Sorceress meets Him(Rayage)

Jules really had done alot in her short fourty years of life. She was a sorceress even though she rarely even thought of using her magic for pointless reasons she knew she had quite alot of knowledge for someone her age. Sitting in a random corner, Jules had her silk white hood over her head. There were some things she had to ponder, did she want to continue learning magic? Did she want to risk overgiving? The young sorceress forced herself to stand up and she lifts her right hand to her head to pull the hood down. Her crystal blue eyes shifts to the right and then left.

Soon Jules is able to spot a figure, a figure who was obviously bigger than her. The Sorceress couldn't see the figure's face but she could only guess that it was a male. And if so why was this figure covering it's face like that. Jules did want to know more about the figure but like her father said, sticking your nose into someone else's business could get you killed in the end. So Jules decided to keep her nose to herself and just continue to watch the figure walk.

Waiting for the figure to get closer, Jules started to inhale and exhale fast. She got afraid whenever something got that close. When something got in range of making contact with her body she tried to avoid it. Jules couldn't fight hand to hand. So if she couldn't fight hand to hand and she didn't ever want to use magic like that how would she defend herself? Blinking she continued to wait for the figure.

Sliding back town to a seated position Jules tried her best to make it look like she wasn't looking or paying any attention to the hooded figure. Her father also told her it was disrespectful to stare, evertime Jules stared at her father he gave her a sharp smack to remind her of his rule. Or advice is what he called it. So some of her dad's rules stuck with her. She did give Jules one good tip, never use magic unless it's an absolute must.

There was nothing like coming back to a place that you have just left. No, nothing like it all. To Ray this experience was quite irritating, but also fascinating. He had to come back, or he found himself wanting to come back. Again, he would explain these trips as ‘field research’ for his Sahovan experiments. Yes, he was a Sahovan mage, quite the wizard and having access to knowledge these humans here could not even dream of. Well, he had access, as long as he asked his superiors.

Again the same sleepy ship that brought him last season brought him back to this very place. It all seemed very particular, all planned, and very orderly. He liked that, and did not think much about what this might entail, only that his gaining access to the ship was easy as the ship captain was becoming ever curious the details of the nuits work. A little hint here and there and a promise to get him a small ‘pet’ was enough for the mage to gain passage. Well that and a touch of hypnotism. Some people were so easily manipulated. It made his day.

His first time here he had noticed that it was quite the rough place. A rough place indeed. He knew that he would not have the luck of running into Antar, the man who saved him last time, again. That was totally a twist of… he shivered as he thought the last word – fate. Keeping H1-A on his shoulder, the Isurian steel plated cloak wrapped around him, and the ancient sword he found in the mines showed rather awkwardly around his belt. He had no problem with showing off his prize, because anyone who would try to take it from him would feel it’s rather rusty bite.

The nuit waded through the crowds, the people keeping their distance, forming a parameter around him, a magic circle that none dare cross for as he walked he exuded an aura of fear and danger, the magic slowly draining on his Djed reserves. The wave that he sent would be stronger close to him, but grow weaker as it moved beyond him. It was more of a presence than anything, and he knew the ones that did not move, nor react to this subtle but effective spell would really be the ones he would have to watch out for. Those that did, well, he would worry less about them as the shuffled away eager to feel safe once more. He did this not to show off, but to ensure his own protection and get a feel for what and who he would have to look out for.

There was nothing like the subtle mind games that he could play. He was daring people to react as he moved through the crowd. A small step away, a faint sign that what he was doing would work and was working was all he needed. That and it provided a nice little gap between him and the people he was trying to dodge. He needed not any petty pick pockets to get him today. He was a wizard but he wasn’t stupid. He did not need them to find out about his magic, that is why he chose such subtle forms to study and practice.

Then something caught his attention as he passed a hooded figure. Figure, man, more like tower and a beast. The person did not even flinch at the subtle hypnotic suggestions. It was as if he was more than accustomed to and thought lightly of danger. Then again, he did not really know this city, but it caused him to turn and watch the cloaked figure. Even some of the ‘hardened’ ones reacted to what he was doing. Interesting indeed. Might be just the man he was looking for; perhaps he could hire him to assist him in some ‘field work’.

Shadowing the man he kept his distance, letting loose of the hypnotic ‘barrier’ that he set up around himself in a much better choice of ‘blending in’ or as much as a nuit could. Having watched the man for long enough he saw the focus of his concentration, it was of… he smiled, a white cloaked lady. Someone perfect to elaborate and shed more light on his experiments involving the nature of life itself, rubbing his hands together as if he was cold he advanced slowly behind the man. He would watch the mans intentions. Body language and the danger of the city gives so much away about a person. Or so he thought, he could try to read people, but it was much better with Auristics. He would ‘sit back’ and watch what was going to happen. If he did not need to intervene, he wouldn’t.

