Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

9th Day of Summer

With staggering steps, Hasoc marched ever closer to the city gates, restraining his sense of elevation to jump and rush right over. He was tired and weak from his rather... unsuccessful hunt of his strider horse, and he want nothing more than to find an inn to sleep in before planning and resupplying.

His pace slowed to a halt as he looked over the bridge and river. It was a pleasant sight, truly, one that almost made him forget about his worries and trials. He really would have to return to Edorr and the others after he claimed his horse, if only to know how they're doing. He would just have to hope for now they can manage without him.

With that, he broke gaze from the river and walked past the gates, with a simple wave gesture to the guards. Hasoc continued on to find a place to sleep for the night.

Sadia rode her velvet black horse, Midnight Moon towards the gates, her gray eyes surveying what stood before her. It was beautiful, and the cool air crisped her cheeks and nose. Behind her on the horse, sat Daniel, her love. She turned around, and looked at him, his black hair rustling int he breeze, brown eyes fixated on hers.
He kissed her cheek. From a distance, they looked like two ghosts, pale as snow.
It all began here, she thought to herself.
Kicking Midnight Moon gently, and exclaiming "Hi-ya!" they galloped forward, towards their new life.
People watched the young man and beautiful Konti as they strode into the city.
The only thing on Sadia's mind was finding a cottage for them to live, and something for all three of them to eat.
Hell, they'd eat anything.

Cugacon nodded in a friendly way to the guards at the imposing gate. With an energetic step, one which did not betray the weariness he might have felt from the physical exertion he had put his body through these last few days, he smiled when the one guard called, “Any luck?”

“Of course. You wouldn’t be seeing me if not.” He replied with a deep chuckle.

The two guards smiled in return. “Good deal. How many?”

Holding up the last three fingers of his right hand, Cugacon said, “Three. That’s all there were, unfortunately.”

The men smirked as Cugacon passed under the wide stone arch. The walls of Riverfall had an air of deadly earnest about them, as did its inhabitants – when it come to any potential foe. As did Cuga, when it came to the Zith. From the edge of the quiver of arrows which was slung over his shoulder, were suspended six fresh, dark, pointed ears.

Close now to his home, Cuga stepped with even more speed, ready to bathe and rid himself of the stench of his prey.

3rd Fall

Eruditus yawned and shook his head in an effort to keep aware. He wasn't just tied, he was exhausted, and his mount was too. "Come on Aron, just a mile or so left" he said, patting the goat on her head. The huge walled gates of the city had been visible for quite a while before the Pycon and his goat had been able to hear or smell the city, but now they were getting close. The smell of inclement weather mixed with that of cooking fires and animals, and Eruditus inhaled deeply, letting the scent fill him up. Though he normally avoided cities this size, he could see he had no choice in the matter. It was early in the season, but he didn't want to be caught in the middle of a blizzard with nothing but a tent. He passed the guards at the gate with no more than a suspicious glance and a question of where the stables were. Just as he was leaving the shelter of the gates, the weather cut loose and both he and his goat were quickly soaked. Hell of an omen he thought with a small chuckle

65th of Autumn

Ronan and Leto finally reached Riverfall, their trek across the Grasses having taken a couple of days. And now the majestic city of the Akalak awaited, and the promise of Sama'el on the horizon.

Feeling both anxious and excited, the pair entered the gates with trepidation.

Winter 56, 511 AV

Blythe stared up at the towers closest to the city gates, placing her hand on her bag's strap and tugging on it lightly, so it rode up the length of her shoulder. "I never pictured it quite like this," she whispered, as she followed the line of stone. Something which still managed to sparkle in the dwindling light of the sun, as it began its descent into darkness, and sank behind the mortally made expanse. She could see, merely, the rounded top of the orb as it fell beneath the tallest tower, giving off an orange glow, which made it appear as though the structure had been cast into flame.

The woman sighed as she cast her gaze ahead of her, and continued onwards, toward the gate. This is where Kariha went to find her love, Blythe's mind whispered. This is where you need to go to find her. To find each of them. This is the place which decides your fate. This is the place where your life will begin again, should you fail, for there will be no going back. Blythe's grip tightened around her bag's strap as she forced herself to keep on going.

It seemed like no time at all had passed before the Konti reached the city gates. She peered at each of the Akalak guards. They seemed so intimidating, being much taller than she. "Welcome to the City of Riverfall. We hope you enjoy your stay," the one on the right said. Blythe merely smiled, her lavender colored eyes sparkling a little. "Thank you, and please try to keep warm," she added, as a strong wind swept through the area, brushing her blonde hair off her shoulders for a moment, before letting it back down when it died out.

The Akalaks nodded. It was only then that Blythe made her way inside the city gates. Only then that she thanked Avalis for allowing her to reach her destination safely. For watching over her.
