■PC Name: Jonathon DuFraine
■Race: Inarta
■Birthday & Age: 20, Spring 490, day 37
■Gender: Male

■Physical Description: Moderately tanned, even skin, with darkish longish red hair. Gold eyes. Features not exactly handsome, but nothing actually unattractive. Light-medium build, stands about 5'5''.

■Character Concept: Jonathon can be a bit aloof and distant, but when he's with people he knows and trusts, or when he speaks of something he has strong opinions about, he can be passionate and emotional. He has in general a strong sense of adventure, but he is also level headed and he knows which adventures to get himself into.

■Character History (Optional But Recommended)
Jonathon was born in Wind Reach, but almost immediately after birth he left. His parents moved to Syliras, and he has lived there ever since. They had grown tired of their lives in Wind Reach, and moved around a bit before settling down, and gave him is more Sylarian name of Jonathon. His father is a scholar, but when his vast stores of knowledge didn't get him any money, he often worked as a shop assistant or other small jobs. Jonathon's father is a quite, scholarly man. Unlike how practical and serious Jonathon and his mother are, he was given to flights of fancy. He seemed to be the only person who could break Jonathon's mother's serious demeanor.

His mother was a hunter, exploring the lands near Syliras and catching meat in hunting parties. She was a crack shot with a bow,, and passed on much of what she knew to her son, as well as the original language of the Inarta, although Common was taught in school or by his father. Jonathon was close to her, and inherited much of her fiercely independent personality. One day, in the spring of 504, her and a group of hunters left on a hunting trip. They never returned. Jonathon never saw her again.

The terrible thing about such a death is the hope; you always believe they will come back to you, but it only makes the grieving harder. Jonathon's father, always a quite and gentle man, eventually broke down over the months. It was left to Jonathon to care for the both of them while living through his own turbulent emotions. After two dark years, which almost brought them to homelessness, Jonathon got a steady job as a shop assistant. Slowly they dealt with their situation.

Jonathon's father slowly came back to life, and became more or less back the way he used to be. Jonathon continued supporting him, and he got a small job too, to bring in more profit. Jonathon stayed with his father, despite being over 18 and ready to leave into the wide world, helping support his father. Eventually, his father got an important job as a tutor; his knowledge on various topics was considered valuable to a rich family, and they wanted him to teach their child. Now, nearing his 21st birthday, Jonathon is ready to pursue a life of his own.

100 Questions

[/center]

General Information :
1. What is your Name? Jonathon DuFraine.
2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name? People who know me well can call me Jon. But I prefer the full name; Jonathon.
3. How old are you? 22, and counting.
4. What is your height? 5' 5'', which is a tad short.
5. What is your weight? Not quite sure, but I'm lean and short, so probably quite slight.

Aesthetics :
1. Describe yourself as you see yourself. I suppose I see myself as determined, but otherwise quite plain. I know who I am; just another man making a life in the woods.
2. Describe yourself as others typically see you. Judging from reactions, I must be quite terrifying to look upon. I am told I always look stern and poker-faced. Unless I have a drink in my hand, that is.
3. What is your favorite body feature? I've always liked my eyes. A gift from my mother; they give myself a piercing look.
4. How physically fit are you? Very. Hiking and hunting in the woods is hard work; I need to be in top fitness. I don't hunt as often as some, though, so a bit below that...
5. How do you typically dress and what is your style? I prefer light, mobile clothing that doesn't rustle, whether while hanging around the Rearing Stallion or out on the hunt.

Family :
1. Who are your parents and what are they like? My mother was much like myself, and taught me about hunting. She possessed a sort of 'regality' that I could never copy, however. My father is a scholar, and quite strange; he was always the only one who could make my mother laugh.
2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? Not one, which I am told is strange for Inarta. I brought it up once, long ago, to my mother. She left without a word.
3. What is your extended family like? I have never met any of them; they all live in Wind Reach.
4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family? I have no close friends... but I consider friends in general to be as important as family.
5. Do you treat animals like family? No. Food, maybe. Although I have come to respect them for what they are.

