A surreal cavern city inhabited by Symenestra where stones glow and streets are reams of silk. Cocoon like structures hang between stalactites and cascade over limestone flows in organic and eerie arabesques. Without a Symenestra willing to escort you, entrance is impossible.

Timestamp: Day 23, fall, 513 AV
Location: The Cobweb
Purpose: To visit Seivis Kabre.

Seivis seemed to float across thin weaves of silk, as she glided across the Cobweb's stage. The theatre was packed with students and teachers, but the crowd was silent, watching Seivis Kabre gracefully spin across the stage, suspended high in the air by nothing but thin wisps of silk.

Her pale blonde hair trailed lightly behind her, lashing like a silver whip. Her Azure eyes were half closed as she focused on the precise movements of her long arms and legs. She was wearing nothing more than a long sheet of midnight blue silk, wrapped loosely around her breasts and waist, leaving her long slender abdomen exposed. As she gripped a thin white sheet of silk and twirled down, a glint of silver could be seen hanging from her belly button, and a flash of black wrapped around her leg, a tattoo of a thin and beautiful spider web.

This was the first time Viridae had ever seen Seivis dance, and he was thoroughly enjoying the performance. The dance ended with Seivis twirling around a wisp of silk in the center of the theatre, wrapping the tail of her clothing around it in a twirl, hanging upside down from a cord of crimson and white Smokey silken web. She arched her back and smiled, opening her arms, and the crowd burst into applause, several people rising to their feet, nodding their heads in approval.

The lights came up, and Kanasa Curare sat silently, regarding seivis with stern eyes.

"Spiderling Seivis Kabre," She began, looking to a pad of parchment before her. "An excellent performance, surely better than your last. There in lie the problem. If your maximum potential had been achieved, you would not be making so many vast improvements. Your form and technique would be sharp, poised, and perfect, every time. Therefore, I have determined you are not yet ready for the status and rank of weaver."

There were disappointed sighs from the crowd as those who had risen sat back in their seats, shaking their heads. Seivis, on the other hand, Simply smiled and said "Thank you," Before scaling the silk and exiting through a small hole in the ceiling.

Oh sister of mine

Postby Viridae Kabre on October 1st, 2013, 5:28 pm

The theatre cleared out quickly and before long, Viridae was left sitting alone, feet propped up on the chair in front of him. He still wasn't sure if dancing was the trade his sister should have chosen. After all, everyone in their family was a hunter, and her ambitious spark could have gotten her far. On the other hand, Seivis had a firey temper and absolutely no patience. She knew what she wanted, and when she wanted it, and would not have things any other way.

As if to confirm his thoughts, in that moment a rope dropped from the ceiling, and Seivis slid down it quickly, landing heavily on the stage before kicking over heaps of folded silk, muttering curse words under her breath in Symenos. Viridae smiled. It must have killed her to be so polite on stage.

He stood and began to clap his hands, and her head snapped in his direction so fast, it looked as though she was in danger of snapping her neck.

"Shut up," She said almost under her breath, grouchy tones fringing her voice. "I didn't think you were coming."

"What kind of brother would I be if I didn't?" He said smiling, fangs stuccking out eerily from beneath his top lip.

"The same kind you have been for the last three years," She said laughing a little.

Viridae scowled and tilted his head to the side. "Sorry that I have a trade to practice, Bittavis."

"Don't call me that," She said quickly, her brow ruffling in frustration. Her eyes cut holes into Viridae's face.

"Right, Sorry. I've taken the day off, so what is the plan?" He said smiling.

Oh sister of mine

Postby Sosicly Magnolia on October 2nd, 2013, 7:57 pm

Gluttony was a horrible thing to have, especially when it involved punishment yet it never stopped Sosicly from going to see the Ariel dances she would never be able to participate in. But the were wonderful, spinning as if weightless, a blur of hair, silk and flashes of skin. To her they were all always perfect in their acts unless they fell.

This one, Seivis, had not fallen but she had not gone higher either. It seemed a pity considering how many had stood in their seats, even Sosicly had, clapping her hands in delight by the end of the act. Then again, some people thought her silks lovely with Elyna frequently corrected her. The performance over, Sosicly had gathered her things to wait, and leave. She was never one to try and jostle her way through the slow paced crowd; she was amazed some could considering what a slip could do.

