Summer 36th 514 AV, 21st Bell

It'd been a very hot day that the couple had thought best to relax, rather than roam about the city like Ricky has been doing for the past several days. He couldn't quite help the fact that he was antsy to get back home, enough to where he was literally being driven insane at this point. He wanted to hold Martin again, to see Gale and his other friends that were there. Life away from them was hard already and the fact thaf Ricky had to leave didn't help, but soon... oh so very soon; they would finally return home at last. The day in general was a slow one that dragged on with an incredible heat wave, yet with the passing of Syna as she set below the horizon it was finally high time to get out.

There was a place, one place in general that Ricky wanted to visit. Namely because he'd never been anywhere quite like it, thus with the given directions from a few knights they'd set foot just outside the walls to find themselves within the range of the Cobalt Mountains. Where did they go? It took almost a bells worth of time but they finally came across the rumored hotspring that resided here. The Sacred Arch Hotsprings in fact. It was ever so popular with the locals it seemed, yet upon their venture here it was Ricky and Telion's lucky night. Due to the stress of the heat hardly any individuals would think to bath in yet a hot water hole, seeing as how they already endured chances of heat stroke already.

Being kept indoors for too long hasn't helped with his need to get out but it allowed Ricky to have time for things like this later on, a easy relaxing evening where he and his beloved would see hoe it feels to have a warm bath for once. "Face it, you almodt got us lost!"

"Aye Oi did but at least we found it now din't we?" Ricky mused with a smirk towards here, they were both together hand in hand as ricky carried the bag that held their bathing essentials within. It took them only a couple of chimes to get ready, but soon after they'd placed their bag at the waters edge and rested their clothes next to it, Telion was the first to make a shy dip of her toes in the water. "Is it warm?" Ricky said as he leaned forward to look down at the water, Tellion giggled a little as she put her hand on Ricky's back.

"Very. Why don't you'" she then put what strenth she had into a sudden push, "go in first!"

With his balance suddenly sent forward Ricky twisted around in surprise and hollared "Oh shyke!" as he reached out, his hands catching Telion at the wrists as she too became pulled in. She of course screamed a short bit before the sounds of water splashes followed, and with a couple of ticks the two surfaced their heads with laughter shortly afterwards. The water being shallower than Ricky thought he couldn't he reached over and pullrd his wife in closer, the two of them playfully wrestling around a bit as Telion tried to struggle to get away.

The water was warm. Very much warm, in fact it felt just like the day only more... wetter. Either way the two were soon laughing and snuggled up together, as they would both head into the part where kisses exuberantely crossed one another.

Heated Baths

Postby Roderick on August 14th, 2014, 12:23 am

Hunting during the summer was as tedious as it was during the winter. Quite frankly he'd sooner lay down in the shade and sleep through the day than spend one more minute staggering around, on the verge of collapse from the heat. The temptation to just rest under a tree in the middle of the wood had presented itself several times already, but the risk of falling asleep out there was too great. Roderick had followed some deer tracks for the first few hours of the day, making good progress - but never quite enough. Just when he thought he'd found them he realized they'd circled back and started heading the way he'd just come. A whole hour lost for nothing. By the time he'd got as far as Pavi lake the hunter had gotten tired of the whole thing; it was only common sense which kept him from hurling his bow into the water. Instead he sat near the waters edge and looked out onto the opposite side, seeing a couple of deer come out to get some water before withdrawing into the treeline. Piss off then, you buggers.

His belly growled so he tore into some bread he'd brought with him, taking a few chugs from his waterskin to keep from choking. It was as warm and uncomfortable as the heat searing his neck. He consoled himself with the fact that he'd at least been wise enough to leave his leather armor and most of his clothes back in the city - he was sweating enough with just his shirt on. Letting it hang open near the top helped cool him a little and he lay back on one elbow and finished his sparse meal. Roderick pelted the water with some rocks, bouncing them over the surface to see how far they'd go. It was rather far he discovered, and he spent a few chimes working towards getting them to go out further across the lake. Eventually he tired of the childish thing and decided it was time for him to go back to the city - empty handed for the time being.