Sorceress meets Him(Rayage)

After about an hour of relaxing Jules starts to scan the area. This wasn't a place she wanted to stay in for a long time. The young Sorceress decided to give the sketchy area a better scan using Auristics. It was the third type of magic her father taught her. Now, Jules was a beginner at that type of magic so this would take all of her undivided attention. Jules kept in mind she couldn't do this magic all day, she had to do this quickly. The reason she wanted to do this was because of a sketchy figure walking. Once she saw him she could tell something wasn't right. Based on her past teachings she knew there was SOME type of magic going on with the sketchy figure.

The figure(Rayage) followed another man, soon The figure saw Jules. After exhaling the young Sorceress stopped scanning and trying to figure things out. Auristics left her tired after using them. She inhales and exhales harder. For anyone that could have been watching her it would have been weird to become tired all of a sudden. Blinking twice Jules continued to watch the figure. Still tired she was able to take a few steps forward. The young sorceress didn't do this often but she wanted to know exactly who the figure(Rayage) was.

Taking a few more steps she got closer to the figure. She wasn't reckless with magic so she would try and have a normal conversation with the figure. Still tired she closed in on the figure she stood ten feet away from it blinking twice again. Her hood fell off once more to reveal her long blonde hair and crystal blue eyes staring directly at the figure. Jules' at this point Jules already knew this figure wasn't normal, well who was she to call anything normal? She came from a family of people who all used magic, her mother died due to a failed Reimancy spell. After that day Jules knew she shouldn't go down that road. It's one of the many reasons she refused to learn Reimancy from her father.

Once in range of the figure she got right to the point, once she began speaking her voice was soft and sweet in the common language. "You're not normal." That's all she could say, if she turned out to be wrong about the figure than it wouldn't be bad. She wouldn't just go up to him and say you used magic. It could get her killed, possibly. All in all Jules was smart for her age, probably because of the desire to live a long life. Maybe because she didn't want to end up like her mother.

The soft spoken Sorceress began to speak once again "Who exactly are you?" In the common again, well it was common so she thought the figure might know alot or some of that language. The sorceress knew she didn't mess anything up. Her dad was alot of bad things but one thing he did good was survive as a wizard. Jules would continue to stare at the figure waiting for a response.

He kept watching her, the supposed target for the creeper. In Sunberth there was always danger, and he had almost forgotten H1-A riding on one of his shoulders. One always had to be cautious in the streets of Sunberth; he had learned that much from his brief time being here last season. Nothing was like watching for trouble and just waiting for it to happen. No, there was a certain thrill to it all, though that emotion was muddled by times wear and tear on his mind he was glad he got to enjoy but a shadow of it. He watched and waited. Was something awful going to happen to the girl? She looked naïve enough, but there was always hidden talents, yes, defenses that no one knows that are there.

Being a mage he was suspicious of everyone, it was his nature. His research, in his mind, was valuable and sought after. For who would not want to know the secrets for creating life? For creating new species? For doing a gods work? Those concepts made him smile; it was his one joy in life. Working, endlessly to achieve that goal he would, he knew he would. He was getting close too. Which is why more research had to be done here. This place was teeming with life, and the more he could study it up close the better. Then again, he just wanted its essence for his alchemy circle, but that was put to the back of his mind.

Then something happened, something he did not expect. The girl made the first move. How wise when you were the prey, but nonetheless unexpected. Carefully he watched as she walked right by the man who seemed oh so interested in her, and then.. wait, was she… yes she is. She was walking towards him. Had she seen him staring? No, no, he was too clever for that. He couldn’t have been caught, but no matter the reason she was coming. Watching her, H1-A’s little furry head perked up and looked at her too, as she stopped right in front of him and started talking.

Listening the nuit couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Laughing a little he put up a hand as if to wave off the silly questions. ”Silly girl.” everyone was a girl or lad to him. They were all… younger. ”What is normal?” he looked around, not quite feeling safe, ”I know you are not normal that is for sure. Nor is that man over there” he pointed behind her, ”Or that woman there.” he pointed to a random person in the crowd of people. ”To put it simple no one is normal and if you are going to waste my time when I have more important things to be doing, I suggest you keep quiet.” he did not have time to entertain her, nor answer any of those silly inquiries. No he was far too busy ‘observing life’.

”You really shouldn’t talk to strangers.” he warned, ”They might be more dangerous than you can imagine.” with that he briskly walked, or however fast a nuit could walk, away from the girl. He was not normal, that was for sure, but again what was normal? Another silly, petty human concept that is what it was. He was well above all of them, and if he wasn’t caught off guard by how casually she walked up and questioned him then she would have heard and seen another side of the nuit.
