I'm not so sure the term "species" is relevant in Mizahar, as it implies the use of binomial nomenclature (genus and species) and the use of taxonomy in the study of life and science (Kingdom Phylum Class Order Family Genus Species). With creatures like gods and Konti and entities like Qamur, and the lack of widespread information about the origins of different creatures and races, I'm not certain that this kind of classification even exists.
Nuits can take virtually any shape, so long as the creature is dead. Could be a female human, a male Dhani, a small dog, an old camel, and the consciousness inside is still the same. The ichor is the living essence of the Nuit, who has transcended the idea of "race" (and sometimes even concepts like male and female) and become something new altogether.
So in this way I do think Nuits ARE a race, and not automatons. They are living beings, with parentage and history, as well as an organic consciousness. A golem would have an artificially created consciousness, with no biological parentage and possibly lacking the same understanding and outlook as a being born from flesh. A golem is entirely unliving, even if it's created from stolen living tissue, where a Nuit still possesses the original spark of life. A dog that is bred to look like a wolf does not become a wild animal.
Sorry, had to get that out. I know that's not what this thread is about.
Ahem. Even if a Nuit with a biologically female body can "perform", I don't know of any guys who would want to sleep with someone who's so... cold. Her body IS a corpse, not the warm body of a lover. Eee...
You could argue that Nuits are hormonally deficient and incapable of feeling lust, but then you get down to the science vs. fantasy debate (EVERY drive, even the drive to learn, can be linked to hormones), and whether or not lust can be an intellectual desire.
