There had a spark of panic, of complete and total anxiety as she had realized when she had kissed him in the baths had been total impulse and she had been lucky to even have had their lips connect rather than some awkward half planted thing or forehead smack or anything horrific like that. This time though? It had been slow, intentional, and she was elated and terrified and excited and nervous and a million other emotions all at once. And then it had actually happened and everything else faded and all Khara could be aware of was him and her and this one tiny moment that was going to end all too quickly but she willingly would have begged Lhex to let stretch on for the rest of eternity.
She felt her cheeks flush and her world turn dizzy before Khara realized she had been holding her breath, though she guessed she probably would have felt very much the same even if she hadn't been. A few snatched breaths were drawn in, eyes not willing to open as she felt the gentle pressure of his head against hers. Her hand sought out Zhol's, though she ended up with both of hers wrapped gently around the one supported by the sling.
How long they remained there, Khara doubted either of them would be able to recall. There was no noticing that the two of them were caught between the warrens and the doorway to his room, no care for if anyone was passing by, the rest of Wind Reach - the rest of the world - had stopped existing for all she knew.
"Can I stay with you again?" Khara finally managed to ask, her voice barely breaking above a whisper. "N-not forever, just tonight? I've missed being here." She paused again, remembering one of the first phrases she had ever heard Zhol speak in Nari that had actually been clear. She knew he had practiced it at the time but only now did she understand what the full meaning he meant behind it was. It seemed only right that she use it now for the same reasons. "I've missed you."
