Hello Mizaharians, NaNoWriMo 2012 is officially over. Without further ado, let's introduce the nineteen winners, up from last year's thirteen!
Double congratulations to Kavala for conquering the top word count this year. All medals will be awarded as soon as we have finalized their design. Also, for those non-winners wishing to receive a 'The dog ate my post' medal, you can ask for it in this thread together with a suitably outrageous excuse. See, I recited my post to put Cthulhu back to sleep but I ended up insane in the process and I lost the entire thread. That kind of excuse. Crypt is getting the very first specimen, but we can accommodate any amount. Now, for stats time, November was an amazing month. We smashed every activity record ever. For the first time, our monthly post count was... over 9000! We posted 9524 times, up 21% from last November. Our previous record was 8343 from just three months ago in August. Both were placeholder months too - and November was just 30 days. By way of comparison, when we opened we were struggling to make 1000 posts a month. We posted 2,856,190 words in in-character threads, up 20% from last year's 2,376,894. Given that NaNo managed over 3 billion words this year, once again we have totaled about 0.1% of the event's worldwide output on our humble site alone, consisting of exactly one roleplay. Also, NaNo maintains a word count scoreboard for the 586 regions they've split up the world into. If Mizahar were a region, we'd rank #291, right in the middle and just above South Dakota. There's plenty to be proud of! For those who didn't participate, and maybe even felt a little annoyed at all the frantic writing and alternate PCs being ignored, I can only suggest that you try it too next year. It's not for everyone, but it might still be for you after all. ![]() |
