[Anthonius Fighter's Pit] Fish vs Mudball (Ball)

Postby M'Wanii on December 2nd, 2013, 5:51 pm

16th of Winter, 513AV

One could meet the most interesting people at a market. From the most common land dwellers to members of rare races from abroad. They varied in height, weight, shape and colour. Some were quiet, others loud. Some were capable of great thing whilst others, not so much. Anything seemed possible in the Sylirain market to the water-born woman. So it wasn't surprising finding a moving sentient piece of clay that would teach you how to fight at all. No not the tiniest bit strange.

Then again it wasn't exactly all that normal for a Charoda to be on land. Even less common that they wanted to learn how to fight, given the naturally peaceful natural of their race. Out in the water it was swim fast or die young; there were no two ways about it. Stopping to turn around a fight when your opponent would lose interest after a short chase didn't even register as an option. But this wasn't the sea, this was the land and after being pushed around and beat up; M'wanii had decided she had had enough.

Leaning against the stone wall of the Anthonius Fighter's Pit, the Charoda waited. A steady stream of steamy breathes crystallised in the cold winter air in front of her face. Where was the little mud ball? He, well she assumed it was a he, had said the 13th bell so where was he. Rubbing her gloves hands together, M'wanii was grateful for her new clothing. Her normal outfit of a hood, scarf, gloves and robe that she had been using to keep her appearance hidden had done an all right job at keeping her warm in the late Fall. However she would have been freezing in this weather, if not for her new chemise underneath it. The thread-bare water worn tunic, she had previously been wearing daily had been retired to the post of night wear.

Checking the time again, pupil less eyes shot around the pit. It was literally just an area of hard frosty ground, that was commonly used for training. Ruined brick walls encircled the area cutting it off from the rest of Syliras whilst shrivelled up plants lay where they had been trampled in some sort of scuffle between two people. She had heard during the warm end of the seasons the pit had quite the regular gathering, however today it was only her. Where was that talking Clay ball? If he didn't show soon, the amphibian was in the right mind to just head to for the hot springs where there was a nice warm bath with her name all over it.

Ball had watched as the charoda was looking for him, he was here well before the thirteenth bell, but yet he couldn’t recall promising much to anyone lately, been such a busy time in his life lately. Yet the charoda made it and so didn’t the pycon squire. Standing three inches tall he wasn’t entirely shocked she couldn’t see him standing right next to him. And silence was a big advantage. The squire had left Imass outside, guarding the door (sleeping is more like it).

Ball decided he was going to make her wish she paid attention to her whole surroundings, and it was a good lesson to be learned. Balling up a fist he pulled his arm back and paused before reaching max capacity of his elasticity, she wasn’t wearing armour and he wasn’t entirely sure how hard she could take a hit. The pause was enough to dilute his punch as he brought his arm forward first real fast and then quickly slowed it down, killing off the momentum and thus the power behind it.

It was aimed at the location of her body closest to him... Her ankle.

As Ball is getting closer and closer to maxing out Pyken as a skill, I would like to request that in places where Ball is not doing enough to constitute Pyken XP if Pyken technique lores could be issued instead.

Examples of proper XP level for Pyken would be: Ball developing or refining his technique by adding new thing against an actual moving target, not a dummy.

The use of basic skills alone are not enough to accomplish XP at Ball's current level of Pyken.

Thank you.

[Anthonius Fighter's Pit] Fish vs Mudball (Ball)

The little clay ball's punch wasn't softened by the leather of the amphibians boots nor her clothes either, instead it continued on its way smashing into the cartilage ankle of the swimmer. The silence of the pit was shattered as the Charoda yelped in pain and shock. Hopping around one one foot her sense of balance was quickly abandoned her. The woman flailed in the air briefly before gravity caught u with her, sending M'wanii face first into the frozen earth. A few chimes passed before the fallen water dweller could even will herself to move.

