invictus, not me, and it is a Festival. The IC Event is simply that. It changes every season, just like the Calendar does and it really is just an opportunity to give the players in Wind Reach a chance to have something cool happen without having to thread with a Storyteller.

Thank you everyone who has been so patient waiting for me to reply to threads. I will be getting to them as soon as I've gotten the season change under control. In the mean time, I thought it pertinant to point out that it is now WINTER. It's come to my attention that PC's are treating the season as if it were Summer still. While Wind Reach itself is unnaturally warm all year 'round while INSIDE the city, that's not the same once you leave it. Especially after the first snowfall (marked on the Calendar) there is snow everywhere until spring. Once the first snow storm hits, the city is pretty much blanketed in the stuff, especially the surrounding mountain ranges and the Unforgiving. With the high altitudes and extreme cold, the snow doesn't melt until well into Spring. So please, please remember that if your PC is going outside, just as if you would, they need to be actually wearing clothes, the winter clothes that is provided in the starting package, or they will probably catch cold or die.

Hey! I was taking a look at the Winter Goals and thinking that it would be fun to mentor a Yasi doing their Bendi. I was just wondering if we have any Yasi interested in Glassworking because I would love to become your mentor for a day! And if we don't have any Yasi... well, that's sad, we should.

To my knowledge, I'm the only active Yasi PC. Even then I'll only be a Yasi until spring and I've already had my childlike wonder crushed by the harshness of society . I could do one if you'd like but be warned, Elna isn't to fond of young people in the higher castes, she may be a bit resistant.