But as she waited she noted another waiting and recognized him instantly has her hunter from before. Thinking to catch him at the door, when she turned she was surprised to see him at the stage, along with the dancer from before. Cocking her head to the side she wondered if they were a couple but their features were similar, and the faint conversation told her she was probably wrong.

It was not until she stood a few feet away from the stage that she thought she might be intruding but just pulled out an inkstick and scribbled a note. Then she scuffed her foot on the floor to catch the duos attention, and held out the book. Pleased to see you again, Versda. I truly enjoyed your dance, Krova.

Oh sister of mine

Seivis was the first to see Sosicly approach, she was facing her and Viridae stood between them with his back towards the Symensetra, occupied by his very immature conversation with his sister. Seivis, upon seeing Krova, straightened out and smiled politely, snapping her deep purple eyes away from her brother and skimming over the pad. Viridae tilted his head, and Seivis punched his arm and gave him an agressive frow of her brow before tilting her head to Sosicly.

Viridae smiled upon seeing her, his smile many times more genuine than his sister's and bowed his head slightly before glancing over the note.

"Good afternoon, Sibealy," He said, taking her hand in his for a moment before turning back to his sister, who for some reason beyond his comprehension, always got shy meeting new people. "This is my sister, Bittavis," He said giving a small laugh.

Seivis scowled. "Its Seivis, and thank you, Krova," She said, bowing her head slightly. Viridae chuckled a little and rolled his eyes, but Seivis ignored him. "Viridae did not tell me he knows the Moth queen," she said with another nervous and strained smile. "Sosicly, correct?"

Oh sister of mine

Postby Laute on October 4th, 2013, 3:44 pm

Laute watched with interest the performance before him. They reminded him of the aerial acrobatics he performed as a child with his roost mates. It had been long since he had anyone to play with in the air and he felt a faint pity that these Symenestra were incapable of flight. Still, Scorn was somewhere in this city and a few other Zith. Perhaps one day later he could get them to all to fly with him.

At his side Aditi was leaning forward as she watched, completely enraptured by the performance. A smile crossed her face as she watched, lighting her features, and Laute raised an eyebrow. It was rare to see her so unguarded and excited. Clearly the show in front of him was enough for her to forget her..dislike? Hatred? Annoyance? Whatever she felt for him, it was enough that she was for the most part cold in all of the interactions. Another thing to ask later.

Turning back to the performance, he watched as the Symenestra disappeared from view. It was over, then. Getting up, he was about to leave when he smelled something familiar. He searched his memories for the scent before recognising it. It was the guide. Curious, but not enough to approach, Laute continued to the door.

About to leave, he abruptly stopped when he realized Aditi had left him and started to approach the guide. Strange. She rarely left his side during their travels, and never of her own violation. Curious about his slave's behaviour, he followed her swiftly before recognizing the figure beside the guide. Ah, the dancer. That must be what caught her attention.

Aditi stiffened slightly as she noticed Laute was behind her but didn't stop. Reaching the pair--no, trio now, she softly addressed the dancer. "You were beautiful," she stammered.

Oh sister of mine

Postby Viridae Kabre on October 5th, 2013, 12:28 am

Seivis was a little taken aback by the arival of the girl, dark skin, short, clearly not of the blood, but with a sparkle in her eyes she recognized easily. It was the same sparkle she held as a girl, watching the dancers, longing to join them, to weave stories through intricate movements, to posses beauty belonging to another world. She gave her a warm smile, before speaking softly in common, her accent thick and exotic while still smooth and graceful.

"Thank you very much," she said, bending a bit so as to avoid looking down on the woman. "What is your name?"

Viridae looked to the girl, then back to Laute. He did not agree with slavery, but knew it was a custom of the Zith, and decided against making a comotion. Instead he smirked a bit and clapped Laute firmly on the shoulder, speaking in his own common, his accent just as thick as Seivis' and only slightly less elegant.

"Good to see you again," He said with a slight nod. "This is My sister Seivis, and my friend Sosicly."

He thought it was a little funny how simple the day had started, and how intresting it was becoming. "What brings you to the Cobweb?"