Location :
1. Where were you born? Wind Reach, but I lived there for only a month or two.
2. Where do you live now? I have lived in Syliras for almost all my life, and live there now.
3. If you could live anywhere in Mizahar where would that be? I don't know what anywhere else is like, but I love Syliras. However, Mother would always tell me stories about Wind Reach...
4. Do you have a favorite place to vacation or spend leisure time? I like to take walks in the forests around Syliras; calming, fun, and a bit dangerous. I also frequent the Rearing Tavern.
5. Where do you fear to be? So long as I have my bow and arrows, I have no fear. But I sometimes have nightmares about being in the woods, alone, weaponless... and also, I have a healthy fear of deep water, but I never go near much deep water anyways.

Traits :
1. Do you have any physical weaknesses (disease, scars, and missing limbs?) I have one scar, but it's small, from an archery accident. On my left knee.
2. Are you right handed or left handed? Right-handed.
3. What languages do you speak? What do you sound like? Do you have an accent? I speak common with Syliran accents, and very well. I know the language of the Inartan, but I haven't spoken it to anyone but my parents.
4. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? I tend to be over-watchful and point out small problems, especially when meeting new people. I therefore tend to put people on edge. This can be solved rather neatly with a mug of ale, helpfully enough.
5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercing? Why do you have them (or will get them) ? I have never desired anything of the sort. What put that idea in your head?

Occupations :
1. What is your occupation? I am an independant hunter, selling and eating my own meat.
2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why? I love my work. I like the thrill, the closeness to nature, the solitude and the companionship alike. It is also the former occupation of my presumedly late mother; it makes me feel close to her spirit.
3. If you could be anything you wanted to, what would you be? I aspire to be a master hunter, like my mother was. Other than that, I would like to take up traveling to other lands; but I doubt I shall do that anytime soon.
4. What occupation do you admire the most? Why? My own, but also I admire the Syliran knights who keep the peace around here.
5. What occupation do you lest like? Why? I don't like occupations that get plenty of money from minimal work. As such, I generally dislike the wealthy, some merchants, politicians, and similar jobs.

Childhood :
1. What sort of child were you?
2. What is your favorite memory from childhood? I remember the best day of my childhood. It was the day I first was introduced into the wide world; that day my father bagan tutoring me, and my mother began to show me her trade. The day shines in my memory like a light; it is my favorite memory of my mother.
3. What is your worst memory from childhood? My worst memory, sadly enough, is drawn over the course of several years. But if I had to pick and choose, it would be the first time I willfully committed an act of stealing, to help support my father. I felt so low that day, I almost could have taken my own life.
4. What sort of relationship did you have with your parents? Years of suffering has brought me and my father into a close relationship; but, to tell you the truth, I don't feel like I can truly trust him. The way he broke down after Mother's death, how I had to run the family and support him, just as a child... It makes me want to sock him sometimes.
5. Who was your most influential rolemodel? My mother. She was always the model hunter; strong, skilled, sneaky, professional. When she began apprenticing me, I always thought we would hunt together, one day, and she would teach me how to become a master hunter like her. That day never came.

Education :
1. What sort of education do you have? It was a combination of public schooling and private tuition from Father and Mother. It was hard work, but I am well-schooled.
2. Do you like/dislike learning? I enjoy it, and embrace it; especially in fields I partake in a lot. Learning out on the hunt is the best way to survive.
3. Where or how did you learn most of your skills/abilities? My mother taught me practically every skill that is actually useful.
4. How do you learn best? I learn at my best when I am in control. So long as I don't feel overwhelmed, I feel good and am adept at taking in new things. I learn new things sluggishly, while I grapple for control, but once I feel competent in something I feel like I can really learn.
5. What are your educational goals for the future? I have more than enough general education for a hunter. However, further tuition and help in the field of hunting, as well as stuff I learn on the hunt, will be needed to help me survive out there by myself.

