Hello Mizaharians,

NaNoWriMo 2012 is officially over. Without further ado, let's introduce the nineteen winners, up from last year's thirteen!

Double congratulations to Kavala for conquering the top word count this year. All medals will be awarded as soon as we have finalized their design. Also, for those non-winners wishing to receive a 'The dog ate my post' medal, you can ask for it in this thread together with a suitably outrageous excuse. See, I recited my post to put Cthulhu back to sleep but I ended up insane in the process and I lost the entire thread. That kind of excuse. Crypt is getting the very first specimen, but we can accommodate any amount.

Now, for stats time, November was an amazing month. We smashed every activity record ever. For the first time, our monthly post count was... over 9000! We posted 9524 times, up 21% from last November. Our previous record was 8343 from just three months ago in August. Both were placeholder months too - and November was just 30 days. By way of comparison, when we opened we were struggling to make 1000 posts a month.

We posted 2,856,190 words in in-character threads, up 20% from last year's 2,376,894. Given that NaNo managed over 3 billion words this year, once again we have totaled about 0.1% of the event's worldwide output on our humble site alone, consisting of exactly one roleplay. Also, NaNo maintains a word count scoreboard for the 586 regions they've split up the world into. If Mizahar were a region, we'd rank #291, right in the middle and just above South Dakota. There's plenty to be proud of!

For those who didn't participate, and maybe even felt a little annoyed at all the frantic writing and alternate PCs being ignored, I can only suggest that you try it too next year. It's not for everyone, but it might still be for you after all. :) Again, thanks everyone for participating. Enjoy your well-deserved rest!
Tarot's thread tickets: sold out. Not accepting any more threads for the time being unless I promised you one. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Well...

You see I was completely prepared to drop my 50k bomb roughly 19 days ago, when this guy released a virulent strain of superflu that wiped out 99.4% of the world's population. I found out I was pregnant, combated a mysterious ancient evil and finally gave birth to the last and best hope for humanity.

Captain Trips ate my post.

I was going to beat Kavala's word count but He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named came back and went on a murderous computer killing rampage. Everything I wrote offline was destroyed. And then my dog ate my "e" key. Try writing without that.

I'm the ugly stepchild who was abandoned at birth. My older sister, who is a Konti, is always showered with so much more love and attention than I am. If mother just split time between the two of us, we'd utterly BOTH have finished NaNo.

... But no.

First congrats to the winners.

As for me...So the story goes like this. You see I was hacking and slashing away and almost made it half way to the goal but right before that point I was called for a greater goal. So I grabbed by +5 flaming long sword and threw on my best armour and had to go with a party of four to fight back the tides of evil. So while you are reading this now just know that I saved the world and thanks to me (and the party members but we lost the bard at the final end) that you are given this day as a gift.

So With all the work I think Vick could use the medal of dog eatingness. I also lost my +5 flaming long sword.

I was told the Mayan calendar had the world ending in NOVEMBER, not December so I killed myself in anticipation, but forgot that I was a nuit, and so...oh, no wait, I won....
sorry, never mind.

I was unable to complete this years challenge because I am, in fact, Jen's alter ego. While she was creating the Akalak race she became consumed both mentally and physically. The resulting stress created a fracture in her Soul which gave her the inspiration for the Akalak's duality. As her darker half, I talk about body building, barbecue everything, and sweat protein shakes, while she exudes daintiness and butterflies. Sadly, like most Mr. Hyde portions of a personality, I was not allowed much screen time and thus could not compete the required word count. For any further request asking me to expand more significantly upon my failure, I point you to the words beneath my avatar to the left.

Shim tried very hard to complete NaNo. He decided that he had no need of his writer who had decided to focus on her main PC and ignore the small clay man, a behavior which Shim of course is used to, so he broke the fourth wall and escaped into reality in order to obtain something called a top of laps in which to write about himself and forget about that pesky narrator that dictates his every move.

Upon obtaining this device Shim realized two things: 1. he did not understand this magical device which had strange and ungodly shapes that couldn't be explained, and 2. It is very hard for a Pycon to type on a keyboard made for humans.

The entire month of November was spent furiously trying to decipher the strange numerical codes locked into this strange rectangular device, and on the 30th of Nov. was found by his writer and thrown back into Mizahar, where his mind was wiped of any of these events. Clearly, he is not to blame.

*absolutely cracks up reading Xalets and embarrasses herself in a public place while staring at her phone*

I didn't do NaNo because I look too hot in a cheerleader outfit waving pom poms and cheering all the PCs on. Plus, why moderate when you can make people sweat through solos sadistically and enjoy their pain? Sue Sylvester from Glee is my hero, dontcha know?
