| [As he moved behind Cade he was easily underestimated. Walking behind the Barbarian and in his shadow as though he were using the larger man to shield him from any danger that might be lurking or an attack that may have been waiting to occur. The Mage recognized the encampment of the Crimson Edge though seeing as how he had lived here amongst the tents for several season when he was considered the undisputed leader of the guild. Cade was the leader now though it was a simple matter of attrition that had caused this to occur and no force of arms. Attacking Eryss, even for the Barbarian, would have levied inconsequential results.] [If this were the first time someone were to have seen the Mage he was easily recognizable by his attire. Wearing a weathered Cloak. The Cloak was old and tattered but it held together nicely. A hood concealed the facial features of Eryss from anyone who looked at him. Only someone who managed to get insanely close to the Mage would be able to see underneath the cowl he wore rendering the majority of his features completely obstructed from view. His hands were still visible though. They were scarred well beyond the wrist leaving their appearance as thin and twisted with much of the skin there having repaired itself in a patchwork project of what they’d looked like before they were burnt as bad as they had been. It was one of the few truly distinguishing features about him.] [Listening to Cade speak Eryss would have taken the moment to peer around from behind the Barbarian. Gazing out across the array of faces assembled here tonight the Mage would note several that were familiar to him and others which were completely alien. Of course Eryss knew Mok but he was the only one besides Cade that the Mage had actually had any type of real interaction with. Zandelia; Eryss had heard of her though the two had never had a formal introduction. Wrenmae was virtually unknown to the Mage however he seemed to be the one that took the lead dissident after Cade had made his will known amongst the members of the group. Looking at Wrenmae, his vision only occasionally flickering over to Mok and the others so that he remained aware of their intent, he would observe the man quietly until he’d said that both he and Mok felt strongly about all of this and turned to walk away showing his back in the process.] [Everything else that the others had done up until now was largely irrelevant to Eryss at this point. The Mage saw all of them. Xavior, Leon, Apos, Daniel, Chamaeleon. Unless any of them spoke up to Eryss himself he would remain happy to focus on the main dissidents; Mok and Wrenmae. Zandelia was, of course, given a tad more recognition because of who she was as well.] [When Eryss had seen enough he would move around Cade until he was now standing in front of the Barbarian, though slightly off to his right, and was readily more visible. Anyone who was skilled in auristics would have recognized an odd aura surrounding the Mage and anyone else with a skill in observation might be able to see an odd flickering that surrounded him occasionally. The Shield that Eryss had surrounded himself was a powerful defensive magic and the djed that he had woven it from was tightly wound across his form until it formed a translucent layer over the Mage himself that would act as protection. Armor for the unarmored as it were. It had been tasked against all the things that Eryss usually protected himself against; Slashing, Piercing and Bludgeoning attacks to round out the main three things which rendered protection against weapons. The other two tasks were set aside to shield the Mage against biologics and to absorb djed. All of these tasks existing together in an algorithm that rendered Eryss safe behind them.] [Pausing briefly after he had moved around the Barbarian Eryss would fold his hands together in front of him. Letting his hands disappear into the sleeve covering his arms on either side. Once he’d done this he’d have finally spoken, his voice carrying out across the encampment, to Wrenmae...”Dissidence cannot be allowed.”...then his eyes would waver over to Mok before he added...”You’ve all done very poorly.”...before breathing quietly. When he had taken another moment to himself Eryss would finally begin again...”The Crimson Edge is not a gang on the streets. Yet I’ve heard many of you continue to act like it is. There’s no room for mistakes anymore. You’re going to lead yourselves into perilous oblivion. You can’t be allowed to get out of hand so you need to fall into line.”...that seemed to be the end of it considering that Eryss was well aware that many –members- of the Crimson Edge were making poor decisions. Risking their lives was their own business however this could, in some way, be detrimental to the plans Eryss had for the city and he could not allow that. Tilting his head forward the Mage would sweep his right hand outwards then, gesturing to the ground, before speaking plainly...”Kneel to your Master.”...then he would wait patiently for compliance knowing that it could be a hard thing to swallow. Eryss hadn’t been talking about Cade either but he did have a few other things to share once this was out of the way.] |
