A Woman and a Squire (Fallon)

Shiress glanced back at Fallon with raised eyebrows. Her greeting the red head by name followed by a more than suggestive questioning of Azcadelia motives had caught her off guard. The two had obviously met before and it hadn't gone well.

Fallon's response to her earlier question went unheard as Shiress pondered Fallon's meaning of "unusual and made up tales." This should be interesting. Shiress straightened her back and placed her arms in her lap waiting for Fallon's next response to Azcadelia, but it was Azcadelia's voice that rang out next.

Shiress' eyes darted around upon hearing her name. With a raise of her eyebrow she responded "One would need a man to have man troubles. Would they not?" She flashed a concocted smile to the pretty red head. "No, Im fine Azzy. Thank you for asking." Or at least she was trying to be.

Fallon listened only to the words of the women, not intervening between them or their questions. Nor did she actually turn her gaze to them; she just remained the silent listener to their conversation. She gave a whistle to the cub, her head inclining to one side as a subtle hint of his return. He did not take much convincing, and quickly pounded towards her, his ears perked up and his eyes wide. He paced at her feet for a few moments, until Fallon raised her hand above his head.
“Sit,” she whispered and watched him obey. She gave him a pat on the head, before turning her eyes to the women. Fallon listened to their talk of man troubles, though she kept her thoughts reserved. Men were men, and women were women. Both sides to her were just as bad as the other- or to her at least, she was certain both genders would argue otherwise. Orvin turned his head to Shiress, and then to Azcadelia, before his focus once more fell onto his master, a hint almost that it was her turn to say something. But what? She did not feel it right to delve into the personal life of Shiress, and Azcadelia was a snake that would most likely use anything to wheedle out information.

“So…” Fallon begun before trailing off. She had spoken again without much thought, an attempt to make the potential awkward growing atmosphere disappear, “So… So… nice weather for spring? I mean… for this early on in the season.”
One word. Idiot. She frowned slightly and turned her attention back down to Orvin Well, I’m trying.

Azcadelia

"Yes, a man would be neccessary to have man troubles," Azcadelia chuckled at the little joke, glad to see a smile come to Shiress' face. Even as a snake Azcadelia never liked to see anyone cry, feel down or overall feel like crap about themselves. It was a feeling she knew all too well at the time.

She brought her hand from the bench and rubbed the tips of her fingers together, rubbing off the dust and dirt that accumulated on them from rubbing the bench. As the dust fell to the floor she listened to Fallon's words of Spring. "Yes it is, Fallon," she said turning her attention towards Orvin, she had never gotten a good look at the pup, it was rather cute. "This spring is a bit boring if I do say, nothing much going on this early. Maybe it's just me, not sticking my nose in the right business, ey Fall?" she chuckled again at her joke refering to Fallon and their meeting.

"You're a squire if I remember correctly, right, Fallon?"

Shiress' gaze wandered away from Azcadelia once she addressed Fallon. The seasonal topic on hand wasn't of much interest to the green eyed loner. Her eyes moved the more popular attraction the playful pup at his masters feet.

She couldn't help but to smile as the pup obeyed Fallon and sat. Her arm reached out and scratched the white fur between his ears before retreating back to her lap. "He really is a good little guy." She said more of a statement to herself than anyone.

She watched the pup a chime or two before shifting her eyes back to Azcadelia leaning herself upright again. Her interest in the conversation came again with the change of subject.

Fallon gave a simple shrug to the comment made; her opinion was her own at the end of the day, even with the pointed words of Azcadelia. If the night at the Rearing Stallion was what this woman was getting at, and it was little more than simple ‘business’ to her, then it had ended a long time ago. Fallon made no plans or intentions to aid any more, for this woman was little more than a wild card, a mystery, and those in that grey area that made her tread ever carefully.

“You do remember correctly,” Fallon inclined her head to the woman, before turning her focus once more to the lonely woman. She seemed for a moment out of place in the conversation, and so in an attempt to involve her she leaned down to the cub.
“I’m trying to teach him to shake,” she gave a sigh, followed by a frown “He’s a bit temperamental with it though. And as for good… Well I’m sure others might argue that when he gets hold of something he sees as a new toy. Feel free to pet him though; it helps him get use to people,” she gave a polite smile to Shiress, her eyes briefly meeting hers a confirmation of words, but also other underlying meanings.
If you’re down, feel free to pet him if it makes you feel better, she would of said if it was not a hesitation in the simple act of socializing that grabbed her.