The earth was dry and the bronze leaves the trees had shed crunched loudly underfoot. Habit led him to avoid them as he jogged, slowing him a bit as he wove his way through clear areas of ground, running in such a heat was very tiring so it was just as well that he took his time. Checking now and again for any landmarks he recognized he did his best to head directly south, in the rough direction of the Sacred Arch Hotsprings. The distance from there to the city was small and he often stopped there to wash some of the dirt from his body before he walked to the gates with his days catch. In this case it was routine which led his feet there and he was planning on heading straight through without stopping when a cool breeze washed over him. Thoroughly enjoying the respite it gave he opened his shirt up completely and leaned his weight against the nearest tree, letting the air run over him. Casually glancing over towards the spring, as though expecting there to be someone there, he was surprised when there actually was. Of all the places they could have gone, they'd chosen the hottest place in the area. Those two seem to be enjoying themselves. They wouldn't be able to see him unless they stood up and climbed out of the pool, but even though he wanted to stay and enjoy the one cool spot of shade he'd found all morning... Watching a couple making love while one was hiding in a bush was never good for first impressions. Although when he looked a little closer he recognized the man - it would be hard not to, since he'd grown up seeing it almost everyday.

Roderick studied the face a few more times to be certain it was him, because he was sure the heat must have been playing tricks with him. He ought to be way back in Zeltiva right now, not here groping a woman in a hotspring. Reaching idly into a pouch on his belt he pulled out a shiny red apple, which he polished on his sleeve as he casually strolled out into the open. The two of them were too engrossed in the act to notice him it seemed - or they didn't care someone was watching them. By now they'd turned away from him and were snuggled up at the edge of the pool, so there was little chance they'd see him anyway. There also wasn't much around which he could crunch under foot, so he was sure they weren't aware of him until he stood right above them, brazenly looking down before loudly saying, "Having fun, ye old bear?" Taking a bite of his apple he looked down at the man and smirked. OOCWould Rod know Telion? Seems like he would 'cause Ricky had known her for years and they'd probably have met at some point, but I'm just making sure.

He thought it hot when they were on the way up here, but boy did this spring not make things much hotter for him and his wife. Ricky's advances led him to gently cup her face when they started to kiss, but of course they had already started to travel elsewhere on her body as she would seem to giggle off and on. He loved that about her. "Somebody's in a mood today." She mumbled between kisses as her hands traveled down his chest and soon after below surface of the water, Ricky couldn't help but make a soft groan a bit afterwards when he felt a soft gentle grasp around his manhood. It made Telion giggle a little more just before she would cast him a teasing smirk, and it followed with a chuckle from Ricky as he went in for the woo just before something came along.

A voice from above surprised the two of them and when the split tick realization that they weren't alone kicked in, the couple both jumped out of their skin momentarily as their attention veered up to the person that stood above them. When they'd retreated back enough to look and see who it was Ricky instinctively wrapped his arms around his wife, to cover her breasts while they both stood to face to see just who it was that surprised them. When they both came to learn that it was a familiar face, one that they hadn't seen in several years in fact, their shock seemed to recede as they both started to laugh before Ricky finally spoke back to their old friend. "Roderick ye ol' bastard, gave us a roi good scare ye did!"

"Hi Rod!" Telion managed to say after laughing hard enough, she definitely had a major blush going on seeing as how her cheeks were the color of roses. Ricky was also blushing but that was due to the fact he was still... well yeah there was something going on below the water that he really didn't want Rod to see. Something Telion was pressed against that ached with a natural craving that wanted to be sated, which is why Telion was all the more amused by the situation to where she laughed pretty hard. "What brings you up here?" Somehow Ricky suspected she meant to add "up" as another way of teasing him about it, as Ricky did his best to hide the fact he was in the buff with but a nervous grin on his face.

"Ain't spyin on us is it? Picked a good time t' do dat mate." He joked with a slight chuckle. "Where've ya been? Haven't seen ya in a while mate." Ricky hoped to the Goddess herself that this conversation would be a little less awkward for him, and if anything that it would help distract him from the fact that his manhood still felt like a knot between his legs.

"Good to see your accent's as thick as ever, old man." He smirked and bowed dramatically for Telion, "It's good to see you again Blondie - and in such fine form!" She flicked her hand out and water sprayed over his legs, "Cheeky brat!" the woman laughed. Roderick laughed too and then promptly let the issue slide, before Ricky decided to climb out of the pool and box him over the ears. "Trying to hunt in this heat was getting to me." He offered by way of explanation, before he took another bite of his apple, "Trust you t' come t' the hottest place in the area." He said. Ricky squirmed every time Telion pressed herself further back against him; Roderick raised an eyebrow but said nothing of it.