Relationships :
1. Do you form close bonds with people? Why? Why not? I have little or no friends. I really don't feel confortable trusting people; the only man who I could happily entrust my life is my father, and with his recent actions I may even doubt that. However, I'm starting to feel more and more open around people.
2. Do you trust people easily? If not, why not? Yes and no. After I get my bearings around someone, if I get good vibes, I will allow them to hunt with me and talk with me. Progressing past that point is much harder.
3. Do you consider yourself straight, gay, bi, or something else? I am straight as the arrows I fire... although I have been mistaken as gay more than once. I have no idea why.
4. Have you ever been kissed? If so, describe the first time. Not really, no... I mean, I... There was only one time, the day I visited...
5. Have you ever had sex? If so, describe the first time. ...I regret to say that my first... encounter, was at the Golden Dragon. That was also my first kiss... one of passion from my chosen... escort. Must you ask such questions?

Drugs and Alcohol :
1. Have you ever been drunk? If so, describe your first time. I am regularly drunk, actually, but not often to excess. My first time was the day my father got a job; with his newfound wealth he bought me my first home. That day was a pivotal point in my life; so I got smashed. Literally; I may still have the bruises.
2. Do you like to drink on a regular basis? I often frequent the Rearing Stallion; most times I enjoy a drink as well. I can only really relax with a cold tankard of anything in my hands.
3. What sort of alcohol do you prefer? I haven't had much varieties, but I enjoy the ale served at the Rearing Stallion immensely.
4. Have you ever tried drugs (mood altering substances)? If so, which kinds and what did you think of them? Never. I can't imagine someone messing themselves up like that. Drinking is far enough for me; that wears off in a day or two. But from what I hear, drugs affect you much more long-term.
5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Be specific. Alchohol is a good way to release stress, which I have plenty of. Also, I only really feel relaxed and amicable with alcohol in my veins. But drugs are going too far.

Likes and Dislikes :
1. What are your hobbies? I have yet to find one that really interests me. Hunting is my favorite pass-time, and I like to take long, ambling walks, but nothing really amounting to a hobby.
2. Do you like to read? My love for reading was drilled into me by my father, a scholar. I enjoy reading, but I find more solstice in the wide world than in the worlds of books.
3. What annoys you more than anything else? The one thing that I cannot stand is people who disrespect family, either mine or their own. I place very high respect on family, and I expect others to do the same. When I hear someone grumble about how their wife is so annoying, or their father won't let them do this... It sets my teeth on edge. Why can't those people understand how valuable- and fragile- family is?
4. What do you find the most relaxing activity to do? To unwind, I have many activities to indulge in. I like taking long walks through the forest or the city. Drinking and looking for possible hunting members is also a favorite pass time.
5. What kinds of things embarrass you? Why? I often come off as professional and cold. Whenever I break pattern by acting warm and homely, or especially when I screw up, I feel quite embarrassed. Especially on the hunt; a screw-up there could lead to death. Also, I enjoy talking about more 'socially acceptable' topics; when other converse about sexual conquests and the like, I find myself unable to respond.

Favorites :
1. What is your favorite color or colors? I like purple, oddly enough. Orange and green come in close second. Blue I could take or leave, but red is quite favorable. Black I also enjoy; white and brown, not so much.
2. What is your favorite time of day? I love dusk, that moment when the sun sets and the sky turns dusky and purple. Those moments are treasuries.
3. What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen? Once, while looking for my mother to bring her in from wandering the city before nightfall, I came across her at the city walls. She had climbed on top to watch the sun set, and her framed against the light, a rare smile across her face, is a memory I have cherished for fifteen years.
4. What do you like to eat? What do you hate to eat? I am none too picky, but I greatly prefer meat and more substantial food to fruit, vegetables, and grain. Sweeter things are are a treat, but I try not to overindulge; I need to stay trim and lean to be a good hunter.
5. What is your favorite type of weather? Does any kind scare you? I like the rain, unless I'm hunting. It gives me a feeling of release, of renewal. While hunting, I like a steady, powerful sunlight or a dusky darkness; both gives me the advantage. When hunting, I feel rather nervous in humid, warm, close nights with little light; I feel like I'm suffocating.

