Have you heard? "Did you hear who got in a fight?" "Can you believe they said that?!" "I heard they're Dek now." Welcome, Wind Reachers, to the Rumors board. Here, you can find all common rumors that may be heard throughout Wind Reach, anything from Endal promotions to the latest gossip out of Thunderbay. This should be considered an IC thread but does not require typical post-styles. It can be a note about your PC doing something that would have been heard about throughout the city, or about an NPC event (perhaps the neighborhood Dek has gone streaking through the glassworking halls again). Rumors posted here should only be assumed; the level of accuracy is only as much as the original poster is willing to provide. Example: A pair of Chiet from the masonry teams were walking through the Courtyard one morning. They spoke low and fast as they passed others that were indulging in the goods for purchase that Market Day. "I heard that dek she was with stole it after she yelled at him about leaving streaks in her bowls." "That's not what I heard; I was told that she threw it off the Edge and blamed it on him." "And to think, she's up for apprenticeship, too! What a shame...the Valintar must be furious." Remember, all rumors are based on fact but can be interpreted however you want about whoever you want if no name is given and details are limited. Timestamp: Fall 64, 513 (evening)

Lavira and Mohya had returned early from their assignment at The Lookout due to the tremors that day, both somewhat shaken and on edge. A pair of drudges working the halls passed the rider as she walked with one of her superiors, relaying the events at the watch spire overlooking the region.

"The thing looked ready to collapse, ma'am. I'm going to tell the Valintar; it's too dangerous for other riders to risk the location right now. It looked like half the spire fell when the tremors finally stopped anyways."

Word would spread quickly after that, the story embellished in many instances to include things that hadn't happened at all let alone been spoken about. Things like the teenager that had been there had actually been some stupid Yasi playing in the spire between shifts that had fallen, or that some bear had somehow gotten up there and its fat bum had made the stones shift and fall (this was believed by very few). Mostly, however, the rumor stayed true that the girl who had fallen last season and later bonded to one of the birds who had so shunned the Inartans since the Djed Storm inf 512 had gotten out of the Lookout alive, unharmed and reporting severe damages to the mountain.

Rumor began: Fall 21, 513

Two women working in the deep warrens of the city, dusting old vents notice a strange man coming up from a cave that leads to the Under Ground Forest. He is somewhat unassuming though the noble tunic he wears is foreign and slightly frayed at the edges. His eyes are grey and strange as if he was listening or watching for something.

He paused to ask for water, to which they said they had none. But he only smiled and clapped one upon her arm in passing, saying it would be alright and then asked if they could help her find some. The older of the two, the one who had been gently clapped on the arm, turned to follow him when he passed, murmuring something that she would help him find some.

And then, the two were gone into the corridors leading to the rest of the city. Her comrade was left wondering and would tell word to few of the odd man who came from the Forest of giant mushrooms. He was strange and yet...compelling.

The most unusual of this would be that soon after his arrival, the winds seemed to grow more intense, gusting against the city ceaselessly. It was very strange....

Fall 14, 513


Phaurd takes the group into the wilds of the unforgiving to catch the rarely seen Snowshoe leopard. With famine approaching and the number of new hunters joining the ranks, he was surprised that only two showed up. One was a well known hunter in the city, and the other, a fresh faced teen with blonde highlights from beyond the mountain that most didn't know about.

The word is the two got along pretty well during the trip and even got a bit raunchy in the forest at night. Rumors says people shouldn't be surprised to see Kovac take on a new apprentice that he would likely spend more time with. 'hint-hint'.

[Erade]

86th of Summer, 513AV

A group of yasi sat on the ground of the Courtyard in the Sky. The group was made up of boys from both Erade's class and the one under it.

"Did you hear what Pepperade did yesterday?"

"Who is Pepperade?" piped up one of the younger yasi boys. He wasn't familiar with Erade's antics.

"Erade, stupid! Dontcha know anything?" the older boy scolded, smacking the younger one on the head.

"Go on Theth, we want to know." the others encouraged. He seemed proud to be the one to tell the story as if he was Erade's best friend.

"Well you know those two snobby girls, Calide and Karia? Yvesi told Aserde and she told me that Pepperade gave them some of those fiery peppers." They all start to laugh but in between laughs Theth continues, "The stupid girls actually ate them whole and when their mouths were on fire they jumped into that nasty water full of shyke at the Hydroponics Garden."

With hearing that none of them could contain their laughter, tears were beginning to fall from their eyes and stomachs began to cinch. Needless to say they got plenty of odd looks by passersby.

3rd of Winter 513AV

Three avora talked whispering feverishly to one another.

"I heard they're childhood friends. Very close."

"I've never seen two friends be that close! I heard they're together on and off!"

"What could that Endal see in that.. That thing? She's the farthest thing from human. A Symenestra!" The one Avora cringed.

"How could Turrin waste his time with that creature."

"Maybe they are just friends?"

Timestamp: Winter 75, 513 Scraps of leather begin appearing throughout the city with an ominous message written upon the pale interior. None know who posted them nor when they began appearing, but all are aware, as much for the ominous messages upon them as for the strange symbol. We starve... ...You thrive You live And we die. Now it's your turn.

4th of Spring, 514AV After the Endal and the Avora finally squashed the last of the resistance of the chiet and dek uprising, two young chiet took a break after a long day of cleaning up the mess caused by the fighting. Both of these young men fought in the riots, but in the end, the Endal and Avora were to well trained and equipped for the lower castes to win, so the violence stopped, but the horrors and atrocities were still on the minds of the young men and women who fought for a better life. The young man turned to his friend and said softly, “I am not sure if you heard, but the dek clean up crew found something really disturbing deep in the inner warrens.” The young women looked up from her water skin and asked, “Do.. I really want to know?” The young man looked around to see if there were any upper castes around him, and when the they were in the clear, the young man, “They found a dead dek about a hour ago...” The young woman cut him off and said with a laugh, “Really.. I found plenty of dead dek today. Why should another one matter?” “This one had his chest cut open and his heart was missing, I think one of the Avora or Endal ate it.” The woman laughed out loud, stood up, and said with a shake of her head, “I think you are reading to many stories about myrians. I am going back to work...”