Pushing up with her arms, she brought her legs round in front of her. Purple bloomed over the edge of her boot. Gingerly her hand rubbed at it hoping to ease the pain. Something had hit her ankle, hard. Something small and dense. A stone, perhaps? A soft whimper escaped her throat as she brought her ankle closer. This wasn't the first time M'wanii had been injured, the right side of her body held scars to prove such a fact, but bruised cartilage was no laughing matter.

With tears pricking the edge of her eyes and her scarf now laying limply on her shoulders, M'wanii looked around the pit to find who the would be stone thrower was, in the right mind to push the unfortunate into the early winter sea and watch them freeze. It was only then she noticed the Pycon nearby her person and everything click into place. The mud ball punched me. The expression on her face visibly soured. When did he get here anyway? I'm certain he wasn't there a moment ago. Ahhh, petching land dwellers. Couldn't have just said hello, just had to be violent about it.

Glaring down the clay man, which wasn't hard even with the Charoda on her knees, M'wanii managed to ground out a simple, “Hello.” without it sounding to much like a growl. This was followed by a “Was that part of the training...?” which may have been finished with a 'or are you just feeling extra savage today?' if her brain hadn't caught up with her mouth in time. Angry, cold and hurt the amphibian was ready for a fight.

ImageOOCSorry about the short post hehe
Ball decided a response was a waste of oxygen and a lesson was already in process. A nod was all he sacrificed as he flung his full body towards the fish lady once again. The ankle shot was the first of probably many. As the Pycon started to close in the distance, airborne that is.

It didn’t take long though for reality to warp in the small Pycon’s nexus. The clashing of weapons, the screams of pain and agony of being hit... The fish before him took on a different form and meaning. It was the sea monster from Sahova. The screams and weapons clashing were his fellow brother-in-arms attacking the Lagool and perishing under it’s brutal whipping tentacles.

Failure to separate what his mind was telling him and what was reality the Pycon shifted and his inner body corkscrewed, tightening and thus pushing fore force behind attack that just before he landed the built up tension would unleash. The results wouldn’t be very pretty. Luckily the attack was essentially a blind attack, it was completely a random landing attack. A rather simple attack to dodge if M’wanii was willing to do so.

[Anthonius Fighter's Pit] Fish vs Mudball (Ball)

Postby M'Wanii on January 20th, 2014, 3:55 pm

The clay blob in front of her gave a single nod to her question, or at least what she assumed was head moved down then up again. If that bubbling thing thought injuring her was a method of teaching then it had rotten kelp for a brain. Or mostly likely mud as the case was. Her ankle was violently throbbing now, sending spasms of pain up and down her leg. Stupid land dwellers, always so violent. It was around about then that it clued it to her brain that the clay splodge was airborne. Airborne and travelling faster than a shark after blood her way. Oh brilliant. Just blowfish licking Brilliant!

From her sitting position there was not much M'wanii could do to dodge the incoming attack, bar lean backwards. Twisting her body away from the vicious little flying clay man, the attack merely skimmed one of her ear spikes. Watching the small blob crash into the frozen ground, webbed hands instinctively grabbed at her ear. The attack may not have hit her directly but it still hurt. The mud ball was beginning to move again, if she wanted to avoided getting hit she would have to be in a position to dodge. Which meant getting up.

It had suddenly become a race to see who would be ready first. Rolling onto her front, the amphibian used her arms to push herself off the ground, her ankle complaining the entire time. Once upright, her webbed hands began to work quickly, removing her cloak and taking off her bag. Both were gently thrown over to the wall of the pit, leaving her lighter and slightly more on balance. Now what was the little guy going to do next. Her pupilless eyes moved to where the blob had last been, only to find it empty. Oh Shark fins! Where did he go?

