Cold, bony fingers wrapped around the Warden Knight's. The nuit's half closed as he breathed deeply through his knows. There was a brief moment, a flicker like electricity that passed between the two, but in an instant it was gone completely forgotten. Flannagin held the handshake a tick longer than was strictly necessary, squeezing it firmly with a vigorous shake, "Ah, Ser Josai Trevant. Truly an honor, an unspeakable privilege." He patted the knights hand with his other, giving one last firm shake before releasing.

Clasping his hands together before his chest he chuckled, extending both hands out at his sides in a theatrical manner, "Forgive our sudden arrival. We found ourselves about, traveling here and there and happened upon this glorious city of Peace" the last word was spoken with a sneer as he folded his hands in the sleeves of his robes, "It is peaceful, is it not good knight? In this city, with all its protection, its walls and boundaries?" He chuckled, reaching up a hand to push long fingers through greasy locks, "Forgive me I forget myself in my own banter. You understand, where I am from it is so very difficult to find a good conversation. We come as Ambassadors of Sahova, bearing a message for those in power."

He held up a finger, looking around a moment as if ensuring they were alone before finding Josai's eyes once more, "This message comes from the Archwizard and the Council of Five themselves. I quote it now, just as it was spoken to me. Listen carefully now, and understand." There was a pause for dramatic affect, "Alahea stirs in its slumber. It will awake once again."

Returning his hands to his sleeves, Flannagin straightened his back, placing upon his dead features the face of the Ambassador he was, "Sahova has come to realize how isolated it has become these last 500 years, and so it extends its hands now to Syliras. It requests negotiations to open trade between our two cities, and to foster friendship between our people. That is what has brought us here, to offer our humble pleads for a new future between our cities." His smile never faltered, "I have been given the power to speak in the name of Sahova here within the city of Syliras, in order to oversee any negotiations which you so graciously allow." He bowed his head respectfully.

Quentin was surprised at the two that stood up, neither really stood out as troublemakers, in fact they were both very attractive. They stood out in the crowd more so than not, although normal mercenaries knew how to spot trouble. Though he could be wrong, he had expected more people to join in, but he guessed he shouldn't expect a lot unless there was killing and treasure involved. Of all the books these low lives could have read, they had to pick the adventure books.

He gave a final look around to see if anyone else would join before he turned and headed for the door, waving the other two to follow him. Once outside Quentin continued to walk, wanting to make sure that no one was just standing around listening to their plans. He waited for the other two to show up, and after looking around, he stopped just before one would enter the docks area and leaned against the wall to speak with them.

"Names Quentin. Nice to meet you both. You anyone special? How about you?" He gestured to them both. "I don't have a lot of time and I'm not interested in mixing it up with the Knights. I want to get to the stables, fine out what's there and..well. We'll go from there." Quentin was about to say more when he heard something..someone was listening. Suddenly he pushed past them and glared into the entrance to the docks. There was a young man there hiding against the back wall. He was dressed in normal clothing and only a small dagger to his name. Once he was spotted the man took off racing down the walkway heading towards the ships. "Catch him! Hurry, don't let him reach the boats!"

The Warden Knight watched the man closely as all did in the room. The eerie feeling hadn't left the room and wasn't going anywhere as long as the Nuits were there. The nuit's odd speech and funny words weren't ignored and more than a few Knights who had been gripping their weapons, tighten that grip just a bit. "This is the city of peace, but any who come here looking for trouble will surely fine it." It wasn't as much a threat as a promise and something that all who enters the city should know.

The Nuit had more strange words to say, talking of Alahea and a point of awakening. The request to negotiation trade and above all friendship was met with a curious glance. But Syliras wasn't against making more connections as long as it wasn't anything nefarious in the works. "Syliras welcomes new friends and company. If you are true in your words then we will be glad to negotiate. What do you offer, and what do you need in return?"

OOCThe guy who was spying is just going to run to the docks and hide behind shipping crates for the moment. It doesn't matter who catches him.

Dead Men Tell No Tales Quest

There were footsteps approaching—fast ones. Noaru’s eyes darted to the left, allowing him to see the silhouette of a person gliding through the darkness. A set of dark-crimson pupils honed in on the strange person’s encroaching presence and figure that was painted by the blackness of the night. Noaru vanishes, leaving the young man, as he passes, unaware of the fact that something was now following and watching him. The situation looked rather odd to Noaru; why was someone out at this time of the night—with a dagger in hand?