Azcadelia

"Ah squires, knights in training, all strong. Say, do you have training tomorrow? You too, Shiress, do you work tomorrow? If not perhaps we can go out for a stroll outside the city? Perhaps find some excitement, just a girls day, hmm? We can go shopping and such. If you do work," she looked to Fallon, "or train perhaps we could go in the evening?" Azcadelia's proposal was genuine, a rare time to not hear her lie. Truth was she felt alone in this big fortress city and some friends would be nice. She already took an interest in Fallon, her indifference to everything was interesting and Shiress' overall personality was quite fun - or just the little bit that she had seen was.

"What-da-ya-say?" Her eyes studied the two for a some recognition to her question.

Well, this is what Shiress wanted...friendship. A reason not to think, remember. Shiress pondered Azcadelia's invitation. She was in fact not working. Shopping wasn't her thing though, but the companionship would be worth dragging herself through the markets, maybe.

"Yes." Shiress answered before completely thinking out the idea, but the distraction was just what she wanted and needed. She tucked loose hair behind her ear turning her head to look at the red head whose green eyes had already locked on hers.

"Well, I for one would like to." She gave a hesitant smile toward Azcadelia before looking at Fallon hoping that her desperation didn't sound as obvious as it felt

Fallon listened for only a moment, before slowly shaking her head at the request. It was not her being rude, she was simply unsure on how long she would be sucked into the routine of leaning combat. And whilst perhaps the others craved the thought and notion to make friends or some form of companionship, Fallon was different. Contact with others was a funny thing to her, although she herself could say she had a few friendships she always found it difficult to create them. Near constant travel, migrating tens upon thousands of miles on a regular basis, never truly settling down in one place for too long. It made things difficult to say the least.

She exhaled deeply, feeling those eyes lying upon her, already judging her actions and the words that were already coming. Fallon turned her eyes to the pair “I have to decline. My patron demanded my appearance at the training grounds tomorrow, along with her other squire. I believe she plans to test us against each other and see who is the strong one.”
It was far from a lie, and she had no reason to anyway. The patron asked it of her the day before, making it a condition that she had to fulfil. She turned her eyes away and patted the pup firmly on the head, drawing in a deep breath before speaking once more “Still, whatever you choose to do, I hope you enjoy it.”
NoteOOC wise, I do actually have a thread made up where Fallon is training on the 21st, so despite all the begging, Fallon really cannot make the date.

Azcadelia

Azcadelia smiled at Shiress and waited for Fallon's answer quite impatiently. When she did answer the red-heads smile turned to a frown. "Very well Fallon, I do wish you the best of luck in your contest of strengths. It won't be as fun without ya," Azcadelia said, her sadden manner turning cheery at the end of her statement.

Azcadelia thought a moment before speaking again, "We'll go shopping first at the Grand Bazaar then we'll go out for a walk in the wilderness, then we can do whatever you want to do after that, Shiress and by night fall we should be tuckered out and ready to turn in." She smiled at her well thought at plan of adventure, she was anxious on the inside hoping at the opportunity to make an ally, a friend.

"Fallon if you ever do have the time to spend with us I'll be out in the Bazaar or Stallion almost everyday this spring. Also, I might be hanging around the Dyres district a lot more soon, I talked to Ser Erik about that thing and hopefully things might work out in my favor." Azcadelia started to settle down, the exhaustion from the day was getting to her.

Shiress sat silently as Fallon gave her reply guessing that the squire would declined before her words had a chance to.

She listened intently as Azcadelia laid out the plans for there day. Everything sounded fine until the mention of a stroll in the wilderness. Shiress shuttered at the thought hoping that didn't mean a walk through the Bronze Wood. This would only be natural considering it was only one season to the day that Shiress escaped the bronze wood with her life.

Shiress leaned down swiping her hand across the pups snowy fur again. She was actually looking forward to the outing with the woman.

Her eyes cut away from the pup to Azcadelia. She just hoped the red head was as true as she appears.