Just barely skimming the fish’s ear the pycon found himself flying past her, a redirection of his center of gravity and he landed with a thud on the ground right behind her. Watching as she stood and removed her outer garments the Pycon moved as fast as he could to remain out of her sight. All he saw was the Lagool rearing an ugly tentacle out of the cold waters of the sea and about to bring it down upon the rocking ship’s wooden deck and masts. Nooo! He lunged hard at the Charoda’s knees, from behind he could see the bend of her legs, but his mind registered a bend in two tentacles.

Ball’s body shifted in shape as he lunged, his arms and legs sealed themselves to either each other or his body mass, his head sort of tapered and formed a dull point for a smaller impact head. If the first knee got a solid connect his next attack was going still ever forward, it wasn’t the squire’s doing, it was sheer momentum, granted it was slowed down.

If the first never connected Ball would find himself flying between or past her legs and end up smacking into her personal belongings. If that was the case he would also find himself stunned and sitting up in his normal human-like form.

[Anthonius Fighter's Pit] Fish vs Mudball (Ball)

Postby M'Wanii on January 28th, 2014, 8:42 pm

Still looking for a clay coloured blob at ground level, M'wanii's only pre warning to Ball's attack was a quiet squeltching noise before the whole 3 inch tall pycons body slammed into her knee, send her to greet the cold earth once again. At first she thought the little muddy terror had broken as the pain from her leg spiked. Curled up on the ground, salt tears escaped from under her translucent eyelids. It hurt. It hurt so bad. Breathes hitching, The sea's angry wrath raged back into her blood stream.

Spitting out some harsh words in her mother tongue, the amphibious lady lunged at Ball. Missing the first few time, her clenched fist only hit the frozen hard earth. No. Moving again her arm swiped out at the painful pest, she missed again. With the pycon now out of her reach, the charoda adopted a different tactic. Plucking a small pebble, she flicked it at the Mudball then launched her self forward. Gloved webbed hands finally caught a hold of the little clay man.

“I gotcha!”

Exclaiming childishly and tightening her grip, M'wanii smiled at her small victory. Crying, bruised and covered in dirt, but she had caught him. Still laying on her stomache, the amphibian made to move into a sitting position but the sudden shooting pain from her knee stopped her. Pebbles. She was stuck. Her victory was worth nothing. Bubbles and catfish whiskers. Trying to move again, M'wanii didn't notice her grip on the clay blob slip.

[Anthonius Fighter's Pit] Fish vs Mudball (Ball)

Postby Markus Andres on February 1st, 2014, 10:01 am

"Wysar give me the fortitude to tolerate this nonsense."

The words were a low growl from his lips. Annoyed he passed by dimwitted civilians who did not know how to make room for a knight. Heavily armoured and armed the young unranked knight made his way towards the fighting grounds. Some turned to speak out angrily. A single glance at the armour and the accompanied rank made their tongues tangle up in their mouths. The bastard hung by his left side, its smaller sibling just above, the heater shield hung on his back, he was not in the mood to be trifled with. His head pounded with a headache and he had just finished guard duty at the docks. His messed blonde hair hung freely, it was longer than he liked it to be, but he didn't bother get anything done with it, his face covered with a lightly coloured day old stubbles. He had seen the spectacle from his spot behind some stocky, but low Isur. A lump of clay that Markus knew by the name Ball, who unfortunately just happened to be his squire as well. The other he did not know, some poor denizen of the sea who had bewildered her- he assumed -self up on land.

The moment Ball had attacked, Markus knew the shyke was going to hit the fan. Ball had attacked too fast and too hard against the unarmoured opponent. Bones would break and flesh would be torn if he did not stop them. That squire was laughably small, yet unfathomably dangerous. Hence the sour look on his face and the brutal shoving of slow people. He needed to get down there before a dead fish littered the fighting grounds. He had entered the area because he had seen Ball's dog sleeping outside and he had feared that Ball was getting into a fight inside the arena. He did not trust Ball to be able to control himself and since training with Markus, the little clayman had only gotten deadlier.