Outlook :
1. Are you optimistic or pessimistic? I have some of both worlds. I take things at face value, often evaluating pessimistically. But I know how to be encouraging, and I try to see things on the lighter scale. If I had to choose, I am most definitely pessimistic.
2. What are your religious views? I love and pray for the goddess Caihya of the wilderness; it is by her grace I can hunt in her realms. The other gods I have a respect for, but mostly I just try to avoid ticking them off.
3. Would you be able to kill? Yes, I think so. But only in self-defense; murder I would never consider. But, if attacked by bandits or thieves, I wouldn't hesitate to kill... but you never know until you fall under that situation.
4. What are your views on sex? For the most part, I believe... that, should be kept between those who really, truly care for one another. Marriage or anything is not necessary; just a close empathetic bond. Sex just for the pleasure seems rather indulgent and selfish in my eyes.
5. What, in your opinion, makes a successful life? A successful life is one that is spent bettering oneself. If I were to become a master hunter, respected by others, I would have a successful life. One that stickes to a career and never stops has, in my opinion, a successful life. However, I feel a man's honor and success can be disintegrated if he lives dishonorably, betraying family and destroying other's lives.

Actions :
1. What is the worst and best thing you’ve ever done? Hmm... The best thing I've ever done is also the thing I am most proud of, which I understand you ask later. The worst thing... I once shouted at my father during one of our lowest points. He seemed so spineless back then... I couldn't help it. Also on my list of bad things is my little trip to the Golden Dragon...
2. What is your greatest regret? I don't have one, really. I haven't made a big enough mistake to be considered anything like that... I don't regret anything enough.
3. What is your best/worst memory? My favorite memories all involve my mother. One memory seems so bittersweet, it practically constitutes as my best and worst. The day, the very moment I saw my mother last, before she left Syliras for the Bronze Woods. She gave me a glass pendant that day, and a promise that she would take me out hunting soon... All that lost love and time...
4. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be and why? I wish I had stopped her that day. And even if I could not, I wish I had said something, or come with her, or anything! Things would have been so much better with her around. But it's in the past, now... I have my own life.
5. What are you the most proud of doing in your life? I don't mean to be arrogant, but I feel that the long years I took care of my father while he recovered from Mother's loss was my brightest moment. It would have been so easy to leave him to abject poverty.
On a lighter note, I also feel proud of the time I hunter and slew a giant boar out in the Bronze Woods.

Emotions :
1. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings with others? I rarely divulge how I really feel about things with others; I often don't share things even with my father. My mother usually was the one I opened up too. Generally I just put on a tough face and make the best of it.
2. Do you have any biases or prejudices? It shames me somewhat to note that I am often mistrustful of strange species. I like humans, and how straightforward they are; foreighners always through me off track with much odder personalites and cultures.
3. What makes you happy? I love hunting; so long as I'm out there, I feel alive. That is really all I have now; other things are also enjoyable, but hunting I feel best with.
4. Who or what, if anything, would you die for? Only one thing could warrent me sacrificing myself; to protect family I would do anything. Nowadays, I have such a shattered family perhaps now I would never do such a thing...
5. What makes you angry? Injustice and unfairness. I don't like it when one person deliberately makes life harder than it should be to someone else. There is a clear line between one-up-man-ship and competition and simple bullying and meanness.

Relationships :
1. In general, how do you treat others? In general, I view others with a small dose of respect. However, I often come off as haughty, although when I'm feeling sociable I can be more amicable. Often, I'm like a mirror; I treat others how they treat me.
2. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Right now, sadly enough, my mother is. I think about her so often, and how she would react in this situation or that, about what happened to her. If you mean people who are still alive, only my father could fill that position.
3. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? Once again, I must go with my mother. She was a perfect role-model. Socially, she carried herself with a grace, dignity, and power I have always hoped to achieve. And she was so skilled at hunting... I just wish she wasn't taken so soon.
4. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If not, describe an ideal lover. No, I don't have a spouse or anything... The ideal woman, to me, would be above all compassionate. Most anything else I feel only vaguely or on-the-surface about, but compassion, to me, seems the most important. Compassion breeds understanding, morality, and closeness. Or maybe I just want someone to talk to.
5. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? Every time I go out hunting with a partner, I trust them to protect me and save me from trouble. I can't say I trust my father, and I have few friends, so the only other individual I trust to protect me is my instincts.

