"We talk to him," Shakune said. "Or, at least say something."
"Alright," Logan said. "I'll be right behind you."
Logan stayed exactly on her tail as Shakune hobbled to the man. He had let go of his grip that had kept Shakune steady to focus on his main goal. Anything happens, jump in and bust some heads. He repeated this to himself while they stood in front of the bulky target.
He was big, silent, and very intimidating. He noticed Logan only once, but paid great attention to Shakune who did all the talking.
The man accepted Shakune's paper and scribbled something that looked more like a drawing than a signature. Well this guy is obviously illiterate, Logan thought. Maybe the letter will have pictures for him to read.
Shakune thanked the man in a low mummer that made Logan want to chuckle, but he stopped himself. He kept an intimidating look on his face to look tough and also not to offend the apparent testosterone filled men.
With much effort Shakune walked away on her own. Thanks to his medical expertise, Logan could tell that her movements where shrouded in pain. He wanted to do something to help her again, but he had other worries.
As Logan walked slowly behind Shakune, he turned just in time to see the big boss signal his man.
Well... Petch, he thought as he began to quicken his pace. As smooth as he could, Logan would grab Shakune's right hand and place it over his shoulder. He would grab her waste again and force Shakune not to stop walking if she even thought about it. If this would make her fall then he would help her up quickly before she could even hit the ground.
"Gonna have to pick up our pace Ms. Say Something. We got trouble. Don't walk on your leg, just hop. I got you so you won't fall," Logan would say.
Almost running, Logan would turn with Shakune to the next corner, then the next alley way. The alley would be small, but large enough for at least two people to fit side by side.
Logan would stop moving once they made it to the alley and keep Shakune away from the opening but close to him. Logan would be close to the opening, his back to the wall and waiting for the nearest trouble.
"Shh," he would silently say to Shakune and place one finger to his lips so that she would understand.
