OLD [Syliras' OOC Thread] The Calm within the Storm

Hey Yve, welcome to Syliras.

Just a quick update for people. I'm getting more and more requests to do some moderated threads, I definitely want to do them with you, but I'll have to set a limit for certain or risk biting off way more than I can chew. For everyone that's asked me in the past little while, give me a bit to ensure I can continue grading all the threads that get tossed my way in a timely manner, as well as get caught up on some moderated things from way in the past that had been abandoned. As I continue to complete all of the old stuff lying around, I'll tie up those ends and have more ability to start things in our current timeline. Thanks everyone for understanding!

Gonna join in some opens maybe start up my own..but for a bit Xena will be wandering around town so feel free to PM me and ask if she'd end up someplace...We could have her in a bad or good situation, make lots of friends quick...or embarress the poor girl to death within the first few days.. ;p Glad to be here, and i hope to thread with y'all soon.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've got a couple birthdays this weekend I'm attending (2 of my friends have them very close together) so that might be why you don't see me around this weekend as much as normal. It will be business as usual on Monday.

Just a quick update. The wife's computer managed to contract the most annoying virus in the history of mankind. As such her computer is completely shot until I get it fixed tomorrow since I'll have a day off from work. That's probably why ya'll haven't seen much of me. With just one comp and her doing the college thing, she needs it more than I do. Hopefully tomorrow I can get things up and running correctly.

Hey fellow sailors and sailor wanna-be's:

I am starting a three-part story called "The Last Voyage of the Riana Red". I intended to do it as a solo set for training purposes and maybe to make some income (if Trident is feeling particularly generous). But then it occurred to me that there might be others who would like to join for all or part of the journey.

In Part 1 (02-07 Winter starting in Alvadas), the merchant ship Riana Red sails from Alvadas to Syliras. It is a relatively uneventful journey except for a brief chase by a pirate ship. Opportunities to train a variety of skills.

In Part 2 (07-14 Winter starting in Syliras), the merchant ship Riana Red sets sail from Syliras on the return trip to Alvadas. Interactions with some interesting passengers possible. Opportunities to train a variety of skills. A pirate ship is sighted.

In Part 3 (13-18 Winter, return trip from Syliras to Alvadas), two pirate ships attack the Riana Red and in the ensuing fight gain control of the ship. Opportunities to train some skills. Opportunity to get into a fight. Opportunity to figure out how you're going to survive when the pirates kill the crew, kidnap the passengers and sink the Riana Red.

I might throw a storm in there somewhere.

All three stories will be on the Suvan Sea forum. PM me if interested. Or just watch for the threads and jump in wherever you want. Here's the start of the first thread: The Last Voyage of the Riana Red, Part 1 of 3.

Edit: I'm going to start it soon because I want to be able to finish all three threads by the end of the month. This means they will have to move along fairly briskly too.

Ok, Marcus is officially a Squire of the Syliran Knights as of the 30th of Winter! So any other squires, or anyone else who wants to spar or do other squirey things, I am up for threads!
