Sei watched in awe as his wild swing connected with Kaie's calf. He was too shocked. He replayed the event, and reminded himself to focus. The Myrian had let her guard down, and he knew that HAD to be the reason. He watched as Kaie's demeanor changed, and shifted his weight after realizing he'd been slowly lowering his arm. If only he coul---

He snapped back to the present when felt an immediate - and seering - pain. His head. Something had hit him in the head. His sword dropped from his hand, and he immediately dropped his shortsword to clutch it. He groaned, and tried to open his eyes. His vision blurred and triple, and he realized what Kaie had done. That hurt like petch.. His head was throbbing, and his vision cleared enough to see Kaie make a wild swing at his shoulder.

He brought up his shield, and grabbed his sword from the ground. He shook his head, and slammed his eyes shut, forcing his vision to stabilize. He looked up at Kaie. "Shyke.." He muttered, walking slowly toward her, and advancing slowly to a charge. He forced the pain in his head to the back of his mind, and made a mad swing at the Myrain.

"Try me!"

Yes! Got him!

The Myrian grinned invisibly beneath her mask of ferociousness, eyes sparkling at the sight of the temporarily disoriented opponent. The dropping of his sword was like calling to the Myrian to attack. She heard the groan, watched the hand come to his head in temporary agony. All while she dashed in with the murderous silver of her gladius.

It was only at last second did he managed to pull himself together in time. His shield came up to block her vicious strike, giving him a precious moment to retrieve his sword. Kaie's weapon rattled off the shield brutally, the shock of metal on metal rushing uncomfortably up her arm again. It was enough to bring the Myrian woman rebounding off him. Away to start from scratch. At least she had sent him a clear message: There will be no pity or softness here.

"How'd that feel?" She grinned mischievously at him, taunting him as he finally advanced again. She toyed with the sword in her hand thoughtfully. This was a learning experience for her, too, fighting a man with legitimate defenses. Planning and pondering her own moves were important.

His short sword swung madly down at her like a diagonal swipe. It behaved much like he was working to cleave right across her torso, just like a sash of metal and blood. The Myrian would not have it. In a last ditch effort to stop that, she thrust her gladius into his blade to stop it, bringing her teeth together in the struggle. From there Kaie tried a wicked back swipe at the area just above his shield. It was if she was aiming to gift him with Lhex's Smile.
