A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

Nodding, the mercenary rubbed two fingers together and gave another glance around the room. It was serviceable, certainly, and Vayt was the sort of God that often required above and beyond the usual adherence to his will. Learning his craft should prove a warming experience to the mage, a way to get closer to that arrogant creature.

His god.

His calling.

"I have," he said quickly, "Temporary until I decide whether I will be staying longer, but it is a domain." Smiling, he hefted the backpack across his shoulder, "I can start immediately, but I warn you that when my primary duty arises, I will need to take leave." He'd have said more, but he didn't want to risk growing the lie too much. Such things could be handled slowly, as they were asked. For now, he had a way to learn a bit about one of Vayt's primary purviews, a form of worship he hadn't taken part in.

"The offer stands, however," He said, almost as an afterthought, "I may want some poisons from you, but given that my job won't officially begin till my employer gets here...I'll have to pay only in what I can create or craft...or..." He flashed a grin, "If you have any...obstacles you need removed."

He held out his hand to the poisoner, "My name is Wrenmae, of Alvadas. And you?"

This PC has the Blight gnosis. As such, you as a player need to be aware of what that consists of. Wrenmae has an invisible aura that amplifies sickness and disease. Wounds may become infected, small sneezes may become coughing, and a slight fever may become more serious. A nuit's body will also break down faster in the presence of the Blight. These effects may not be immediate, but within the few days following your encounter, the symptoms will manifest. Some sooner than others. I cannot control your character, so creativity will be left up to you. Best wishes and stay healthy!

A Blight Future (Wrenmae)

'Was this a test?' Subtle or not and seemingly insignificant in nature, it was not to be missed that 'Wrenmae of Alvadas' had already named him as 'Inoadar'. It was the poisoner's nature to think that everything had an alterior motive, so he assumed that the man was testing him to see how observant he was.

"My name you have already gathered, but I am originally from Nyka. I had a falling out there and have found my home here instead." Inoadar did not even know for sure where Alvadas was. His impression was that it was far to the west, across the sea, but he'd never had need to verify this.

Of more immediate focus was the glyphed bird skull he'd been given by the Rising Dawn leader, Ervis, the reimancer that had nearly crushed him in the CEB building before meting the whole thing to bubbling slag. Inoadar now considered how the things he had seen in Wrenmae's bag were mostly comprised of worked bone. Perhaps he could be of use when Marcus contacted him to try to make use of the skull item. It too, had symbols of sorts on it, mostly circular in design.

They needed someone with knowledge of such things to see if it could be wrenched to serve Rhysol, instead of his enemies. He could hardly think for a moment that this representative of the Great Lord would not accept an attempt, but he was clearly a man that was groomed in courtesy, despite his common appearance. Inoadar would not insult the man with assumptions.

"I find your terms and conditions quite acceptable. If I should be out, and your primary employer should have need of you, simply set the chain and the lock on the door when you leave. As for 'obstacles', there are is but one. Not so much an individual, as I can take care of those concerns myself, but I have an item. I see many similarities between it and the items you allowed me to see in your bag. I have a friend, a loyal man of our Lord Rhysol, that is in need of the sort of insight you may be able to provide to understand and possibly reorient the item's purpose. If I may make so bold as to contact you, when he contacts me, I believe we can all gain from the effort. In return, you may avail yourself of what is on my shelves as need dictates, and we can craft and learn together. Does this sound like something you would be interested in?"

I would prefer you called me "Nolan Parnell"...In fact, I insist.

Another puzzle...apparently an item within the bounds of malediction had come to the forefront as a way to nudge his way into the Ravok elite. He bit back the urge to grin and shake Inoadar's hand. As in all things, it was best to moderate responses...only allow what was most important to bleed through.

Cocking his head, as if giving it thought, the bodyguard nodded slowly and shrugged his thin shoulders. "I find this reasonable. Ravok is a place of rather strict protocol, and I think having a member of their faithful owe me a boon for the favor I provide would be only beneficial."

He shot Inoadar a quick smile and turned from the counter, striding to the door in a few easy, quick steps. "I will be in tomorrow morning, bright and early as I can. There we will speak again concerning the specifics of the job you want me to do and you can educate me on what I'll be selling, how much of it is safe to sell, and how to whip up more should the need arise. I'd..." He paused, glancing around the shop, "Prefer to use your own supplies for now, considering my payment will not be arriving till my client, but I would be happy to compensate you once I am able to start lining my purse with mizas."

Hand on the knob, he turned it and pushed the door open, pausing again in the doorway to turn back to Inoadar.

The man had reacted remarkably to his mental manipulation, perhaps too remarkably. Idly, the hypnotist wondered if he had stumbled on another of his own kind, playing him a fool for the rather simple flashes he'd induced earlier. He opened his mouth, almost ready to question him along those lines, shook his head, and smiled.

"Good day, Inoadar. I look forward to learning under your tutelage."

And he stepped out of the shop, and was gone down the cobblestone street.

Yay another fun read ^_^ So, I made up a skill (I think) because I felt you both deserved it, and that it is an important part of social interactions and intrigue but none of the existing skills seem to address it...let me know if it creates any issues.

Also, a friendly and probably unnecessary reminder to please update thine ledgers~

Please don't hesitate to PM me with questions, comments, or concerns! Also, remember to either delete your grade request or edit it as "graded." Cheers :D
