Kvist's eyes went wide as he stared at the giant predator. A rumbling sound came from the creature and at first it alarmed the veteran knight. Had he said something that angered the kelvic? But then he realized what he was hearing. She was purring. Like a house cat scratched in the right place. Kvist grinned at the thought that a magnificent predator as her could purr like a common house tabby. It did give him a new view of tigers. At least of this tiger. She had seemed a little distrusting, only understandable, he had acted much the same way. But the level of trust she showed him. Exposing herself in this manner. Kvist trusted that she held no ill will towards him.
Markus' injured leg still protested every time she moved and it was quite painful as she moved across the pebbled surface. But through the pain he still felt her majestic body work under him. The powerful muscles move and shift under the soft fur. She moved slow and gentle, to keep him as comfortable as possible. But with his head burried in her soft fur it mitigated much of the pain he felt from the injured leg. Undoubtedly he was leaving a trail of blood from where he had been sitting as she carried him. He felt the shift of her large feline head as she looked to the side. He raised his head a little and gazed upon the boar. He was a little confused about that for a brief moment. Was she capable of lifting both him and the boar?
It dawned on him a little later as she continued on her path into the unknown. The boar was a hazard out there. Drawing in other predators – and while individually they couldn't challenge a fierce predator as her, undoubtedly a group of lesser hunters could be a serious hazzle. Kvist looked wide eyed as she began to move under the cliff and peeked his head up as she began to lower, to see a narrow hole. Kvist really hoped it was an opening to a larger cave and she wasn't dragging him into a hole. He placed his head against the scruff of her neck and made himself as thin as possible. A good thing he had left his backpack outside, or it would undoubtedly have gotten snagged against the roof of the entrance. Kvist suppressed a pained yelp when they got so low that his leg touched ground and dragged across the stone. He drew in air through the teeth and his body tensed up in response.
He was so distracted by his leg that he didn't notice as the opening gradually opened to a large cave. Very large cave. As he opened his eyes again. His eyes had a hard time to penetrate the shades. Accustomed to a bright sunny day into a darker cavern. It would take time. Peeked around carefully and he let out a little gasp. Spacious cavern. Play between sun and shadows. He saw signs of her humanity. Shelves, a sense of order to it all. The rest was shrouded in either darkness or he didn't notice it as he looked to his damaged leg and cursed his luck. He really wish he could walk around and explore the place on his own legs. Instead of from a distance as the tiger under him carried him to a place she felt was appropriate for her guest. She lowered herself and Kvist got the clue as he took a deep breath and teeth bit together. He contemplated the situation. If he rolled to his right he could rest on the good leg and carefully guide the other leg over. But then he would probably bleed on her and that he wouldn't do. He could handle the pain of rolling the other way. He rolled to the left. Gasped as the pain sped up his leg until he rested upon the meatier thigh than the injured ankle and calf. Right leg swung over her back quickly and landed upon the ground with a sigh of relief.
Kvist turned to the large predator and reached out and before he could stop himself he patted and scratched her behind the ear as if she was a regular housecat. He stopped a tick later and red coloured his cheeks when he realised what he was doing. He cleared his throat.
”Sorry. And thank you.” He said a little flustered. ”Sorry I got your fur wet.” He continued. His clothes very wet from the plunge into the water. But his leg had taken most of his attention thus far, but he was glad that she was willing to take care of him. A stranger. It was good there existed good people in the vicinity of Sunberth. ”Nice place you got here. I honestly feared it was a small hole you were bringing me to. Do you know where you'll stash the boar?” He asked with a small smile on the lips. Hoping to spark her memory of the boar and go and pick it up. But he wasn't overly concerned about his present situation. It was a good dry cave, only had to worry about keeping the owner happy and then finding a way home. Perhaps he could pay her to bring him back to Sunberth. Kvist leant back and rested against the hard ground. The mail he wore was hard already so it was the links he felt more than the ground. He was accustomed to lying on the hard ground.