Group Situations :
1. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? While I prefer situations diffused, I think lively discussions and even arguments bring out a person's true personality. Plus, it reveals hidden character and strength (or lack thereof), which, when looking for hunting partners, is crucial.
2. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Yes, I believe I do. Not sure if I do a very good job, but I have a more agressive personality and I'm kinda a control freak, so I naturally take that position.
3. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Not with large groups; I feel rather nervous confronting many individuals. Smaller parties, like five or six, I can deal with well, but I am most confortable with one-on-one conversations; they allow deeper emotional and social connections, I think.
4. Do you care what others think of you? Not too much. I always have a stoic shell on, well, a lot of the time, anyways. So long as that is there, I understand how people view me, and how I should view them. Besides that, so long as I'm not viewed as a complete jerk or unmoral man, I don't care much.
5. What do you think of others, in general? I regret to say this, but I tend to only think of myself... I don't often give much thought to others. I have found recently that I degrade or consider others below me. It is a flaw I am trying to iron out.

Self Image :
1. What is your greatest strength as a person? If I had to choose, I have a solid will, a good determination, and patience, essential for hunting. But don't get me wrong; I don't mean to brag or anything like that. Well, maybe a bit...
2. What is your greatest weakness? I sometimes don't think out things enough, yielding to instinct rather than intelligent though. I suppose I could term this my greatest weakness. The way I treat others also ranks up there, I guess.
3. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I wish I could change how secluded I am. I don't have many friends, and my family is now a party of two. It may sound foolish of me... but that's how I feel.
4. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? I am introverted. I always think on the inside, not caring as much for others. I know this because I spend so much time thinking about myself... A bit paradoxical.
5. Are you generally organized or messy? I like everything organized rather than messy, but I won't go to undue lengths to straighten things, and I rarely am annoyed by others' messiness.

Beliefs :
1. What God or Goddess do you find most appealing, if any? Caiyha is my favored goddess. I enjoy living in her realm, so it makes sense to me. And I also have a very important question to ask her... Where is my mother's body?
2. Which God or Goddess do you fear, if any? None. I don't really have much information on the gods, so I wouldn't know which to fear...
3. Do you have any Gnosis Marks? If so, how did you receive them? Not one, but one day I hope Caihya shines upon me such a gift, if I prove useful to her.
4. What lengths would you go to to please your deity? I would go far, I think. I would do a lot to please her; for some reason I just feel so drawn to her. She has so much to offer me, and I hope I can offer her something. Hell, it is by her grace I get so much hunting done without meeting some unfortunate consequences.
5. Where do you draw the line at pleasing your deity? What is too much? I wouldn't die for Caiyha, nor put my family members at risk. I may be willing to commit crimes for my goddess, but I'm not really sure where the line is on that point...

Life & Death :
1. What do you absolutely live for? I don't really understand the question. I live because I'm alive. I don't really live specifically for anything. If my life consisted of just one activity, even hunting, it would be a miserable life. I live, for a lack of a better wording, for myself and my opportunities, and for the lives of my family.
2. What is the best part of life? I don't have a 'best part', I guess I just love my life for what it is. I am Jonathon DuFraine, and this is my life; however it turns out, it will always be mine.
3. What is the best part of death? I have yet to experience it, but I think the best part would be the feeling of closure, of the dropping of responsibility. I no longer would have to worry about my future and my family; they are beyond help. And I would finally, after all these years... meet my mother again.
4. If you could choose, how would you want to die? If I could choose, I would die either a hero or as a legend. I want to know, just before death, that I DID something. I want to, on my deathbed, be surrounded by family, while I close my eyes...
5. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? Beyond being a strong and skilled hunter, and beyond being a moral and upstanding man, even beyond being faithful to Caiyha, I want to be known as a man who never betrayed his family, who always fought for those who needed it.