"Spying on you? Now why would I ever do that?" He flicked his apple over into his left hand and held the other over his heart, "Just the thought of it is killing me!" He tried to seem like he meant it, but Telion's face as he spoke was too much and he burst out laughing. "Where've I been?" He mumbled around another chunk of apple, "Making some interesting new friends; there's Sei the Kelvic, and Raven, the thieving daughter of a knight." Telion's face mirrored what the hunter's own had probably looked like when he'd learned that tidbit of information. "At one point I met a fella named Matthew, who was a male 'escort' - and then another time I gave a Myrian called Kaie an archery lesson." He winced at the flood of memories that sparked. "On the second day she shot an arrow into a tree - which I happened to be leaning on at the time. Nearly put my eye out... Myrian's don't greet people normally like us, apparently..." He thought a little more on what had happened to him during his stay in the fortress city. There were plenty of moments to choose from - but he'd rather avoid the more embarrassing ones. "I've tried to get back into practicing with my sword - but Sei's a bit of a bastard when it comes to sparring." Telion took that moment to quip, "Don't lie Roddy - we all know how often you play with your sword!" He acted as though she weren't there at all and went on. "And then there was the first time I met Raven. I took her for an animal and nearly put an arrow through her head." The heat was unrelenting and he felt the sweat trickling down his back and over his forehead. "Before you start - she was sneaking around in a bush watching me when it happened." And she'd been quick to show him her displeasure - there was no need for Ricky and Telion to hear about that though.

"At least we didn't try to murder one another when we met again." He mused, "Although she did end up using me as a distraction so she could pinch people's mizas." Ripples spread across the waters surface as the naked woman in front of him shifted herself. "You find trouble wherever you go, don't you, Rod?" She said, amused. "People just can't seem to handle my roguish charms." He took a final bite of his apple and then tossed it casually over his shoulder. "But anyway - as to what I've been doing - mostly trying to make ends meet. I've been doing work as a hunter - which is fine, mostly - except for when I'm almost horribly killed by wild animals..." His brow knotted and he grimaced at the thought of everything failure he'd experienced within the woods. The more he thought about it the more irritated he became, "I'll regale you with the story of Sei the tiger chasing me around the Bronze Woods some other time. What've you done while I've been away, Rick? How's Zeltiva been doing?"

Heated Baths

Roderick's remark had been met with Telion splashing some of the hot water up his way which only brought good mirth out of the couple, the sudden unexpected encounter with an old friend rather amused Ricky even though he honestly felt it at an odd time. That's one of Roderick's greatest perks it seems, the knack for encountering things at the right time. Things that probably shouldn't be seen by the eyes of youth, but of course Roderick wasn't exactly the same young boy Ricky once knew now was he. Trust me, He thought in secret, dis place ain't de only t'ing feelin' hot roi now. Telion of course had given him a look when he remarked on spying, as if she knew him better than he let on.

Of course she'd always been like that even with Ricky, always expecting more out of any boy or man she knew. Its one of the qualities he enjoyed about her, as it never made spending time together dull. As he shared everything that he'd experienced over time though the couple couldn't help but admit Roderick had his share of endeavors as well it seems, though he mainly shared just the simple yet eventful encounters he had with certain people of interest. Then of course there was the mention of swordplay, which Telion couldn't refuse the chance to tease him about. The remark brought a laugh out of Ricky, all while Roderick pretended he didn't hear a thing. All in all the things he told revealed one easy thing that Ricky knew hadn't changed, and that was the fact Roderick was still a impish bastard just like the old days in Zeltiva. This brought him to grin.

Although the humor of the conversation led to the reflection upon Ricky and what he's been doing and how Zeltiva's been altogether shortly followed, Ricky couldn't help the fact he still had the trouble of a throbbing manhood that sort of distracted him, he cursed the graceful timing Roderick had and the fact having Telion so close in the nude didn't help either. "Oh not much, Oi joined de Wave Guard a couple o' years back an' 'ave got married t' Tel 'ere. We 'ad our first boy born near de end o' autumn last year." Telion smirked as Ricky proceeded to pull her around to where his back was turned to Roderick, so that he could shield her from the boy's view while they continued to talk. "As fer Zeltiva, she's been under hard times off an' on. First we got hit by a plague, t'en de Denvali settled in an' staged a coup not long after, an' just before Tel and Oi had t' leave an' come t' Syliras we 'ad mages break out o' de asylum." Reflecting upon the recent events that occurred, he couldn't help but wonder if Roderick might've seemed shocked to hear it.