He walked briskly into the arena, seeing the fish holding her fins, or whatever they called their limbs, around the squire. First he was glad that she seemed to have some sort of control over the squire, but when she tried to get up and she winced, Markus knew he had been a little too late. He did not feel sorry for the fish, she, still assuming, knew she might risk an injury in this battle. Though the way Ball had immediately gone for a crippling blow made Markus both proud and angry. Proud of his accuracy, angry at the application of his strength.

"STOP. You, release the pycon, Squire Ball, stop this nonsense!" He demanded from the both of them. He kept a couple of feet distance, Ball was as always unreasonable and he had never learnt how to read that lump of clay.

Ball heard the dog’s bark first before he was caught up in the fish lady’s hand. She was squeezing and his nexus rolled in a nauseous state before it triggered a reaction he used in this circumstances. Grabbing hold of the lady’s hand Ball pushed up so that his arm straightened out, this one simple motion popped Ball out of her hand and he now stood on the top of both her hands. A smirk lined his face as he took a step forward, his foot flattening and conforming to her hand as the squire brought his other foot up, knee bending. It was in this raised foot position that Markus called out to them both.

It was too late though, Ball’s body was committed to the motions of combat, and his foot came crashing downward, it was a stomping motion that would direct the full mass of his five pound body down against the joint that pivoted her thumb. The Lagool was the only thing before his nexus saw, but it heard reality. Reality startled the squire and he lost balance, pivoting his body mass towards Ser Pycon, rolling forward his body tumbled off the hand, luckily for M’wanii this means that the stomp was intervened and thusly saved her poor finger. Unfortunately Ball now directed his attention to his patron knight.

Rolling back into a standing position he stared up at the knight and growled, his mind still registered the Lagool but he also registered reality.

“Sh.Ee.Ter.An.” [‘She train.’]

[Anthonius Fighter's Pit] Fish vs Mudball (Ball)

Postby M'Wanii on February 18th, 2014, 8:13 pm

Continuing in her struggle to remove her body from the ground with her newly caught tormentor, the Charoda didn't noticed the knight enter the pitts. She probably wouldn't have noticed his presence at all if not for his loud voice suddenly echoing out over the freezing arena. Looking upwards fast enough to break her neck at the sudden noise, M'wanii's body tensed, tightening her grip on the air where the clay man had been. Dancing Jellyfish! Why is a knight here?

The male land dweller adorned in metal as shiny as water washed rocks stood by the entrance looking unimpressed with the situation. Next him was a small hairy creature with a saddle attatched to it, why it had the saddle attached to it, M'wanii couldn't fathom. But what she could understand at the moment was that she should really be paying more attention to what the unhappy air breather clad in armour was saying. Tuning into the angry common, M'wanii didn't dare move.

“~release the pycon, Squire Ball, stop this nonsense!"

Pycon? Unfamiliar, the word rolled around the Charoda's brain briefly before the more recognisable word following stopped her thought process. Squire. As in a student knight to-be. And, and the mud ball was one!? Sending her shocked glaze down to her clasped fingers, it was only then that the amphibian noted that the 'pycon' had rolled out of her grasp.

Now a few hand width away, facing the air breather, the blob of overly violent clay growled out the poorly pronounced word of 'She train' which put her inability to speak perfect Common to shame. As confused as ever with the fact the mudman was a squire, pupilless eyes moved between the Syliraian duo. Before eventually a quiet
'Are you serious?' in her mother tongue escaped her lips in a dolphin like chatter, followed by a popping chirp like fit of giggles. At least this explained why she was getting beaten up by a being that barely came up to her ankle. Oh dear, she really had been out matched in this fight from the start. Poking at her 'trainer' from her position on the ground, M'wanii commented in a bemused tone.

“Mud pile be Squire? Hmptf. No wonder you be punching bubbles out of me! You be tricky little clay terror, You be tricky.”