A soul, holding a weapon at night, should be standing guard and protecting this peaceful city. Noaru decided to stalk this stranger and while remaining silent and unseen, kept his distance. Noaru waited for this person to stop and take a breath; he wanted exhaustion to overtake the stranger’s body. A tired body and mind was more susceptible to possession and manipulation. Noaru figured he could use the body to gain some form of information; potentially valuable information. The dock was a perfect location…for an ambush! The area was dimly lit and the waves muffled most sounds that would signal an approach.

The dagger wielding assailant ran across the wooden planks and hid behind a dozen shipping crates. Noaru wasn’t far, his gaze never leaving the stranger. The spirit zeroed-in on the man behind the crates, he extends his soulmist and attempts to posses the individual!

Dead Men Tell No Tales

Wren hadn't bothered to introduce himself beyond the simple grunt of his name, "Wren." Quentin wasn't paying them, and it wasn't like they were really putting their lives in danger. Simply following up on the rumor of nuit presence wasn't especially terrifying. So as Wren walked in stride with the rest of them, he kept his thoughts and words closely guarded.

Quentin seemed like a man misplaced. He would be more at home as a sailor on the docks of Zeltiva or even a minor gang leader in Sunberth. The way he held himself spoke volumes for his character...and the way he called to the people of the bar suggested an innate superstition or perhaps well placed fear in what the rumors could represent.

The other, however, held herself like a Knight...all straight-backed and trained. She looked out of place among the usual ruffians that haunted the bar, and for that alone she had earned Wren's suspicion and ire. So he didn't pause to see if his companions were following when the boy ran, he ducked down and ran straight, strafing across the moonlit cobblestone and wood as he narrowed in on the young man.

Diving behind some barrels for cover, the young man momentarily vanished from his sight, prompting the hypnotist to draw his blade and leap onto the crates, standing over where his adversary likely crouched.

What he found instead was the young man grasping at the air, struggling against something as if having some sort of fit. Wren crouched above the boy till he had finished his thrashing, tossing the knife from hand to hand, in plain view of the other two coming up behind him.

"Seems we have a twitchy one," he said to them as they approached, "Collapsed behind these crates and had a seizure of some kind." He turned on Quentin, examining him coldly, "Now that we have him, what was it that you wanted us to do?"

This PC has the Blight gnosis. As such, you as a player need to be aware of what that consists of. Wrenmae has an invisible aura that amplifies sickness and disease. Wounds may become infected, small sneezes may become coughing, and a slight fever may become more serious. A nuit's body will also break down faster in the presence of the Blight. These effects may not be immediate, but within the few days following your encounter, the symptoms will manifest. Some sooner than others. I cannot control your character, so creativity will be left up to you. Best wishes and stay healthy!

Dead Men Tell No Tales

The Ethaefal followed the two men silently, feeling a bit self-conscious. She wasn't sure what she was getting into but a visit to the Stables seemed harmless enough. Hopefully, Stanton was nowhere near the location to spot her. "My name's Sagitta," she offered timidly, looking back and forth between Quentin and Wren. Mentioning her status as a squire was probably unwise, so she merely shrugged in regard to the second question.

For some reason, Sagitta couldn't help studying the man who volunteered before her. Wren. Something about him sparked her curiosity - pulled her even - but she couldn't place a finger on it. Pressing her lips together, the girl looked away.

Quentin suddenly saw a figure she hadn't noticed before. And like a guilty man, he ran from them. Something told her that he was spying on their conversation and she couldn't even guess why. Wasn't the rumor about the mystery widely spread already?

Her reaction came about a second late. Wren took off first, spurring Sagitta into action next. She had no trouble following Wren closely - running was her thing, after all. Her legs swung in a familiar rhythm, thumping loudly against the wooden floor of the docks. She slipped past some cursing passer-bys, keeping her head down at the same time. It didn't take that long until the man leaped behind shipment crates and for Wren to follow closely behind.

The girl peered closely, noticing something odd from the man's convulsing body. Wren was already crouched over him and she could feel Quentin's presence materializing beside her.
