Done with that section, and deciding he would do a summoning from Swalden to get a memosite, he looked over its astral coordinate one more time. 8492841047291777. Then he turned to the last section, the one on how to actually do a summoning. "Now, it is time to actually summon for the first time, to open a gateway to a far off world, and meet a being from another dimension. Or maybe just a piece of unusual grass. I suppose that is up to you." "First things first, you must make the circle. Since this is your first time, likely the best one to use is the minimal circle I previously showed you. Anything more might be to high level for you to operate. It takes but a single drop of blood to activate the completed circle. Simply press the cut against the outer circle, for this a finger is advised to be used. The djed of your blood will activate the circle, allowing it to function, and also via this blood bond link you to the circle and whatever goes through it." There was a few more excerpts, but most of this was simply rehashing of what had been said before. It was time to act. He was about to draw out the gateway circle, when he realized he already had one, from the copy of the circle he had drawn earlier. All he needed to do now was to add the astral coordinates for Swalden, which he quickly did, counterclockwise as the text said. Going into his bag, he took out a dagger, and pricked the print of his index finger using the tip of the blade, watching as a single drop of blood beaded and fell. Clyde quickly brought the finger down, and pressed it to the outer ring of the gateway. As he did, he felt a sudden brushing/tingling across the edge of his aura, which was surely the feeling of the powerful djed of the gateway forcing its way open, linking this space to a specific space far away on another world. There was a flash of light, and then Clyde looked down into the gateway to see... Not paper... It took his eyes a moment to adjust to what he was taking in, but then... He realized he was looking down upon some kind of planet, or something. But then he noticed the glimmer, and realized he was not on the planet, but in its ring, which as the book said was made up of a multitude of gemstones. But what next? Did he just wait until something wandered in? It only now occurred to him he did not know how to call something to the gateway. Or could he? He could not recall exactly, but he did not remember reading anything about it... On the contrary, he vaguely recalled something about not being able to force something to cross, it being up to the creature. But he was in the middle of the ring of gemstones, so surely something would cross. It was as he was thinking of this, that he noticed a specific gemstone moving amongst all of them. Though from this perspective they all seemed to be moving, this one was coming right at him. He looked down into the gateway, which really did look like a window into another realm. It grew closer, and closer, and closer, till it struck the gateway, the small portal he had drawn. But it did not smash into it, it slipped through. It looked like the gateway was a sheet of water, and the memosite was moving through it, to emerge dry out of the other side coming up out of the ground and the glittering space on the other side of the gateway. As it floated out, Clyde could see a silvery string connecting to the memosite, and trailing back inside of the gateway. Its leash? The djed of the gateway also surged once more, and he could feel it brush against his aura again as the powerful aura ensconcing the memosite impacted his own aura, which was also a bright silvery color, just like the leash. |