That observation wouldn't be made though until Ricky was at last able to turn around and face the man, while Telion peeked around Ricky's side to watch the conversation further. The fisherman of course made sure to cup his hands over that area down there so there wouldn't be anything for Roderick to see, and thankfully with the distraction at his back Ricky could hopefully keep such a thing covered from sight. "Oi dunno what's goin' on now t'ough, spent almost 'alf a season tryin' t' get over 'ere, now we're tryin' t' git ready fer de long haul back home." He'd almost forgotten to share with Roderick the reason as to why they came in the first place. "Oh yeah, we 'ad t' come 'ere t'ough because Oi got sick wit' somet'in. An illness in me mind only a Priestess o' Rak'keli could heal." He finished with a grin as he still tried to remain modest, Telion giggled a little as she noticed the bashful blush on his face.

One didn't have to be an investigator to know why Ricky squirmed so much every time Telion brushed against him. Roderick had always thought the two would make a good match - had teased them endlessly about it. Now it seemed he'd been right all along and the two, despite the denials frequently flung his way, had done exactly what he'd said they should. "Don't you mean your second? You practically helped raise this smart-mouthed cub, after all." He smirked, "What's your boy's name?" Crouching beside the pools edge he traced a finger over the surface, watching his reflection as it became distorted, "And the wave guard too? Tell me, Rick, are you using your sword properly now, or do you still flail it around like a club?" Telion let out a snort and hid her face behind her hand. "If he decides to get out of here and hit you, I won't stop him, you know." The young man feigned hurt "How could you stand there and let your man clobber me into the dirt, Tel? He'll ruin my pretty face - and you know that's my only asset." He became serious at the mention of plague - not something one could joke about lightly. News spread slowly in Mizahar, because the only way to know what was happening in the other cities was if someone made the journey through the wilds. That alone could take the better part of a season, not counting time lost going in the wrong direction, traversing difficult terrain or being slowed by the weather; and even the best-equipped caravans fell prey to bandits and other vultures. "Well... shit. I'd heard things were bad but..." He stood and walked a few paces from them, back turned as his chest tightened and his mouth became dry. "My ah... my lot are fine, right?"

He forgot to breath. Telion gently spoke, "They're fine, Rod." he trembled slightly as his lungs started working again."Good. I'd've been pissed if the old man'd died on me." Walking back to them he smiled for them, failed at seeming at ease, but that tremor in his voice gave him away. He fiddled with the pommel of his father's dagger absently and fell into silence momentarily. "If you see them again..." he began at last "...tell them I'm sorry for charging off the way I did. That wasn't the way I wanted it to go." Telion seemed about to say something but stopped herself. "People've been saying Vayt might've had a hand in the plague. You think that's true? I mean Zeltiva's hardly the cleanest place - there've been outbreaks a few times."

"Denvali and lunatic mages too..." He looked at Ricky playfully, "I leave you lot alone for a few seasons and you all lose your minds!" At the very least things appeared to have finally calmed down now, so he could rest at ease and not have to worry about what was going on miles away in a different city. "Is it just me..." Telion began "Or have you picked up a Syliran accent?" The hunter found himself blushing and glancing away when she gave him that look of hers. "I know, I bring shame to the good city, forgetting how to speak proper and all." He said, gesturing dramatically with his arms "On the bright side at least people can fucking understand me!" He said it seriously, staring at Ricky, but it was obvious he was on the verge of laughing. At the mention of mental disease he felt the need to be serious, but couldn't help himself. "It's good to see you finally recognizing that you need help. Maybe when she deals with the voices she'll let a smarter one take over." Telion desperately fought back laughter "You're a little shit!" She yelped "It's not funny!" Letting himself be gripped with laughter for a moment he finally sobered and the smile faded from his lips. "What was wrong, mate? You seemed fine last time I saw you." He glanced down towards Ricky's groin and rolled his eyes, reassured by Ricky's smile "For fuck sake mate would you deal with that already! I can't concentrate when you've got your minnow out!" He spun on his heel and made a show of walking away from them, towards the treeline "I'll just leave you two alone for a few chimes. Don't worry I'll know when to come back - I'll follow the sound of Telion complaining about you being done so quickly!" It was all in good fun, but he wasn't sure how he'd react if Ricky actually took him up on the offer.

OOCThe amount of time it's taken for me to finally post here is just downright shameful. I'm genuinely embarrassed I kept you waiting this long.
