Zhol blushed a little as she ruffled his hair, and more when she reminded him of the state he'd been only a bell or so before. He wasn't proud of what his mind had been doing to him, or the way it had made him feel; but the more they talked, and the more they walked, the harder it became to remember the reasons. A little stab resurfaced as she mentioned water and fire, though; Dinah had said something very similar once. As it turned out, it wasn't always true.

Thoughts on his twin, Dru's linguistic query firmly nailed Dinah to the forefront of his mind. See you never, his mind offered darkly, though Zhol tried his hardest to ignore it. "See you soon," he said aloud, trying to ensure that his smile stayed in place without faltering.

The warrens became increasingly familiar as they walked, and soon Zhol found himself at the end of the corridor that led to his room; the other direction led higher up into the mountain, towards the Endal aeries. He hesitated, gripped by indecision; but he wrestled his way past it, turning towards Drusilla and, with a deep breath threw his arms around her in a tight and heartfelt hug.

"Goodnight," he said quietly, speaking into her shoulder; after a beat he added, "Sister." He clung on a few moments longer, just enough to add one last thing.

"And thank you."

Symenestra Venom: I'd like to make a small note about Symenestra venom, which is a common mistake don't worry, but it does not last on non-organic matter. It doesn't have a shelf-life and quickly neutralizes on non-organic objects, such as weapons. This was done of purpose for the exact reason you mentioned, so that no one simply spits on their knife and goes on a killing spree. Your thread is fine as it is, just remember that for next time.