Oh sister of mine

Postby Sosicly Magnolia on October 6th, 2013, 6:07 pm

Sosicly nodded, giving the siblings a wide smile and made to write in her book when she heard the footsteps. Turning Sosicly took a small step towards the other two Symenestra and watch quietly as young woman spoke but her eyes were on the Zith. Viratas they were everywhere, weren’t they?

It is. I overheard you were planning on leaving, she was a bit confused by how comfortable the two seemed. I would not want to interrupt, unless you are opposed to company?

As she turned the book she made her arm include the company as the short hair woman, the Zith and herself. After a moment she moved up onto the stage herself, not wishing to look up any more than she had too. After a short after thought she offered her arm to the human girl and jerked her head slightly to indicate she should step up as well. A little more hesitation and she cocked an eyebrow at the Zith to see if he would come up as well.

Unsure of what she wanted to do Sosicly realized with some surprise that she did not often keep company outside of work unless she had a good reason but there was none here that she could find. Fiddling with her inkstick she wrote again if only to have something to do, Perhaps you could teach me a dance one day, Krova. May I use your name?

Viridae smiled and tilted his head slightly in a bird-like gesture. "Well, I don't mind the company, it would be a pleasure to have you along," He said nodding slightly. "Seivis is the crabby one."

Seivis tilted her head, much like her brother, mouth open a little, before lightly punching his arm and turning to the group. "I do NOT mind a bit, Krova. Its always a treat to meet new people, and I would love to teach you a dance some day." She straightened out and said, "And of course you may use my name," almost as an afterthought.

"Oh please do come along Laute. Can't leave me amongst these women," He said, scrunching his nose at Sosicly and Seivis, before laughing and giving the girl a polite smile. "And this is your day, love." He said turning to Seivis again. "We may do whatever you like. What do you say we visit the Blue grotto?"

Oh sister of mine

Aditi smiled back broadly at the dancer. "Aditi," she responded, and there it was, a lilt in her voice he had never heard before. Then, as the dancer's attentions went elsewhere, Laute watched as Aditi almost faded away. Her bold stature became slightly more reserved, her big smile a small twist of her lips. Whatever fever caught her had all but disappeared now and the calm front he was used to had returned.

Though, it wasn't with the icy cold attitude she used to sport. Bemused, he responded to Viridae's question without thinking. "The dances remind me of home."

Of flight. Of the nights spent tackling each other in the open air.

The third Symenestra was pointing at a book, utterly silent despite the words swirling around her. Curious, he peeked at the clean paper, the ink contents illegible to his eye. Despite speaking Common, he couldn't read it, and he doubted the Symenestra wrote to each other in Common in the first place. This was probably their native tongue.

The writing was small and neat and after staring at it for a few long moments, he gave up. Aditi had followed the third Symenestra and her book up onto the stage, her small head peering down at the paper still. Not that her reading abilities were much better than his.

Laute watched as the two siblings bickered, his eyes clouding over. Laute, I dare you...

But there were no dares, not anymore. His scar ached lightly and instinctively he moved his right hand to cover it. The pain wouldn't fade, not yet. Not ever, it seemed.

"Blue Grotto?" Laute asked, his curiosity piqued. He had not been in Kalinor long enough to have discovered what that was.

Oh sister of mine

Postby Sosicly Magnolia on October 10th, 2013, 7:45 pm

A spike of envy, hot and confusing sat in her stomach for a moment before Sosicly shrugged it away. She and her brother would never act like that and it wasn’t something to worry about, Veladra was an idiot either way. Flashing her companions a smile Sosicly nodded and was about to write an explanation for the Zith when she remembered all the ones she met could not read.

Assuming he could not read she made a swimming gesture with her arms then stopped, unsure of how to explain the rest. After a moment she held out her book to Aditi a question in her eyes. She also wondered at bringing a human, if she was one, to the Grotto. Most did not appreciate any but their own company when there. Can Laute fly you? You not get there on own.

Sosicly then closed the book and hopped off the stage, wincing when she stumbled a bit and a quick pulse of pain told her that was not to be repeated. She waited for the others, looking around the theater carefully. It was strangely large for such a small people. Her gaze drifted towards the student and teacher entrance, remembering the last time she had reluctantly gone through with a frown.
